Killing dragon blood

Yan Kong is still smiling with looking at her. But in his heart, a darker desire burned.

"This turtle… it has dragon bloodline traces. If I refine it, my strength will leap forward. And this woman… with her physique and body—if she doesn't come to me willingly, I'll remind her what it means to trample my patience."

His eyes slid over her figure as she crouched down near the beast, the robe parting just enough to expose a line of flawless thigh. He swallowed silently, trying not to stare too openly—but desire flickered in his gaze like smoldering coals.

Xu Ran didn't miss it. She smiled deeper, and in her heart, she laughed coldly.

"Men like you are easy to read. Always thinking with your lower half. But you forget that there is still many options for me."

His eyes slid over her figure as she crouched down near the beast, the robe parting just enough to expose a line of flawless thigh. He swallowed silently, trying not to stare too openly—but desire flickered in his gaze like smoldering coals.

Suddenly a lazy voice cut through the tension like a blade.

"So much romance and drama in one place... You two should charge admission."

The sudden voice startled both Xu Ran and Yan Kong. They instinctively turned, hands halfway to their weapons.

Two figures emerged from the mist—Luo Yang and Jiu You.

There was no sign of anyone else, yet both had arrived so quietly, so close, that neither Yan Kong nor Xu Ran had sensed a thing. They were already standing a few paces away.

Xu Ran's gaze wavered the moment it fell on Luo Yang's appearance. So handsome… so refined...

His noble features, subtle arrogance, and the air of unfathomable confidence that wrapped around him made even her breath pause. She immediately realized—this was no ordinary cultivator.

Beside him, Jiu You's mature charm radiated like wine-scented mist. Her violet robe hugged her curves, and her sharp, teasing gaze made Xu Ran instinctively straighten her back. Jealousy flickered in her heart—but she quickly masked it.

Yan Kong, however, scoffed, recovering his bravado.

"Peak Golden Core… Mid Core Spirit?" he muttered, sizing them up.

A sneer tugged at his lips. "You two must've used some treasure to sneak up unnoticed. I'll give you credit for arriving quietly, but this place is already claimed."

He turned to Xu Ran, trying to maintain face. "Don't worry. I'll deal with them. No need for bloodshed. I'll just send them back in clan."

But even as he spoke, his eyes drifted toward Jiu You.

What a woman…

Her presence was like a burning incense—sultry, composed, and overwhelming. A different flavor from Xu Ran's wild seduction. And perhaps… more addictive.

She's no less than Xu Ran. Maybe even more womanly… mature...

Suppressing his lust, he turned to Xu Ran and put on a noble front.

"You two… must be here to loot the beast we fought for, aren't you?" he accused with a self-righteous tone. "But I'm kind. I won't kill you. I'll just take you back to my clan for questioning. Be grateful."

Luo Yang said nothing. Jiu You didn't move either, only watching calmly. But her eyes glanced sideways—to Luo Yang—waiting.

Luo Yang smiled faintly, his voice soft and casual.

"Old man… I only want the beast's body and the girl alive. Take care of the rest."

A ripple passed through the air. A shadow extended from Luo Yang's feet. In a breath, the old protector stepped forward from the mist, his blade already unsheathed.

Before Yan Kong could react—shhk! A clean slash. Yan Kong's body froze mid-step. His eyes widened. Then his torso slid apart from his waist. Blood sprayed into the air.He was dead before he could even scream.

Xu Ran gasped, her face pale. She stepped back unconsciously. Her heart pounded wildly. Yan Kong wasn't weak. He had treasures from his elder clan, protective talismans, life-saving items— But he hadn't even touched them.

That old man… what kind of monster was he?!

She trembled as she realized: Luo Yang's power was not on the surface. The real danger was hidden in his shadow.

The old man walked past her like she was air. He didn't look at the beast—he simply raised one finger and pointed.

A thin, black ray shot from his fingertip, piercing the golden turtle's forehead. The Rank five beast let out one final low groan… and dead.

A perfect hole was bored clean through its skull. Its talisman bindings shattered. No blood, no mess. Just silence.

Xu Ran and Jiu You both stood stiff, cold sweat forming at their backs. The old protector vanished once more—like he was never there.

Luo Yang stepped forward. He looked over the beast's body once… then waved his hand. The corpse disappeared into his storage ring.

He sighed lightly.

"Not bad. Worth the trip."

Then he turned his eyes toward Xu Ran. His gaze was calm. But there was a gleam of interest—like a hunter deciding what to do with the prey.

Xu Ran stiffened. Her breathing slowed.

She was a proud woman, cunning and confident. But right now, she felt like a lamb surrounded by wolves. Yan Kong was dead, and not even given a second thought. She knew she couldn't escape.

But… she had seen that Luo Yang ordered to keep her alive.

There was still a chance.
