After He Mei had the drink, she felt uneasy. She looked at Su Ruowan and smiled, "Wan Wan, I'll head to the restroom. Excuse me."

Su Ruowan, having achieved her goal, didn't intend to stall He Mei any longer. She thus nodded, "Go on, Mei Mei."

He Mei walked towards the restroom while Su Ruowan smirked behind her back. Su Ruowan's eyes met that of the assistant serving the beverages and the other party also smiled in affirmation.

When He Mei returned from the restroom, she saw Su Ruowan stumbling on her feet. He Mei smirked. 'What did Su Ruowan think? How could she, He Mei be deceived by the same person in the same circumstances again? Wouldn't she be a fool if she did so?'

While Su Ruowan bribed the assistant to drug her drink, He Mei got the main person of the beverage counter to switch the drinks while the assistant wasn't paying attention. Now seeing Su Ruowan, it seemed that the drug was already taking effect.

Su Ruowan still didn't realize that she had gotten the taste of her own medicine. She felt her head spinning as she bumped into a table full of food creating a huge mess.

"Are you blind? Don't you see where you're walking? See how you've ruined my entire dress!" A woman in her late 20s who was seated at the table, roared at Su Ruowan. He Mei saw a stain as big as a hand on the woman's dress. It was no wonder that the woman was angry. Who wouldn't be?

Meanwhile Su Ruowan had no idea what she was getting herself into. She scanned the woman up and down as if assessing her look.

The woman instantly grew furious on seeing Su Ruowan's actions. 'Was this woman judging her? How dare she! Who was she to judge her after making a mess of her clothes? A woman who couldn't even hold her liquor well! What good was she! If you don't have a good alcohol tolerance, you shouldn't drink that much!'

"Tch! Your dress? I bet you bought that dress in a third-rate store, hmm? Why are you getting so angry for such a dress?"

When the woman heard Su Ruowan's words, her anger flared up. Her face turned red as she didn't know how someone could be so shameless. Instead of apologizing, this bitch was mocking her dress?

The woman laughed in anger, "I wonder where this poor and ignorant thing came from! Any sane person with the knowledge of brands can tell that my dress is of LV. How could you not tell? Did you come from the streets?"

LV was a brand highly praised by the socialites. Moreover, why would someone of high social standing not care about her status and come to such a party wearing a local dress?

Su Ruowan's face was green with envy as she knew the fact that the woman was wearing LV. She had just spouted the words without thinking as she was jealous of the woman for being able to wear the dress. Su Ruowan was not in the right frame of mind to understand that the woman could retort her, leaving her ashamed. She just wanted to speak her mind.

Su Ruowan felt indignant. Why did the rich get everything so easily. Why did she have to dream about the dress, but not be able to afford it? Why did the rich get their way everywhere? The poor had to suffer while the rich could enjoy all the luxuries.

Su Ruowan didn't understand that most of the rich people had made their way up by working hard. Generally, the chairman of the company worked twice as hard as the employees. So, they hadn't gotten everything for free. Instead, they had worked damn hard for it. But people like Su Ruowan who wanted everything spoon-fed to them didn't understand the concept of working hard. Such people were bound to take shortcuts to climb up the social ladder and one day they would fall down from the height as their success wasn't earned by them.

The woman didn't stop and looked at Su Ruowan up and down, same as the latter had done to her. "Oh, it seems that your dress comes from a third-rate store, right?"

Su Ruowan's face turned red. It was true that her dress was the third-rate one. Moreover, Su Ruowan had to buy it at the cheapest price as possible, just to get in the party. The dress looked as if it was branded but it wasn't. It was a first copy of the brand.

Normally, nobody would have paid attention to this but since Su Ruowan had provoked the woman, the latter noticed it and humiliated Su Ruowan in front of everyone.

Su Ruowan blamed He Mei for her plight. If only He Mei had bought her a proper dress for the party just like she always did, she wouldn't be in this position. But He Mei left her resulting in the current situation where she was mocked by others.

Su Ruowan didn't accept that if she hadn't messed with the woman, none of this would have happened. Instead, she blamed everything on He Mei. 

At this time, He Mei stepped forward and apologized to everyone who had surrounded the women for watching the show. "I'm sorry everyone. This is my acquaintance. To not disrupt the party anymore, I'll bring her out."

He Mei was about to touch Su Ruowan to help her stand properly, but the latter just pushed her away. He Mei was wearing high heels, so she couldn't stabilize herself and fell down. She closed her eyes waiting for the pain to strike her, but what she felt was a pair of sturdy hands holding her.

He Ning and Xia Xiu had already arrived at the scene when they heard the commotion. However, when they saw the scene in front of them, their eyes dimmed.

"Are you alright?" A hoarse voice rang in He Mei's ear and she felt goosebumps appear on her body.
