Shadow Gun Arc: Two

[⚠️ Suspicious Content] "I wanna spar! I WANNA SPAR!! I WANNA SPPAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

Shadow looked at the little demon child who screamed in his living room as he sat on his recliner. He got up, body exhausted, hunched back, face slopped as he made his way to the kitchen. He had a nice little home; because of his employment, he made good income but since it was just him, no lover, no spouse, no Alpha, there was no need to get such a big house. But if it was like this to have children then maybe he was okay with being single.

He opened the refrigerator and stuck his head inside, looking for his favorite beer. He didn't have to look far, Night Watch was on the front row, the second row, and bottom row. On the shelves of the refrigerator, were blood bags which he was running out of. He was lucky Sous didn't drink blood; her being one/fifth of it helped tremendously.

"'Watch Sous', Monica said. 'It'll be fun', Monica said." Shadow mocked. He looked back at the demon child from the kitchen.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

"Tsk." He went to the cabinet and pulled out his favorite mug: No 1 Gun Slinger was written on the mug. He opened his beer and filled up the mug and walked back into the living room. Slamming himself into the recliner, he frowned at the demon child. After he took a chug of his favorite liquid beverage, he sighed and inclined in the chair.

"Little Brat, listen 'em, we sparred for two hours today. I'm done. When you get older, I'm getting you a gun and some silver bullets."

Sous looked at the man Monica dropped her off with, claiming he was her best friend. She could smell he was also an Omega like Monica. And she liked how half of his face was like a wolf and the other half was a vampire. She wondered if that's how she would have looked if she was only mixed with two things.

"I wanna kill as many wolves as I can-"

Shadow sat up in his chair and took hold of Sous' arm. He pulled her in to him to make sure she would hear what he would say.

"The wolves in the Apex Pack are bad but that doesn't mean all are bad. The packs here in Nadia are prosperous and kind. Look at me. I'm kind."

"Hmm, you're okay…"

Shadow's eyebrow twitched.

Knock, knock!

The house went silent. Shadow looked over at the digital clock that stood on the coffee table before him. The clock read eight o'clock; in fact, about time for Sous to get to bed. That was the time his mother sent him to bed when he was a child.

The two knocks took place again on the door. They exchanged looks with Shadow getting off the chair with the mug still in his hand. He opened the door; one of his glocks on his belt, just in case.

The door was opened just a tad bit for him to see out.

Sous watched in the living room. "Just open the door already!"

"Shut up!" He growled.

The door pushed open and a tall man with white hair that was long, all the way down to his knees; he wore part of the hair in a pony tail where the other portion hung low. He walked with a gain and his clothes were that of a suit from a different era. Sous scrunched her nose at the man.

The man seemed unimpressed when he entered Shadow's home. He closed the door behind him and Shadow went back to his chair. Watching their interaction, Sous was able to assume they were cordial with one another. She met the eyes of the man and he gave an awkward smile as if it was something he wasn't used to doing.

"What is that thing?" He asked Shadow.

Shadow shrugged even though he in fact knew what Sous was.

"I'm a wolf, vampire, human, witch, pixie or fairy." Sous answered on her own behalf. "I keep forgetting." She mumbled that part.

The man who had the scent of a vampire simply looked at her then turned back to Shadow.

Sous was in her room as she was instructed to go by Shadow. She didn't mind; she knew grown folks were talking. Maybe Shadow wasn't very close to his wolf side because he would have known that the walls weren't nearly thick enough to prevent Sous from hearing what they were talking about. So she sat on her bed and heard the conversation between the two men. The vampire, Sous, had found out his name was Clarence. He was from another vampire village nearby and apparently they were having issues with wolves from the Canas border.

"The wolves from the Apex Pack." Shadow said to Clarence.

"They killed our guards, Shadow, and they were wolves. We hired wolves to guard our village? We reached out to the province to see what they can do since these wolves are coming across the border illegally and causing havoc-for what?"

Sous gritted her teeth, listening to what they were saying. They were going to come for her and she wasn't going to be weak like the last time. Shadow was an asshole but she was starting to like him-kind of…and Monica, Monica helped her escape. Monica had to kill her own members of her pack just to protect Sous.

"Something has to gi-"

"I'm coming with you!"

Clarence was interrupted with Sous standing before the two men; she saw her resolve and Clarence wasn't sure if he was seeing things but tiny little blue particles fluttered around her. He shook his head. He chalked it up to just not being used to being around other species. But her little fist being balled up made him believe she could actually do something; instead of inviting her to come along with Shadow on this mission, he smiled at her. He walked to her and knelt down to her level.

"I'm ignorant to people like you. I stay in my own little world of vampires. I like your determination." Clarence got back up, his cane thumping the ground. He nodded his head to Shadow and left the home.

The next morning, Shadow and Sous walked into town to buy some items. Shadow needed blood and he wanted Sous to get some spell books. He didn't tell Sous but when she got emotional, little magic particles surrounded her. Usually kids would learn to control their magic abilities when they went to school but that wasn't for another several months. The last thing Shadow wanted was for Sous to do something she wasn't able to control and with all that happened to her, that was only a matter of time. Getting her some spell books would help her focus her magic on actually learning some basic spells.

"Hmm." Shadow's ears drooped, his mouth a frown, and a sweat drop came over him when he looked at the prices for the training wands. They stood inside of a wand store where mostly witches and wizards tended to hang out and congregate. Sous was holding the three books Shadow had bought at the spell book store a couple of stores down: Alchemy, Herbology, and Four Elemental Spells. These were the basics students often started off with when going to school. He pulled out his wallet.
