CHAPTER 34: The Group Chat and Giggles

As Nian chuckled in disbelief, still blushing from her call with DK, she set her phone down and stood from her bed. Walking out, she found Xuanye crouched on the floor, cleaning the mess she had caused earlier.

Nian crossed her arms. "Huh~ so now you're cleaning the mess?"

Xuanye froze, then gave a sheepish smile. "Haa… that? I was just, uh, exercising. One wrong move and—" she trailed off, grinning awkwardly.

Nian raised an eyebrow. "Exercising or chatting with your crush?" she teased.

Xuanye immediately stood and grabbed Nian's arm. "You know my situation, so stop teasing!" she said, tugging her. "It's late. Come on, let's eat."

Nian smiled faintly and followed.

At the Canteen…

While waiting in line, Yichen entered and scanned the tables. Spotting Nian, he walked over and tapped her shoulder.

Nian turned, startled. "Yichen? What are you doing here?"

"I just finished my project work. Thought I'd grab dinner," he replied with a bright smile.

Nian gave a polite nod and turned back, slightly uncomfortable under his gaze.

Xuanye noticed and smoothly stepped in. "Yichen, you finished your project already? That fast?" she asked, rapid-fire. "How was it? Did you gain any peace from it?"

Yichen, flustered by the sudden onslaught of questions, simply replied, "I… finished." Then he awkwardly stood in line.

Nian watched, amused. During dinner, the canteen buzzed with chatter, but one bite of the food and Nian grimaced.

"What the hell…" she muttered.

Xuanye took a bite, chewed slowly, then sighed. "Nian, I think we should've rented a room at SEVENTEEN's dorm. I miss Scoups' cooking…"

Nian placed her chopsticks down dramatically. "Yes, Xuanye. The food here got worse in just one month…"

They sighed and finished eating reluctantly.

---

Back in Their Dorm…

Nian checked her phone. A new notification popped up:

"You've been added to: A Vibe Mates"

She blinked. "Xuanye," she said, tapping her leg, "do you know a group called A Vibe Mates?"

Xuanye, half-asleep, opened one eye and looked like she just achieved enlightenment. "Ah… that's the group Seventeen created. Minghao said the members missed us."

As if on cue, a notification popped up.

Vernon: Haa~ Finally SEVENTEEN has created a group chat.

Woozi: Yah~ We better message in this group regularly.

Joshua: 😊 Guys, I've written so many new acrostic poems. I'll share them when you're free.

Boo: 😤 Joshua, this group wasn't created for poetry. It's mainly for DK and Minghao.

Dino: 👍 Boo, are you silly? If DK and Minghao talk here, won't it feel like we're spying on their love life?

Wonwoo: 😺 smiling cat emoji

Hoshi: 🐯 From now on, we're like tiger claws! Let's message actively!

Mingyu: 😂 giggling emoji

DK: 💗 Love you guys~ (video message with a wink)

Minghao: I miss you guys…

Nian stared at the screen, stunned.

Xuanye peeked at her. "Why do you look so shocked?"

"Did they all become babies or something?" Nian replied, scrolling in disbelief.

Xuanye raised a brow. "Why, what happened?"

Nian showed her the messages. As Xuanye read them, she burst into laughter.

"They're literally in the same house, and they're chatting like it's a long-distance relationship," Nian said, dumbfounded.

Xuanye giggled. "Look what Minghao sent me privately."

She covered her face in shy laughter.

Nian read the message and sulked. "Look at your future boyfriend being affectionate in public…"

Xuanye snorted. "Oh please. Look what DK sent you—a full video message! If that's not boyfriend behavior, what is?"

Nian turned away, blushing hard.

Both girls stared at their phones, cheeks glowing red, grinning like schoolgirls.

And just like that, even from miles away, the chaos and affection of SEVENTEEN continued to follow them—one message at a time.
