Is the Cult of Diablo FAKE?

Sitting alone in my room, I focused on chakra control—or more accurately, mana control.

Since both mana capacity and control can be improved with consistent effort, that's what I've been grinding during my free time. Well, that and pushing my template Assimilation whenever I can.

And yeah, I think I've figured out why flashy elemental magic basically doesn't exist in this world.

First reason? Mana capacity.

Even though you can raise it through training, there's still a ceiling. Most people just don't have enough mana to really stand out from non-magical ones.

But the real problem is mana control.

The moment mana leaves your body, it starts to disperse into the air almost immediately. You need ridiculous precision to shape and direct it externally. And honestly, the majority of people don't have even a basic level of that control.

I've got a theory about why it's so hard.

This world didn't originally have mana. It only appeared after the world-collision event. So maybe the environment itself isn't fully compatible with it yet. Maybe the people here aren't either. It's like the world and the mana system haven't properly synced, even after all this time.

Which probably explains why most people stick to using mana to boost their physical stats instead of trying to shoot fire from their hands. It's easier, safer, and most importantly, it actually works.

In fact, I think that's the real reason behind the whole possession incident.

Those kids are descendants of the three heroes, right? And from what I remember, the heroes themselves were the result of some twisted experiment involving the cells of a demon—or maybe a witch? I'm not sure, but either way, she was experimented using the remains of a magical beast.

Now imagine that genetic mess being passed down.

The descendants probably have way more mana than their bodies are built to handle. But without the control to properly regulate it, that mana starts to overflow and then goes wild. The result is that their bodies morph into something monstrous, probably because of the original creature's DNA or essence inside them.

It's not really possession. It's more like mana overload mixed with corrupted bloodlines. Kind of like a system crash happening inside a human body.

That said, there is a way around it. With immense magical control, someone can suppress the possession effect. Cid is the perfect example. He didn't just stop the overload, he mastered it. His "I Am Atomic" attack proves he can use mana externally with pinpoint precision. That kind of control is insane, but not impossible.

This means elemental magic—casting fireballs or launching wind blades, for example—should theoretically be possible without needing an artifact. But to pull it off, you'd need three things:

1. A massive mana reserve

2. Near-absolute control over that mana

3. A body that can handle the strain

Honestly, with enough years of training and the right conditions, I think someone must have achieved it before. Not many, maybe, but a few. The best candidates would be elves or beastkin. They live way longer than humans, which gives them way more time to master control.

Unfortunately, there's a catch.

Even though those long-lived races should have the time and potential to reach that level, the constant wars make it nearly impossible. Every few years, some new conflict breaks out, usually between humans and the other races. A few human kingdoms remain neutral or even friendly, but most see non-humans as enemies.

So even if an elf or beastkin could reach that advanced control, the odds of them living long enough to do it are low. The Cult of Diablos probably made that worse, maybe even encouraged the wars to keep the races divided. After all, it benefits them if no one becomes strong enough to challenge their dominance over mana.

No wonder no one even tries to use mana externally. Everyone's been spoon-fed the same belief for generations: that it's just not possible.

But that's the thing—it's not impossible.

Cid was a reincarnator. He'd seen fiction, games, anime—worlds where people bent mana and energy to their will. So when he landed here, he didn't care about what people thought was "normal." He broke the rule.

Because for him, there was no rule. Just a limitation everyone else accepted without question. And the scary part? He wasn't wrong. His attacks, like "I Am Atomic," prove that mana can be used without artifacts if your control and reserves are on another level.

The only reason people don't do it is because they've been taught not to try.

Taught that external mana use is fantasy or suicide. Maybe both.

You know… the more I think about it, the more it feels like there's a lot more happening behind the scenes than what the anime shows.

The Cult of Diablos? They looked too weak and too chaotic to be running a conspiracy this massive. They manipulated nations, caused wars, experimented with bloodlines—but couldn't even organize their own ranks properly.

So… what if they weren't the real masterminds?

What if the Cult of Diablos was just a front? A decoy faction—something flashy and evil-looking that you throw at the world so people stop digging deeper once they "uncover the truth." Basically, a convenient scapegoat.

It'd be a genius move, honestly. Let the cult act as the fall guys. If anyone gets too close to the actual truth, they just find the cult and think, "Ah, this must be it." Meanwhile, the real puppetmasters are chilling behind the scenes, untouched and unexposed.

Yeah… now that I'm thinking about it, it wouldn't surprise me if the cult was just one branch of a much older, much smarter organisation. One that's been rewriting history and feeding lies for centuries.

Yeah… this goes deeper than it looks.

And honestly?

It's gonna be way more fun than I thought.
