Chapter 6: Gu Siyin

Hearing a female voice when Bai Xuan look at the ground from the sky he found a beautiful lady.

Her beauty is like a burst of spring — fresh, vibrant, and full of life.

She has luminous green eyes that shine with excitement and warmth, like sparkling jade under sunlight. Her long, flowing hair is the color of soft honey, styled in two adorable buns on each side, giving her a youthful and playful appearance. Gold ornaments delicately accent her hairstyle, adding a gentle touch of elegance and grace.

Her smile is radiant and heartwarming — the kind that can brighten a room and melt tension in an instant. There's a purity in her expression, a carefree spirit that makes her presence feel light and joyful.

She wears a flowing outfit of white and pink, wrapped neatly at the waist with intricate sashes. The wide sleeves and soft fabric give her an ethereal, fairy-like charm, as if she's a character straight from a celestial realm. The floral, watercolor-like background enhances her beauty even more — she's like a blooming cherry blossom in full spring, cheerful and enchanting.

In essence, her beauty is a perfect blend of innocence, joy, and elegance — someone who brings warmth and energy wherever she goes.

Bai Xuan stepped down from the crimson sky, the Blood Core Formation slowly dimming beneath his feet, no longer absorbing the blood-soaked spiritual essence of the Lang family.

He landed gracefully on the broken ground, his black robes fluttering with residual energy. His eyes—cold, sharp, and unreadable—fixed on the young woman standing between him and the shattered remains of the Lang family estate.

"Why would you do this?" he asked calmly, his voice neither warm nor cruel—just curious. "Why would you protect them?"

The woman the system had notified him about. Siyin. A cultivator, radiant yet unfamiliar. He had never met her before today, but her actions confused him. Why shield the Lang family, a sect that had defied his orders?

Before Siyin could answer, a trembling voice called from within the ruined compound.

"Siyin, run! Don't listen to him! He's a demonic cultivator… He'll kill you too!"

The voice was weak—barely a breath—but it echoed with desperation. Bai Xuan turned his head slightly, following the sound.

The walls of the Lang estate were already in ruin, crumbled under the pressure of his formation. The defensive barriers had long shattered, and the spiritual force that surged from his Blood Core Formation had destroyed several buildings. From within the rubble, a young man—the one named Lang Yuwei, barely alive—lay slumped against a broken pillar, his blood still slowly draining toward the crimson formation circle etched beneath him.

And then, Bai Xuan understood.

He smiled, slow and sinister.

"Ah... so it's because of love," he said to himself. A dark glint flickered in his eyes. "Heh... interesting."

As he pondered his situation, he reflected on his initial intentions for approaching the Lang family. "I entered the realm of the Lang family with the strategic ambition of making it my ally, envisioning its transformation into a first-class family in the future. I believed that by aligning myself with them, I could enhance my own position and influence. However, much to my dismay, the leader of the family and the elder members not only refused my proposal but went so far as to conspire against me with the intent to eliminate me altogether. Their rejection felt like a betrayal, and their aggression took me by surprise.

Yet amidst this turmoil, I found myself focusing on a different opportunity that had unexpectedly presented itself. There was a girl I had been searching for, and she had emerged seemingly by chance, revealing her vulnerabilities in a moment of unguarded honesty. This was a crucial moment for me; her unintentional display of weakness could be the key to my next move. I realized that I must seize this opportunity quickly, for situations like this are rare and cannot be counted on to recur. It was imperative that I acted decisively, taking full advantage of what might be a pivotal turning point in my plans."

A wicked idea bloomed in his mind like a venomous lotus.

He turned back to Siyin, voice low and laced with venomous charm.

"The Lang family defied me. So tell me—why should I spare them, just because you ask?"

Siyin looked toward Lang Yuwei. His robes were stained red, his breathing shallow. The life was fading from his eyes. Her heart clenched.

She had to choose.

Taking a shaky breath, she turned back to Bai Xuan and spoke, her voice trembling but steady.

