Delicious tension

Lyanna

I stand there rooted to the ground, my eyes still fixated on his. A thousand shivers run through my spine again when I see him all clad in a three piece grey suit that actually matches with his eyes.

 Oh good gosh..

I swallow hard, as I shamelessly let my eyes travel all over his body. Damn, his hands look so handsome- I mean so nice. He has the most perfectly toned body ever, his legs--

Lyanna, what the fuck is going on with you?

"What happened here?" He asks, his eyes never leaving mine.

The middle-aged man who approached me earlier comes up to him.

"Good morning sir.." he bows slightly, "This lady," he points to me, "came in here and created a scene!"

He finally takes his eyes off me, and looks at the receptionist lady.

"Audrey, what is this behavior? Why are your shoes off?" He shoves his hands into his pockets, then brushes past me, his bodyguard or whoever that is walks behind him.

As he walks past me, I catch a whiff of his cologne.

He smells like heaven, of everything delicious and masculine, and anything in between.

No, Lyanna this isn't right. Isn't this man supposed to be-

I finally get a grip of myself.

"Sir, that lady came in here, and attacked me!" She whined.

I grimace, turning to face her, "No I didn't."

"Shut up miss, you literally came in here and insulted all of us!" Another lady howls.

What the fudge? I literally came here in peace!

Before I can reply, another lady attacks me, calling a ruffian.

"This is the reason you most probably became an outcast! You're an absolute menace!" She barks at me.

"Hold it," Lucien finally speaks up, and the room falls silent again.

"Audrey you're fired. Clear out your desk in the next five minutes," he says without mincing a word.

 "Sir?" She gasps at him.

"I don't repeat myself," he continues walking.

"Ask that young lady to come with me," he adds.

 I blink confused. What's happening?

The other staff members don't say anything, probably because they're so scared, but one by one they all disperse back to their offices, murmuring.

Audrey stands there, her jaw on the floor.

"Hm, serves you right," I chuckle.

"Ma'am. Come over here!" The bodyguard's voice jolts me back to the present.

 "Oh, me?"

They're already far ahead of me now, and the bodyguard guy doesn't reply me.

I look over to where Audrey is. She is already clearing out her desk, with tears in her eyes.

"Oh well," I run after Lucien and his bodyguard.

"Hold on!" I try to catch up with them, but their strides are faster then my runs.

"Phew, you guys!" I breathe heavily as soon as I manage to reach them before they get into the elevator.

"Kael, leave us alone," he orders his bodyguard.

"Yes sir," he bows, before stepping away.

Lucien enters the elevator while I stand outside of it, still in a daze.

"Get in," he puts his hands behind him.

I gently walk in, maintaining distance between us.

After a few minutes of torturing silence, his silky voice finally envelopes the room.

 "And why are you here?"

My breath catches in my throat as I turn to look at him. He is now just a few inches away from me, the surrounding space suddenly feels too small.

"Excuse me?" I try to make my voice sound as firm as possible, and thankfully it stays firm.

"In Texvane. The city of outcasts."

"Why are you here?" I re-direct the question back at him.

"I asked you a question first, young lady," he inches closer, causing me to back up against the elevator wall.

"What the hell is?" I gasp, holding the wall behind me as a support before my kneed buckle.

His hand grabs my chin, "You carry that fiery, stubborn spirit everywhere, don't you?"

My heart is hammering against my rib cage, my head spins as his cologne whiffs through my nostrils, igniting all the chemicals in my brain on fire.

 "What are you talking about?"

"I won't repeat myself again, young lady, why are you here?"

His eyes darken dangerously, his orbs flickering with intense emotions, his jaw tightens.

I don't know why, but his eyes send a thrill of excitement rushing down my veins.

 "I- I was banished," I swallowed.

His lips turn downwards, "Oh really?"

I press my lips together, "Why else would I be here? Would I just come here just because I wanted to explore?" I scowl at him.

A dangerous smile tugs at the corner of his lips, "Fair, fair enough."

The elevator has finally come to a stop. He pulls away from me, and the elevator door opens.

Right before us is a glass window, which seems to be his office.

"And why are you here?" He asks again.

I raise my brows, getting irritated with all his questions.

"Because I obviously needed a job, and that bitch-ass receptionist had the guts to be rude to me!"

I feel the heat of anger rushing back to my cheeks.

 "You need a job, hm?"

"Yes, I literally just said that."

"You're now my new secretary, you resume your duties immediately. Make sure you're here before I am, and you'll leave only when I ask you to. You only get fifteen minutes for a coffee break or whatever, as soon as that time elapses, you are to resume immediately."

I blink, staring at him with my mouth agape, "Wh-"

"I'm not done yet," he raises his hand.

"I usually receive a lot of emails. You have to go through all of them, I mean every single one of them," he pauses.

"Don't worry, your pay is good," he pushes open the door to his office.

"Your office is that way," he points to a cubicle that's a little off farther from his.

"Make sure to always be on the phone, I call at any time," he finally sighs.

"This is too much, I'll definitely die before the months ends!" I manage to say.

"You're my mate. You won't die."

I blink, "Excuse me? I'm not your mate, alright. Stop being so horny, and try to hit on me!"

 "What did you say?"
