Chapter 60: The Small Disturbance Caused by the Bounty Posters

Chapter 60: The Small Disturbance Caused by the Bounty Posters

The News Coos grinned, accepting coin after coin as they pulled newspapers from their satchels and handed them to the surrounding crowd.

After getting their papers, the citizens eagerly opened them. The next moment, they froze, their faces stiff with disbelief.

Printed on the newspaper in bold letters was:

"Red-Haired" Shanks, with a bounty of over one billion Berries, encountered Marine Hero Garp near Elegia in the East Blue.

He retreated fully after a great battle!

"..."

During the battle, a young man named Louis burned Vice Admiral Garp's warship, causing numerous casualties!

Soon, the people snapped out of their daze, still in disbelief.

"That 'Red-Haired' Shanks, who destroyed a kingdom, actually escaped from the Marine Hero?!"

"At this rate, isn't he on par with the Pirate King?!"

"And this really handsome young man, he actually set fire to Vice Admiral Garp's warship during the battle!"

"He caused quite a few casualties... no wonder he got such a high bounty!"

"What a waste of that face! Why does a vicious criminal have to be so handsome?!"

After reading the contents of the newspaper, many people turned their attention back to the bounty posters.

On one, it was written:

"Archangel" Louis

Bounty: 53,000,000 Berries

Dead or Alive!

"53,000,000 Berries?!"

"Are the Five Elders just sitting on their hands?"

In the nearest Marine branch to Elegia, Garp looked at the bounty poster in his hand, almost losing his composure. For someone this dangerous, the World Government had only issued a bounty of 53 million Berries. If this wasn't sick, what was?

Just then, his adjutant, Bogard, pushed open the door and walked in. "They probably want to prevent the monsters in the depths of the New World from noticing how unusual he is and recruiting him into their ranks, which would expand their power," he answered in a deep voice.

"Especially those two monsters, Kaido of the Beasts and Whitebeard."

To this, Garp picked his nose, looking as if he scoffed at the idea. "If they have time for these petty tricks, they'd be better off sending a few more people to search for that little brat."

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku has already sent Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Tsuru to the East Blue, along with CP agents with special Paramecia abilities," Bogard explained. Fleet Admiral Sengoku had taken Garp's suggestion and had already discussed with the World Government how to handle the extremely troublesome Louis.

Hearing this, Garp's expression softened considerably. He then asked Bogard, "Did you find anything special after going to Elegia?"

Garp remembered that the brat named Louis had flown out from the direction of Elegia. Therefore, he had sent his adjutant there to gather more detailed intelligence.

After hearing Garp's question, Bogard took a piece of paper from his suit pocket. "The king and citizens of Elegia were very cooperative with my investigation."

"They said that the young man named Louis did not come to Elegia alone. He was accompanied by many beautiful young girls who also had wings growing from their lower backs. They attracted a lot of attention there and even appeared at that concert. But just as we appeared, he caused a lot of destruction, leading to the death of Elegia's new star."

Garp frowned. "Is this information accurate?"

Bogard shook his head. "I have a faint feeling that King Gordon was hiding something, but the answers I got from the citizens were all more or less the same."

Although he was Garp's adjutant, he was still a military officer and not as professional as Cipher Pol. Without using force, it was difficult to get the desired information. But his subjects were not pirates, but citizens. Of course, he couldn't use force on them.

To this, Garp nodded thoughtfully. "In that case, let CP investigate here!"

New World - Whole Cake Island.

In the Whole Cake Chateau.

Under the dim lights, a massive, bloated figure lay sideways on the ground. The queen of Whole Cake Island—Charlotte Linlin—looked at the newspaper and bounty poster, which seemed rather small in her hand, and a smile that would make most children cry spread across her face.

"Ma~ma~mamama~"

"That apprentice brat from Roger's ship."

"Hurry up and come to the New World. I can't wait to teach you a lesson..." As she spoke, corrosive liquid dripped from her cavernous mouth, eating into the floor and creating charred pits from which wisps of green smoke rose.

"This little brat whose beauty is no less than mine in my youth..."

"A Mythical Zoan, Model: Seraph, you say?"

A moment later, Charlotte Linlin spoke again, her words chilling. "Perospero~"

"I'm here, Mama," a tall, thin man holding a candy cane staff in front of Big Mom responded.

"Keep an eye out. When this little brat enters the New World, bring him to Whole Cake Island!"

"Yes, Mama," the tall, thin man replied.

On the deck of the Moby Dick.

A burly man with a crescent-moon-shaped mustache and long, graying hair looked at the newspaper in his hand, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"That red-haired brat from Roger's ship?"

The man named Edward Newgate recalled the past, when this red-haired brat and another blue-haired, red-nosed brat had teamed up to try and take his head. "How nostalgic..."

Wano Country, Onigashima.

A black silhouette, as burly as a small mountain with oni horns on its head, casually tossed aside a white-haired girl who had lost consciousness. He then took the latest newspaper and bounty poster from a tall, blond young man.

The monster named Kaido sat down on the ground with a thud. He took out the gourd on his back, took a swig of sake, and casually looked at the newspaper.

"Escaped from that mad dog Garp's hands?"

"Worororo!"

"He's quite capable, that apprentice brat from Roger's crew!"

"Hm?" A different section of the newspaper caught Kaido's attention.

"Human-Human Fruit, Mythical Zoan, Model: Seraph... Burned Garp's ship, causing heavy casualties?"

The words "Mythical Zoan" instantly sobered Kaido up from his drunken stupor. The next moment, a ferocious grin spread across his face, and he tossed the matter of Roger's apprentice brat to the back of his mind. He pulled out the bounty poster of the golden-haired boy.

When he saw the wings on the boy's back, the flames coiling around his body, and the dazzling halo, Kaido couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Worororo!"

"A Mythical Zoan! He must be made to serve me!"

Seeing this, the blond young man shouted excitedly, "Boss, I'll go and tie that guy up and bring him back!"

Kaido heard him, glanced at the blond boy, and let out a scoff. "It's still a little too early for you to leave Wano on your own, Jack."

...

Not far away, a tall man, completely covered in leather and wearing a specific mask, held a copy of the same bounty poster as Kaido, examining it closely.

His gaze was fixed on the flames coiling around the wings on the boy's back. He was lost in thought.

A moment later, he extended the jet-black wings from his own back, comparing them to the snow-white wings in the photo...
