[47]. Planting Senzu Beans

Bardock nodded seriously.

When those two hundred black domes first appeared, he had been scared out of his mind.

Why would so many pitch-black buildings just pop up out of nowhere?

Clustered together like that, they even looked a bit ominous in the daylight—as if they were tombs for corpses.

But now, looking back…

They were treasures.

Bardock had made up his mind—from now on, he was going to "lie in one of those black buildings every day."

Ahem—train in the gravity chambers, that is!

Northern Region of Planet Sadala

Surrounded by thick, lush forests, a wide clearing stood out starkly—so out of place, it was as if someone had forcibly carved out a chunk of the woods.

In the middle of the clearing stood over two hundred black gravity chambers, lined up neatly.

Even under the bright sun, the place felt imposing, almost like something straight out of the Qing Dynasty.

...Well, let's just say it had a very commanding presence.

Not far from the chambers was a plot of unusual land, around 40 square meters in size.

Bardock and Garis stood at its edge.

"Captain, you really think Little Bi'er reached that level just by training in those things?" Garis scratched his head doubtfully.

"Most likely."

Truth be told, Bardock was still in shock.

Even if Ausbi'er were a high-level warrior, it should've been impossible for her to reach that level of power as a child.

If this was all thanks to the gravity chambers… then their value was immeasurable.

That meant—if he trained in one too, would the effects be just as dramatic?

"We're rich!" Garis cheered.

"Shut up! Don't shout like an idiot—you're embarrassing me."

Bardock glared at him, annoyed.

How could this blockhead be part of my squad? If others found out, Bardock might just die of shame.

Garis: "…"

Once Bardock turned around, Garis flipped him off behind his back.

"Tch. Like you weren't standing there earlier, mouth wide open watching Ausbi'er!"

Still, he didn't dare say that aloud—Bardock might pound him into the dirt.

Garis quickly caught up.

"You go left. Use the method Kaso taught us and pack up the chambers," Bardock ordered, pointing.

He himself went to the right, and the two began collecting the gravity chambers into capsules.

After ten or so minutes, they had piled up a small mountain of capsules on the ground.

Anyone passing by might've thought the two were hoarding oversized medication.

Soon, only a few dozen gravity chambers remained standing.

Bardock and Garis each worked their side, closing in on the last ones.

Although they looked like they didn't care about the pile of capsules behind them…

That couldn't be further from the truth.

These two hundred gravity chambers were now the foundation of the Saiyan race's revival.

If anyone dared touch even one, Bardock and Garis would make them regret ever being born.

"At last, we're done!" Bardock let out a breath of relief.

Now all that was left was to distribute the capsules to the others.

The Saiyan race, known as a warrior people, craved battle and power.

Gravity chambers were practically made for them. There was no need to worry about whether they'd be interested.

"Captain, make sure I get one," Garis said, staring hungrily at the pile of capsules.

After seeing Ausbi'er's power, he needed one.

"No need to rush. We've got 200. Everyone gets one."

"Right, right!" Garis chuckled sheepishly, scratching his head.

Bardock could only shake his head. This guy was a real clown.

"Let's go."

The two lifted the capsule pile and soared into the sky.

Not long after they left, a small figure appeared in the clearing.

It was Kaso.

He glanced in the direction Bardock and Garis had gone, smiling faintly.

He had heard their entire conversation.

To be honest, Garis really was kind of silly.

Turning his gaze to the plot of unique soil, Kaso walked over and crouched down to examine it more closely.

From afar, it looked black—but up close, he realized the soil was actually a deep brown.

It only looked dark because the earth was so densely packed.

He touched the dirt—it felt moist to the touch.

Raising his head, he looked at the blazing sun above.

In this kind of scorching weather, the soil should be dry.

But it wasn't. Not only was it moist—it even emitted a faint shimmering mist.

Quite extraordinary.

This was the land created using the third wish granted by Shenron during his time on Namek.

Kaso had originally meant to make a plot for planting Senzu beans.

While the dragon had granted the wish, Kaso wasn't sure it would actually work.

After all, Senzu beans were supposed to be grown with Ultra Divine Water as fertilizer.

Would this magical land be enough?

Well, there was only one way to find out.

Test it.

Kaso carefully planted a single Senzu bean—just one, to avoid waste.

Then he crouched beside it… and waited.

Several hours later — noon

The sun was blazing overhead.

Kaso hadn't moved at all—he was still in the same spot, sweating bullets.

At first, he had waited excitedly, full of hope.

If this worked… it could change the Saiyan race forever.

But as time dragged on and the heat worsened, he wiped his brow and slumped a little.

Still no signs of growth.

"Damned dragon…"

He cursed under his breath.

He almost wanted to stomp on the dirt—but remembered there was still a Senzu bean buried there.

Just as he was about to dig it up—

Something happened.

The soil loosened slightly.

Some tiny clumps crumbled away.

Then—

A sliver of green peeked through the surface.

Wait…

Did it sprout?!

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

Kaso burst out laughing and threw his head back in joy.

He had only made that third wish to test his luck.

Even though the dragon had granted it, he had no real faith it would work.

And now… it had.

The land really could grow Senzu beans.

Staring at the sprout, Kaso's thoughts raced.

How many beans would grow from a single seed?

If it only produced one, the field would be practically useless.

But if it could yield two or three per seed… that was a game changer.

If it worked—Senzu beans would no longer be a rare resource.

"Once the plant matures, I'll know. But during this growing phase, I can't let anything ruin it…"

He made up his mind.

He would have the Saiyans guard the land around the clock—especially from wild beasts.

With a plan in mind, Kaso turned and left, heading off to report everything to Bardock.

After Kaso had gone, the little sprout continued to grow.

It reached a bit higher toward the sun.

Beneath the ground, a faint sound echoed—like an underground stream flowing beneath the soil.

But Kaso had already left.

And hadn't noticed this secret...