"If you let them go... if you stop the formation… I'll do anything you ask."

Bai Xuan tilted his head. A cruel smile stretched across his face like a blade drawn slow.

"Anything?"

She hesitated—but then nodded.

"Yes."

He stepped closer. His aura wrapped around her like a suffocating shadow.

"Then swear it. Swear that you will become my concubine. That your body, your spirit, and your soul will belong to me—

In exchange, I will let the Lang family live."

If it will a normal situation then Bai Xuan not take a rush step. But know he have not enough time.

Siyin's breath caught.

Her mind screamed no, but her heart was trapped.

She glanced once more at Lang Yuwei, whose pale lips were still calling her name, even in pain.

And then, as Bai Xuan's formation began to flare again beneath them—its hungry, bloodthirsty light crackling—she made her decision.

Clenching her fists, Siyin closed her eyes and lowered her head.

"I… accept your condition."

A demonic cultivator's(Bai Xuan's) laughter echoed across the broken land.

The Lang family had survived—at a cost far crueler than death.

And Bai Xuan...

had claimed a soul more valuable than a thousand lives.

Unknown Forest – Midnight

A cold wind whispered through the ancient, twisted trees of the Unknown Forest. The sky was dark, veiled in heavy clouds, and the moon barely pierced the thick canopy overhead.

Bai Xuan staggered forward, blood splattering across his lips as he dropped to one knee.

"Damn it..." he growled, gripping his chest. Crimson steam coiled from his wounds like smoke. "Even after cultivating through ten lifetimes... I still can't fully control this Blood Core Formation."

He stared at a box, his expression distant and cold.

"I killed the leader and elders of the Lang family... crippled their foundation. Without a Sixth Stage cultivator, they've fallen to a third-class clan. They refused to kneel and become my subordinates, so I buried their strength."

He exhaled slowly, eyes darkening.

"Let the rest of them live, sure. But they'll never recover from this—not in a generation, maybe not in two. If I had allowed them to rise to a first-class family again... they'd become a thorn in my future path."

His voice was little more than a hoarse whisper now.

"I don't want these ants—these small-minded fools—interfering with the great destiny I'm building."

A bitter wind passed through the forest, and with it came the flicker of memory—one that even his ruthlessness could not bury.

Flashback – After the Battle at Lang Peak

The smoke had not yet cleared when Bai Xuan stepped down from the skies, sword in hand, robes soaked in blood. The once-mighty Lang Clan's core hall was shattered, its pillars broken, its banners torn.

Gu Siyin stood among the ruins, her eyes filled with disbelief and pain. She looked at him— with hatred.

"Why...?" she asked.

Bai Xuan looked at her, his expression cold, but not without sorrow. He walked toward her slowly, his voice like steel wrapped in silk.

"Only for you, my dear," he said softly, "only because of you, I chose not to destroy the Lang family."

She flinched.

"But the clan leader and the elders tried to kill me. They raised their hands first. So I spared the family… but not its head."

Her fists clenched tightly, her nails biting into her skin.

"I begged you..." she said it to save the leader and elders before their death, her voice cracking.

Bai Xuan turned away, his face unreadable. "And I am protecting my future. You wouldn't understand."

She did understand. That was the worst part.

She had seen the way he looked at her—how his gaze softened only when it met hers. She knew she had stayed his hand from turning the entire mountain into ashes. If not for her, the name of Lang would have vanished from the cultivation world.

But she also knew: if she had pushed him further, demanded more, pleaded longer—

He would've destroyed everything, including her.

So she had remained silent.

And now, standing in the quiet echo of battle, she bore the guilt of partial salvation. She had saved the innocent—but lost the just.

Back to the Forest

Bai Xuan closed the box slowly, slipping it into his sleeve.

He rose to his feet, blood still staining his chin, but his posture regaining its pride.

"Siyin..." he murmured. "You held me back when no one else could. But one day, even you may not be able to stop what I must become."

He vanished into the shadows of the forest, leaving only a faint trace of blood and killing intent behind.
