Nian and Xuanye went to their dorm, grabbed their bags, and left the room. While walking down the road, Xuanye said softly,
"Nian, shall we go to the flower shop and buy some sunflowers? After seeing that picture... it reminds me of his face~~" She clung to her arm.
Nian looked at her and smiled.
"Okay... then first we'll go to the flower shop, and after that, we'll head to their studio."
Xuanye nodded eagerly.
As they reached the flower shop, they walked inside. Xuanye immediately went to search for sunflowers while Nian admired the flowers on display. Something struck her mind — she walked to the shopkeeper and asked,
"Sir, do you have a flower called chamomile?"
She paused, silently hoping.
The shopkeeper thought for a few seconds. Nian stood there praying it would be in stock. Finally, he said,
"Yes ma'am, please come this way."
Nian's face lit up and she followed him like a happy puppy.
On the other hand, Xuanye found the sunflower section. There were so many — she carefully examined each one, focusing mainly on the petals that were sharp, just like his eyes. Finally, Xuanye found the perfect sunflower that looked exactly like him. Her face brightened like a flashlight. She looked at the flower and smiled, thinking of Hao's face.
"Hao, at last, I've found your spirit flower," she whispered, brushing the petals gently.
Meanwhile, Nian followed the shopkeeper to the chamomile section. She was stunned by how beautiful the flowers looked. The shopkeeper gestured to her, and Nian walked among the blooms. She squatted down, traced one flower gently, and brought it close to her nose to smell. When she closed her eyes, DK's smiling face appeared in her mind — bright, warm, and full of sunshine, just like this flower. A tear slipped down her cheek. She opened her eyes slowly, wiped her tears happily, and told the shopkeeper,
"I'll take this one, please."
The shopkeeper smiled and carefully picked the flower.
As Nian came out holding the flower with a soft smile, she saw Xuanye already waiting at the billing desk. Nian walked toward her, beaming.
"Oh~ you've chosen yours, huh?" she asked.
Xuanye blushed, patted the flower lovingly, and replied,
"Yeah~ from now on, it's not just a flower. It's Hao's spirit flower~~" she giggled.
Nian patted her head with a laugh. Xuanye noticed the flower in Nian's hand.
"Nian~ you also chose DK's spirit flower, huh?"
Nian chuckled.
"No... this isn't his spirit flower. It's him."
Xuanye covered her mouth, blushing.
The shopkeeper finished packing, and the girls came out of the shop. They booked a cab and waited nearby. It was 12 p.m. — the sunlight was falling directly onto the flowers.
Nian took a step back into the shade and grabbed Xuanye's hand.
"Why are you grabbing me, Nian?" Xuanye asked.
Nian replied,
"The flowers will wilt if we stay in the sun. We have to keep them fresh so they look perfect when we give them to the boys."
Xuanye chuckled.
"Huh~~ you're too serious about this."
They stood under the shade until the cab arrived. Once it came, they hopped in and headed to the studio.
As they stepped out and closed the cab door, they looked up at the studio.
"Ye~ we're stepping into the studio again. I'm really excited!" Nian said, giggling.
Xuanye tapped her and replied,
"Yes~ but are you sure they're here?"
"I know they are," Nian said confidently. "DK told me they'd be practicing from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. That's why we came now."
Xuanye raised a brow.
"When did he tell you this?"
"Huh~ last week," Nian said with a smile.
Xuanye shook her head in disbelief.
They entered the building. The manager was sitting outside with his face covered by a magazine, eyes closed.
Nian and Xuanye stood near him, whispering to each other about who should call him. But before they could, he heard their murmuring and lifted the magazine from his face.
He saw them and blinked in surprise.
Xuanye pointed at him in shock.
"It's you…!"
The manager looked just as surprised.
"It's you! What are you doing here?"
As they spoke, Nian stood to the side, feeling like a third wheel. Xuanye laughed and told her,
"Hey! I told you I met a manager when I was with Minghao, right? He's the one!"
Nian raised her brow and gave the manager a polite wave.
He chuckled.
"So, what brings you here?"
"We came to meet the members," Xuanye replied cheerfully.
The manager glanced at the flowers they were holding and smiled. The girls followed his gaze and laughed softly.
"The members went to eat in the cafeteria," he said. "But Minghao is still practicing in the room."
The girls nodded in understanding. Nian asked politely,
"Sir, what's your name?"
"Oh right! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Zheng — the manager of SEVENTEEN."
The girls bowed and introduced themselves as well. Nian then excused herself,
"I'm going to meet the members," she said and left.
Xuanye stayed behind, turning to Manager Zheng.
"Why is he still practicing instead of eating?" she asked.
Zheng replied,
"When it comes to his solo, he gets really serious about dance."
Xuanye's eyes widened.
"What… his solo??"
Zheng nodded.
Xuanye blushed deeply.
"I won't waste time then, Zheng~ thanks for your cooperation!" she said, grinning, and ran off toward the practice room.
Zheng watched her skipping away with a fond smile.
