Elements, although fewer in number than comprehensible Intents in the Main World, were far more organized and pure. There were only a few dozen Elements for which Mages could cultivate with the necessary affinity, but there was a near-endless number of Sub-Elements.

Best part of all was that the Sub-Elements were directly derived from their Parent-Elements, meaning they were nowhere near as scattered as the countless Intents in the Main World. Consequently, this made it far easier to comprehend many of the Sub-Elements while relying on one's understanding of the Parent-Element.

However, for normal Mages, you had to have the proper affinity for the Element in question to gain access to the relevant Sub-Elements. Moreover, you had to have additional, lesser affinities for the specific Sub-Elements to cultivate them.

Although the affinity required for the Sub-Elements was far less stringent than for the Parent-Element, you nonetheless needed it.
