That night, Valentin returned home late since he agreed to help Nikolai and Winter on their mission. Worried about the judge, Seojin didn't dare to sleep first. He had to make sure that Valentin returned home safely before sleeping.
Hearing the familiar footsteps, Seojin sighed in relief. He knew that Valentin had a mission today since the judge told him. Seojin knew that he had gone to the village. In his past life, he came across the village when he was on the run for killing his relatives. Cautious, he hid near the village and, coincidentally, saw the atrocities that they committed against the kids. He had to stay low for a while because the police were on his tail, but he couldn't let something like that happen in front of his eyes. One night, he killed all the people of the village and burned the evidence of his crime. The police soon caught on and rushed to the village, but Seojin had long been gone.
Seojin sighed and tried to sleep. His past life wasn't easy at all. After his parents' deaths, he went on a killing rampage, but it didn't lift his rage. Maybe he was too young back then. He didn't regret killing those people because they deserved it. But sometimes, he wondered if there was a better way. He was glad that in this life, he had the judge to support him.
The next morning, it was already the weekend. Valentin asked Seojin to accompany him to the mall to buy some new clothes for the kid. Since Seojin has grown taller, his clothes don't fit him anymore.
They were looking at some shirts in a store when suddenly a woman bumped into Valentin's strong chest.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" a high-pitched voice apologized.
"No worries," Valentin replied. The woman seemed familiar to him, but he couldn't remember who she was. It was a bit annoying that the woman bumped into him on purpose. Her eyes showed that she had an ulterior motive.
The woman gazed up and acted like she was surprised to see Valentin. "What a surprise! I didn't expect to see you here!"
"Who are you?" Valentin asked. He didn't remember having an acquaintance like that.
"I'm Yuna's old friend. We met at the mall last time, don't you remember?" Lily asked, a bit offended. She wasn't as pretty as Yuna, but she was a beauty, too. Men don't normally forget about her. Most of them even ask for her number.
Lily glanced at the man who was accompanying Valentin. It was a handsome young man, but it was a shame since she was only into rich men. She approached closer and grabbed onto Valentin's muscular arm. There was no way that she would let such a good opportunity pass by. She was confident about her seduction skills.
Valentin pushed her away, annoyed and asked, "Where's your boyfriend?"
"I broke up with him," Lily lied.
Who needs her boyfriend when she has a much better choice? The judge was devilishly handsome and was filthy rich. She once met him at a party a year ago, but she found that he was boring and cowardly.
After seeing him again, she cursed herself for judging him too quickly. His red eyes were enchanting, and his muscular body was mouthwatering. He was the embodiment of every girl's dream boyfriend. Saliva threatened to drip from her mouth as she fantasized about what was under Valentin's shirt.
Valentin held Seojin's hand and dragged him out of the store. He didn't want to stay a minute longer with Lily. It was written all over her face that she wanted a relationship with him.
"I think that girl likes you," Seojin said.
"Don't mind her. She likes every man who fits her standards. If you ever see her again, stay away from her," Valentin said.
Seojin nodded. After living with the judge, Seojin forgot that Valentin was a handsome man. It was normal that women would flock around him. He is afraid that when Valentin gets a lover, there won't be any place by his side. In his past life, the only person he trusted was Ji-a, but now he had another person he could trust and rely on. It was great to know that the judge transmigrated for him. But he was afraid that Valentin was forcing himself to do so. He hoped that their relationship would last for a lifetime.
"Maybe I should get myself a girlfriend," Valentin murmured. It would be annoying if Lily were to harass him again. If he had a girlfriend, he wouldn't have to worry about women approaching him. But who will be a good candidate?
"What did you say?" Seojin panicked. Beads of sweat formed on his palms. He knew that this day had to come, but he didn't expect it to be so soon. He wanted to be with the judge a little bit longer. If Valentin had a girlfriend, everything would change. He won't be able to see Valentin as often, and he might have to move out of the penthouse.
Seeing the anxiety in Seojin's blue eyes, Valentin ruffled his hair and smiled kindly. Before, he could reach the kid's head easily, but now he had to raise his arm just to be able to reach his head. Time sure flies fast.
"Nothing. Don't worry, if I ever have a girlfriend, I'll ask you first," Valentin reassured Seojin.
Seojin nodded quietly. Maybe he was too selfish; he wanted the judge for himself. But he knew that he had no right to hinder Valentin's love life. The judge was already kind to him, letting him throw tantrums. He noticed that the judge had been tolerant towards him. If it were other people, Valentin would treat them with the same amount of care.
"Why don't you get a girlfriend? You should enjoy your youth," Valentin added.
Seojin forced a smile. He was still mourning his parents' deaths. Homework was also starting to pile up, so he had no time for a girlfriend. He didn't have energy for it. Additionally, in his past life, he had never fallen in love. He didn't even know what love felt like. Perhaps he was an unusual child and didn't experience this kind of emotion. He was jealous of the people who could love so easily.
