[32]. The Kami Appears

The coal-black Mr. Popo stood silently beside the Kami, both gazing down toward the world below.

Compared to Kami's tense expression, Mr. Popo looked utterly unbothered, his eyes as calm and still as an ancient well, completely unfazed by the two terrifying little monsters that had just arrived on Earth.

"So fast…"

Kami furrowed his brow deeply.

Those two children were incredibly fast. He could barely make out the blurred black shadows streaking through the sky.

And this was Kaso holding back.

If Kaso unleashed the full power of his 14,000 battle power, Kami wouldn't be able to see so much as a single hair.

"They're here," Kami said gravely.

At the edge of Korin Tower, two small figures appeared out of nowhere.

Kaso's sudden arrival startled Korin, who reflexively took a step back, tail twitching slightly.

The guardian cat's voice trembled as he asked,

"Wh-what brings you two here?"

"According to legend, anyone who climbs Korin Tower can receive the cat hermit's guidance," Kaso said with a grin.

"We'd like some instruction on how to train properly."

Hearing Kaso's relaxed tone, Korin finally let out a small breath of relief.

"I'm afraid my power is limited," Korin said.

"I probably wouldn't be of much help to someone like you two…"

With one glance, Korin could see everything—

These two had monstrous strength but lacked refined control.

Their ability to sense or manipulate Ki was a complete mess.

Kaso may have trained on his own for two years and even learned Instant Transmission, and he may have thought he was pretty good at controlling Ki.

But in Korin's eyes?

Kaso's attempts at suppressing his energy were downright pathetic.

Two words:

Utterly disastrous.

All Korin wanted now was for these two to leave quickly.

He didn't want to get involved in whatever business they had.

Even if they looked like just two kids… their power was anything but childish.

Kaso could see through Korin's hesitation and said directly:

"We're not from Earth. But for certain reasons, we'll never bring harm to this planet."

He paused, then added:

"Please, Master Korin, teach us how to control our Ki!"

…?

So these two really weren't Earthlings.

No wonder Korin had never seen them before.

After a long pause, Korin finally said:

"Then let me see your real strength first."

After all, they'd said it so sincerely—

If he refused, and they got mad…

Well, it wouldn't be him getting blown away—it'd be the entire planet.

Korin could only hope that they truly meant what they said, and had no intention of harming Earth.

Kaso smirked to himself.

This fat cat's not easy to convince, huh?

His expression turned serious. With a cold shout, he stopped holding back.

In an instant, a terrifying force exploded from within him.

BOOM—!

It was like mountains collapsing and the earth splitting open.

Even the entire Korin Tower trembled slightly.

A violent pressure surged in all directions—

The clouds within ten thousand kilometers were completely blown away by this overwhelming aura.

"…"

Korin broke out in a cold sweat again.

His legs shook uncontrollably.

He'd known this boy was strong.

But this strong?

The pressure made it hard to breathe.

"S-stop… stop!!" Korin shouted.

Kaso immediately retracted his energy.

"Kaso-gege, me too!" Ausbi'er chimed in cheerfully.

BOOM—!

Another wave of immense energy burst forth from Korin Tower.

The clouds that had just begun to gather scattered again.

"T-that's enough…!"

This little girl wasn't as strong as the boy, but her power was still utterly shocking to Korin.

"Are you absolutely sure you won't harm Earth?" Korin asked again.

Getting a firm, confident answer from Kaso, Korin finally let out a real sigh of relief.

He hoped they meant what they said.

"Truth is, I sensed you both the moment you arrived on Earth," Korin said.

"You have incredible power, but you lack control."

"Please, teach us," Kaso replied humbly.

Even Ausbi'er's eyes were filled with a yearning desire to learn.

Seeing their sincere attitude, Korin's nerves finally calmed.

"You see," Korin began,

"It's easy to get used to wealth and comfort, but very hard to return to hardship."

"With power like yours, without the proper methods, it's impossible to fully control it."

Kaso and Ausbi'er sat cross-legged, listening attentively.

"To be honest," Korin continued,

"I do have a method to help you master Ki… but I can't help you myself."

"What?" Ausbi'er suddenly stood up, her face rare with frustration.

He just said he had a method, and now he's saying he can't help?

She felt cheated by this fat cat.

Kaso often talked to her about Earth and its unique "Ki" training methods.

She'd dreamed of it for so long.

If she could learn how to control Ki, she'd become stronger—

Then maybe one day she could catch up to Kaso-gege…

And protect him!

"Bi'er, calm down. Let him finish," Kaso said quickly.

Her sudden outburst startled Kaso—

When did this girl get so hot-headed?

He gently pulled her into his arms and apologized to Korin, asking him to continue.

Korin nearly had a heart attack when she stood up.

He thought he was dead for sure.

Thankfully, the boy kept things under control.

Now Korin didn't dare leave anything unsaid.

"The method exists, yes.

But you two are simply too powerful.

To learn proper Ki control, you must first suppress your immense energy."

Korin swallowed hard.

"And with my strength, I simply can't suppress you two."

"Only Kami, up in the Lookout, has the power to do that."

"Only then I can teach you."

Finally saying his piece, Korin let out a deep sigh.

Kaso fell silent in thought.

It had been two years since he transmigrated here.

After getting his potential unlocked by Guru, he now had a battle power of 14,000.

This fat cat?

Barely 200.

There was no way Korin could help suppress his energy.

Kaso looked up toward the sky.

"So only Kami can do it…"

Ausbi'er sat quietly in Kaso's arms, not daring to interrupt.

Just then, two figures appeared outside Korin Tower.

One green.

One pitch-black.

Two extremes of color.

"Kami!" Korin exclaimed in surprise.

Hearing that, Kaso snapped out of his thoughts and turned to look.

So…

Kami had finally decided to show himself.

Kaso smirked inwardly.

"Kaso-gege, why does that green guy look like a watermelon?

And what's with that black coal-head next to him?"

Ausbi'er tilted her head curiously.

Kaso's face changed and he hurriedly covered her mouth.

Seriously? You just say anything out loud!?

If they refused to teach them how to use Ki because of this, they'd be screwed!

Kami's mouth twitched slightly.

But Mr. Popo, as always, remained calm and unreadable.
