Ning Wei’s Identity was Too Troublesome

The traffic was bad, but fortunately, they managed to reach the hospital before something bad happened to Feng An Yu.

Fu Ming Shi parked his car and turned to Ning Wei. "I'll take him. Xiao Wei, you should wait in the car." His gaze shifted to Feng An Yu before he turned to Ning Wei again. "Xiao Wei, you are too popular to be seen in public."

As the group's manager, Fu Ming Shi could imagine what would happen if Ning Wei were seen walking into the hospital while dragging such a good-looking man with her.

The paparazzi would come up with a lot of nonsense.

The netizen would come up with a lot of speculations.

Her fans would go crazy.

And the company would be in chaos.

Ning Wei nodded. "I'll listen to your arrangement." He had already troubled Fu Ming Shi enough. It was time for her to be obedient. Moreover… She was planning to ask Fu Ming Shi to send her over to Ling Shuang's place. 

Fu Ming Shi alighted from the car before taking Feng An Yu with him.

Five minutes later, Fu Ming Shi returned to the car in a good mood.

Ning Wei could not hide her surprise when Fu Ming Shi slid into the driver's seat while humming a familiar tune. She blinked a few times as if she could not believe her eyes.

"That was fast," Ning Wei commented. Her eyes narrowed when she heard the Manager's chuckle. "Brother Fu, don't tell me that you have thrown that man at the hospital's entrance?" 

Fu Ming Shi shot Ning Wei a look. "What kind of person do you think I am? Would I leave a person at the hospital entrance just like that?"

Ning Wei did not answer. 

Years of knowing Fu Ming Shi told her that her manager was someone who would abandon a stranger. All Fu Ming Shi cared about was his artists.

"Don't worry about him." Fu Ming Shi turned the ignition. "I took the man to the emergency room and told those who were in charge that he was drugged. Then, one of the doctors there seemed to recognize him. I left once I was sure that he was in capable hands."

Ning Wei leaned on her seat again. Her thoughts were on the man she met at the club earlier.

She hoped that he would be fine.

However, she doubts that she would be meeting Feng An Yu again. The man was half-conscious and would not remember her face.

The car left the parking spot and soon entered the main road.

Ning Wei snapped out of her thoughts and remembered her meeting with Ling Shuang.

"Brother Fu."

"Hmm?"

"Turn left at the intersection."

Fu Ming Shi met Ning Wei's eyes through the mirror and raised a brow. "Why? We should turn right if we're heading to your place."

"I'm not going back to my place. I'm meeting a friend," Ning Wei said. "It's urgent."

"What friend?" Fu Ming Shi was not too happy when he found out that he would have to head to another place.

"It's related to my family," Ning Wei said. "My friend said she might have some clue. Brother Fu, I'll send you the address." She lowered her head and started tapping her fingers on her phone. 

Fu Ming Shi's heart skipped a beat.

He knew the reason Ning Wei entered the entertainment industry at the beginning had something to do with her family. Back then, Ning Wei said that she would retire from the entertainment industry once she found what she was looking for.

In the past, Fu Ming Shi would have been happy to know about Ning Wei's plan.

Ning Wei's identity was too troublesome, and Fu Ming Shi did not want to imagine what would happen if her identity were exposed. But now… DAWN is getting popular.

They can win an award next year.

Fu Ming Shi did not know if he wanted Ning Wei to quit.

Recently, he could see that Ning Wei was enjoying her time with the boys and surrounded by her fans.

Won't she change her mind about quitting?

The boys… It wouldn't be fair to them if Ning Wei were to leave this early. Not when they were doing so well. 

He thought that the group would go on for a few more years before Ning Wei would quit. He hoped that Ning Wei would consider staying.

"The clues that your friend found," Fu Ming Shi said when he saw Ning Wei putting down her phone again. "Is it reliable?"

"I don't know." Ning Wei chuckled. "That's why I have to go and take a look."

Fu Ming Shi watched Ning Wei briefly before he continued to focus on his driving.

A sigh escaped his lips.

Fu Ming Shi shook his head and sighed softly.

In the end, he decided not to think of matters of the future.

Ning Wei said her friend got some clues about her family. They haven't confirmed whether the people that her friend had found were Ning Wei's family members.

As the manager, he should be focusing on the group's current plan.

The car pulled over in front of an apartment building.

Ning Wei was about to leave and find her friend when she heard Fu Ming Shi calling her name.

"How long are you going to stay here?" Fu Ming Shi asked. "Should I wait for you?"

It was getting late. Fu Ming Shi did not think that it would be appropriate for Ning Wei to grab a cab.

"Brother Fu, don't worry about me. I will be staying the night at my friend's place."

"Hey!" Fu Ming Shi was alarmed.

"I know." Ning Wei raised both hands to stop Fu Ming Shi from scolding her. "It'll be safe for me to stay here. I'll be very careful." She pushed the door open and paused. "I'll text you when I get home next morning.

"Xiao Wei!"

Without waiting for Fu Ming Shi to complain, Ning Wei alighted from the car and left.
