Teniola Badmus, a vibrant woman born and raised in America, journeys to her father's homeland of Nigeria with her Nigerian university sweetheart, Jim. She holds the hopeful belief that their relationship will blossom into marriage, and she also anticipates that being in Nigeria will aid her in finding the father she is yet to meet. However, the true nature of Jim, a successful medical doctor, soon emerges through his promiscuous lifestyle, ultimately leading to their breakup two years after they settle in Nigeria. Her heart breaks due to Jim's randy escapades.
Yet, amidst this disappointment, an unexpected connection sparks with the town's most peculiar resident. Fate smiles on Teni the day her headstrong dog, in its characteristic stubbornness, unexpectedly leads Teni to encounter Dan at his secluded home within the scrapyard of the pine plantation. As her feelings for Dan deepen, Dan becomes entangled in a web of blackmail, plunging him into serious trouble. But fate again, in its intricate design, weaves a connection between this trouble and the riddle of Teniola's father's identity.
