Chapter 33: Divine Worth

Chapter 33: Divine Worth

Perspective: Velkaris

"System," I whispered beneath the crystalline silence of the Reflecting Spire, "give me the exact values. In numbers."

And the system obeyed.

Sacrifices.

Faith.

Everything in this world had a price, and now I wanted the exact exchange rate for souls.

It began simply:

A normal human = 1 sacrifice unit

A Sequence 9 = 5 units

A Sequence 8 = 15 units

A Sequence 7 = 30 units

A Sequence 6 = 60 units

A Sequence 5 = 150 units

A Sequence 4 = 400 units

A Sequence 3 (Demigod) = 1,500 units

A Sequence 2 (Angel) = 3,000 units

A Sequence 1 = 6,000 units

A God (Sequence 0) = Not sacrificable through normal means

I leaned forward, watching divine numbers scroll like scripture.

So much power could be mined from so few deaths... if they were the right deaths.

And then came the faith value per believer, per month:

A normal human = 1 faith point (FP)

A Sequence 9 = 4 FP

A Sequence 8 = 8 FP

A Sequence 7 = 15 FP

A Sequence 6 = 30 FP

A Sequence 5 = 75 FP

A Sequence 4 = 150 FP

A Sequence 3 (Demigod) = 300 FP

A Sequence 2 (Angel) = 700 FP

A Sequence 1 = 1,500 FP

If I could bind an Angel to my cause, I would gain more in a single month than from hundreds of mortals.

"A thousand humans or one demigod," I muttered, "That's the equation."

And beyond them all…

The mythical belief of a god-level entity wasn't calculable.

Not by the system.

Not by logic.

Not by truth.

"So now I understand," I murmured, fingers brushing across the mirrored mask that floated above the altar.

"It's not about quantity. It's about quality. Prestige of the soul."

With the temple now full of whispering mouths and ever-reflecting mirrors, I stared out to sea.

Somewhere beyond the horizon, an Angel was praying to another god.

But soon… they'd be praying to me.
