The Riley Twins

For four straight weeks, Krishna Debonair kept her scandal count at zero.

No fights.

No leaked videos.

No surprise headlines about another public meltdown.

To the rest of Country X? She was just another bratty Beta throwing a month-long tantrum after Daddy finally cut her off.

Let them think that.

Let them bask in the illusion that she was sulking in her penthouse with wilted roses and empty wine bottles.

In reality?

Krishna was hunting again.

Quietly. Strategically.

And today?

Her prey came wearing matching designer heels.

---

The luxury cosmetics boutique glistened under gold-plated lights. Everything smelled like overpriced powder and ego.

Krishna was halfway through testing a deep red lipstick when she heard the first yelp.

It came from the skincare section.

And like muscle memory… she moved.

Sliding her sunglasses down her nose, she watched from the corner of her eye.

Two figures stood pressed too close against a trembling Beta salesgirl.

Allysa and Alliyah Riley.

Alpha twins.

Daughters of one of the biggest shipping moguls in the country.

Spoiled, rich, and mean in ways only old money could breed.

They weren't just entitled.

They were dangerous.

Alliyah grabbed the poor girl's chin with too much force, tilting her head up like examining a stray pet.

"Smile for me," she purred, her voice dipped low, like some predator playing with her food.

Allysa laughed beside her, reaching around to grab the salesgirl's backside with a bold squeeze.

The girl flinched, twisting to escape, but both Alphas closed in tighter.

In public.

In broad daylight.

Like they owned the air people breathed.

Krishna's teeth clicked together in annoyance.

The rest of the staff? Too afraid to intervene.

A few customers pulled out their phones but quickly put them away.

No one wanted trouble with the Riley twins.

Except her.

Krishna capped her lipstick, tossed it onto the counter without paying, and made her way over.

Her steps slow. Measured.

But every cell in her body burned with warning.

When she finally spoke, her voice sliced clean through the heavy perfume air.

"Is this how you two get your kicks now?"

Both twins froze.

Allysa turned first.

Her expression went from annoyance to something almost… amused.

"Well, well," she drawled, flicking her hair back over one shoulder. "If it isn't the family disgrace."

Alliyah smirked, eyes raking Krishna head to toe. "Didn't think you were allowed out in public without supervision these days."

Krishna gave a lazy, empty smile. "I get weekend privileges now. Good behavior and all that."

The Beta girl still whimpered behind them, clutching her torn uniform.

Krishna's gaze dropped for one second to the trembling salesgirl—then shifted right back to the twins.

Her next move? Fast.

Before Allysa could blink, Krishna grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her sideways, slamming her back-first against the nearest display shelf.

The sound of expensive glass bottles crashing to the floor echoed like gunfire.

Alliyah lunged instinctively to defend her sister--

But Krishna was already turning, catching her around the throat in a loose but deliberate hold.

Not enough to choke.

Just enough for a warning.

Alliyah's eyes widened, lips parted, suddenly very aware how quickly things had escalated.

The energy in the store shifted.

Customers froze.

A few gasped.

The Beta salesgirl?

Already scrambling backward into the counter, tears streaking her face.

Krishna leaned in close, voice low and venom-sweet.

"You like touching Betas who can't fight back?" she whispered against Alliyah's ear. "Try me next time. Let's see if your fancy Alpha blood makes a difference when you're face-down on cold tile."

Alliyah whimpered.

Allysa, still sprawled against the perfume display, scrambled upright with her jaw clenched but…

Didn't move closer.

Krishna finally let go.

Stepping back with slow, dangerous satisfaction.

Her smile?

Unapologetic.

Unbothered.

Untouchable.

"Consider this your free lesson in consent," she added, fixing the sleeves of her jacket.

The store fell into stunned silence.

Allysa still lay against the shattered perfume display, shaking, cheeks flushed with both fury and humiliation.

Alliyah stood rigid, rubbing her throat where Krishna's fingers had pressed, a faint red mark already blooming across her pale skin.

Their eyes burned with hatred… but neither of them dared move.

Not yet.

Not while Krishna Debonair still stood there like a storm dressed in casual designer clothes.

But Krishna…

Her attention had already shifted.

Her gaze drifted past them… toward the trembling Beta salesgirl still crouched behind the counter, hugging herself like she wanted to disappear into the floor.

Krishna stepped over broken glass without care, crouching down low near the counter edge.

"Hey," she called softly.

The girl flinched.

Krishna's expression didn't change, but her tone dropped, gentler now, just enough to let the girl breathe.

"C'mere."

Slow. Hesitant.

The girl crawled out from hiding, her eyes red, her lip still trembling.

Krishna reached into her jacket pocket, pulled out a slim, matte-black business card, and pressed it into the girl's shaking hand.

The logo? Small. Unfamiliar.

A name underneath: "The Citadel – Private Staffing Division."

Below that: a contact number.

No company name, no corporate gloss.

Just quiet protection hidden behind minimal words.

"Go there tomorrow morning," Krishna said, voice still soft but steady. "They'll set you up. Decent pay. No assholes allowed. If anyone so much as breathes wrong near you there… they'll answer to me."

The girl's eyes welled up again, but this time, it wasn't fear.

It was relief.

Before Krishna stood, she reached into her purse and pulled out a thick wad of folded cash, more than the girl probably made in a month working here.

"Until then… buy yourself dinner. Or new clothes. Or a plane ticket out of this city. Whatever the hell you want."

She tucked the bills into the girl's pocket like a lazy afterthought.

And just for good measure?

Krishna walked straight up to the register.

With the entire store, and both furious Alpha twins, watching…

She pulled out a black Centurion card, casually flicking it onto the counter.

The clerk blinked at her.

"This… this is--"

"Charge everything they broke," Krishna said with a mock-sweet smile, jerking her thumb toward the Riley twins without even looking at them. "Oh, and add the clean-up fee."

Dead silence.

The blow landed hard.

Alliyah's face drained of color.

Allysa visibly recoiled, a vein ticking in her temple.

The idea…

That Krishna Debonair…

Was now paying for their damages?

Turning their tantrum into her own tab?

Making it look like they owed her?

Humiliation burned hotter than fire.

Krishna turned back to the exit, sliding her sunglasses over her eyes with a dramatic little flourish.

And with one last lazy grin tossed over her shoulder, she added--

"Next time you two want to play Alpha games… bring a leash."

Then she strolled out of the store…

Unbothered.

Unapologetic.

Leaving shattered, egos and glass, in her wake.
