Chapter 16: Greeting
Chen Feng walked between the white freshman teaching building and the yellow second- and third-year building, the dormitory building now in sight.
The dormitory was expansive, a single structure painted in four colors—white, yellow, purple, and black—representing the living areas for different grades. With six floors, it housed the six grades of the Spirit Department's outer courtyard.
At the entrance, an elderly man sat, dressed in gray cloth, his face so wrinkled it could trap flies. His dim eyes and drooping eyelids gave him a frail, near-death appearance. Basking in the sunlight filtering through the buildings, he looked content.
The old man spoke weakly, "Fourth floor and above are for girls. Boys aren't allowed up there. If caught, you'll be expelled."
Chen Feng nodded, "Understood," and entered the dormitory.
This was Mu En, the leader of Shrek Academy's Sea God Pavilion, a Level 99 Limit Douluo titled Dragon God, one of Douluo Continent's top powerhouses.
Mu En remained still. After Chen Feng left, a glint flashed in his cloudy eyes as he muttered, "Eleven years old, level 33 Spirit power, and a resolute will. Has he found his path? The young are formidable… I wonder if he's created his own Spirit skills."
The dormitories were arranged in a long corridor with numbered doors on both sides. Chen Feng's key read 162, and he quickly located his room.
"Hm?"
He pushed the door open—it was unlocked.
The dormitory was cramped, about ten square meters, dominated by two beds. A table and two metal wardrobes were the only other furnishings. A soul guide lamp on the ceiling lit the space brightly.
A handsome boy with black hair and blue eyes, roughly Chen Feng's age, lounged on one bed, propped against cushions, munching snacks from Shrek City. His belongings were strewn across Chen Feng's bed, and the floor was littered with trash, leaving no clear space to step.
Seeing Chen Feng, the boy noticed his roommate's striking looks, pouted in displeasure, and continued eating.
Chen Feng stepped in and swept the boy's belongings off his bed onto the floor.
"What the hell?! You dare throw my stuff on the ground? You're asking for a beating!" The boy tossed his snacks aside, furious.
Chen Feng raised an eyebrow, smirking disdainfully, "You're not worthy."
Enraged by Chen Feng's scorn, the boy threw a hook punch at his face.
Chen Feng countered with a swift slap to the boy's left cheek, spinning him around and knocking him to the floor. The boy's handsome face swelled red instantly.
Dazed, the boy felt numbness give way to stinging pain. Pampered by his family, he couldn't bear the humiliation. Fury blinding him to their strength gap, he shouted, "You dare hit me? I'll kill you!"
Two yellow Spirit Rings glowed as his blue eyes turned to feline slits, cat ears sprouted, and his hands morphed into clawed paws. A layer of wind enveloped him, his claws gleaming as he lunged at Chen Feng, baring his fangs.
*Bang!*
Chen Feng backhanded another slap, striking the boy's right cheek. Now symmetrically swollen, the boy's face looked comically puffy.
Stunned, he collapsed, clutching his cheeks. The second slap had scrambled his thoughts, leaving his mind blank.
Regaining his senses, he glared at Chen Feng, ready to curse, but the memory of the slaps silenced him.
Chen Feng's gaze was icy. The boy had attacked with his Spirit's full force, unrestrained. A weaker opponent would've been gravely injured.
This spoiled brat, despite decent talent, was utterly unlikable.
Chen Feng asked, "What's your name?"
The boy snorted, "Hmph!"
Chen Feng smirked, raised his hand, and delivered another resounding slap from above.
*Bang!*
Calmly, Chen Feng repeated, "What's your name?"
Stars danced in the boy's vision. No longer defiant, he covered his face and blurted, "Wu Yue! My name's Wu Yue! Stop hitting me, waaah!"
Chen Feng watched Wu Yue cry from the beating, a faint smile curling his lips. For taming a brat, a few slaps worked wonders.
Sitting on his bed, Chen Feng said, "Stand up and clean the trash off the floor. This dorm's turning into a pigsty."
Wu Yue pointed at himself, incredulous. "Me? No way!"
Chen Feng raised his hand again.
"Don't hit me! I'll do it!" Wu Yue scrambled to grab the dorm's broom, sweeping the trash into a dustpan before scurrying out with it.
Grumbling inwardly, Wu Yue thought, How dare he hit me? Just wait!
Chen Feng watched him leave, smiling. Let's see what else you've got up your sleeve.
He planned to teach Wu Yue a thorough lesson now, ensuring the boy wouldn't pester him every few days and disrupt his peace.
"Yueyue, what happened to your face?"
"Guys, my roommate bullied me! Waaah!"
"What? That's unacceptable!"
"Let's go! We'll avenge you!"
Several boys, noble-born peers who'd come to Shrek for experience and knew Wu Yue well, were outraged to see their friend beaten. They rallied to confront Chen Feng.
Some wiser students frowned, worried the situation might escalate.
A quarter-hour later, five boys burst into Chen Feng's dorm, shouting, "You're the one bullying our brother? Get him, guys!"
Seconds later, all five lay wailing on the floor of the cramped dorm.
Chen Feng gripped Wu Yue's neck, lifting him, and addressed the others, "If you don't live here, get out. Or I'll make you."
The four scrambled out, leaving Wu Yue to face Chen Feng alone.
Wu Yue, tears streaming, sobbed, "You traitors, don't leave me! Waaah…"
Chen Feng shut the dorm door. Wails echoed briefly before silence fell.
Outside, the four gulped nervously. "Is Wu Yue… dead?"
"Hard to say."
"We should get a teacher."
Half a minute later, a Spirit Emperor-level teacher arrived, pushed open the door, and began, "You've got some nerve, disregarding Shrek's—"
He froze. Inside, Chen Feng and Wu Yue sat together amicably. The teacher double-checked the door number. "162. I'm not mistaken."
Stepping in, he examined both boys, finding them unharmed and healthy. Before leaving, he warned, "If you want to fight, use the fighting arena. Don't let things get out of hand, or you'll face expulsion."
"Understood, teacher," they replied.
Once the teacher left, Chen Feng deactivated his third Spirit skill, Virtual Sword. Wu Yue, who'd appeared unscathed to the teacher, now sported a bruised, swollen face, looking pitiful. Chen Feng had been precise, inflicting only superficial injuries.
"Wu Yue, you convinced?" Chen Feng asked.
"I'm convinced! You're my big brother now. Man, you were so cool and domineering with those punches!" Wu Yue gazed at Chen Feng with admiration.
Chen Feng stared, thinking, Did I beat this kid senseless?
Meanwhile, in another dorm, Wang Dong looked up at an exasperated Huo Yuhao with a smirk…
