[53]. One Less Senzu Bean

"Let's talk later," Kaso said casually.

Bardock nodded. Just now, when the group of Saiyans shouted "Lord Kaso!" in unison, the whole atmosphere had ignited. Even Bardock couldn't help but sigh—Kaso's authority among the Saiyans had probably already surpassed his own.

But that suited Bardock just fine. In another couple of years, he could pass the Saiyan leadership over to Kaso without worry.

Meanwhile, the dog-headed alien pirate stared wide-eyed. Not only was that brat terrifyingly strong, his identity seemed anything but simple.

"Who the hell are you?!" the dog-headed alien shouted.

Kaso heard him—but ignored him completely.

He walked over to Yuna.

There lay a stunning woman with long blue hair and an icy aura, draped across Yuna's arms. She looked like a cold, untouchable goddess—a textbook ice queen. Her complexion, however, was deathly pale—clearly on the verge of collapse.

Kaso couldn't help but admire her beauty. Honestly, aside from Bulma and Android 18, few women in the Dragon Ball world could compare.

There was another woman cradling her—clearly of the same race, but older, more mature, and voluptuous. Let's just say: any perv would probably rank her a ten out of ten.

As for the rest of the female guards… well, one glance and you knew they were background characters.

"You said your ancestors once did a favor for the Saiyans?" Kaso raised an eyebrow.

The Saiyan race had a long, muddled history. Kaso only knew about the migration from Planet Sadala to Planet Vegeta. Anything further back than that was lost to time.

If what Yuna said was true, it might even date back to the age of the ancient Saiyans.

Suddenly, Philiya coughed up more blood. It dripped down her chin and stained her clothes.

"Princess!"

Yuna cried out, her voice cracking.

The Lolita Tribe had never seen such a talented individual in their history. Yuna had watched Philiya grow up—like a daughter to her.

Kaso coughed twice. "I don't have a healing chamber… but I do have this."

He pulled out a single senzu bean.

But as he stretched out his hand, his heart twisted in pain—it physically hurt to give one up!

Philiya looked like she was about to die, even though her injuries weren't visible. Internal damage, for sure. Probably quite serious.

And with no healing pod? Even Saiyans would be down for six months. A fragile woman like her? She might not survive the day.

"This is…?"

Yuna stared at the tiny bean Kaso offered. Was this kid serious?! Her princess was dying, and he thought it was time to play games?

"This bean will save her life," Kaso said flatly. "Don't want it? Fine. Saves me the trouble."

Pretty or not, if he wasn't curious about their story, he wouldn't even bother.

"Son of a—!"

The dog-headed alien was furious.

Ever since he arrived, no one had paid him the slightest attention. He had a battle power of 5,000—enough to rule over entire systems in the early Dragon Ball timeline. But here? It was like he didn't exist.

"Boss, they're ignoring you!"

"Yeah, totally!"

His subordinates egged him on.

Face was everything in the pirate world. Provoked by his lackeys, the dog-faced alien lost all sense of reason. He seemed to have forgotten how Kaso had effortlessly blocked all of their earlier attacks.

"Die!!!"

He shot into the air, 100 meters up, and began charging two yellow energy blasts—one in each hand.

Auras of light shimmered around the blasts. As his energy surged, the blasts grew larger and brighter.

Desperate to restore his dignity, he poured in everything he had and hurled them downward with a roar.

Back on the ground.

Yuna looked at the senzu bean in her hand. It sounded ridiculous, but she had no better options.

She reached out to feed it to Philiya—

Just then, an intense light flashed in the sky. The sheer pressure from the energy forced anyone below 2,000 battle power to their knees.

The air roared with howling wind and blinding dust.

The female guards struggled to keep their footing, huddling together to shield Philiya and Yuna.

Even with 1,000 battle power, Yuna was barely standing.

"No!"

She looked up at the descending energy blasts, her heart filled with despair.

There was no resisting this. This was the end.

Yuna staggered backward and closed her eyes.

Just before they shut completely—

She heard a voice, calm and annoyed:

"God, you're loud. Screw your mom!"

BOOM!

A beam of light shot skyward, and the world fell silent.

Yuna hesitated, then slowly opened her eyes.

Smoke filled the sky. The dog-headed alien was gone. The battlefield was eerily quiet.

Kaso stood with one arm raised.

Bardock muttered, "Does this brat think he looks cool doing that?"

Ausbi'er clapped excitedly. "Kaso-nii is so cool!"

Bardock: "…"

As the smoke cleared, there was no miraculous survival. The dog-faced alien had been obliterated—gone without a trace.

Only 5,000 battle power? Not even worth a proper send-off.

"He… he's dead?"

Yuna stared wide-eyed.

A 5,000-level warrior, dead in an instant?

In the Lolita Tribe, Philiya was the strongest with 1,500—and she had been instantly defeated by this same enemy.

Yuna looked at Kaso's outstretched hand.

It was him?

In that moment, a phrase formed in her mind:

"Terrifying beyond reason."

"Save her now, or she really will die," Kaso said calmly.

"R-right!"

Yuna quickly tried to feed Philiya the senzu bean. She had no doubt now—this boy wasn't lying.

But no matter how she tried, the barely conscious Philiya couldn't swallow it!

"What do I do?!" Yuna panicked again.

The bean was useless if she couldn't even get it down.

Kaso frowned. He could feel the girl's life slipping away.

"Quick—before it's too late!"

Without thinking, he said:

"Crush the bean with your teeth and mouth-feed it to her!"
