Forgotten Sage Clan?!

Eastern Dragon Country…

Clark Family Palace…

Inside the lavish meeting hall, the patriarch Simon sat on a throne-like seat. Beside him, his son Peter was busy attending to several communication lines on his crystal communication device.

"What did you say?" Peter cried out in anger after hearing news from the other side of the line.

"Yes, Young Master… Leo has escaped into the Abandoned Country. We already scanned the entire buffer zone. He left a message before escaping," the fat-bellied elder named Mike reported from the other end.

"What message? And what the hell were you doing while he was escaping into the Abandoned Country?"

"Master, if Leo wants to escape, no one can stop him. You also know that. As for the message… I'm sending the picture to you. Please take a look."

Mike disconnected the call after saying that.

The next second, a beep rang out as Peter received a video message.

Peter hurriedly moved his finger to view the message. He saw a strange, black rock with blood-red words written on it:

"One life is enough to kill."

Phat—the communication crystal dropped from Peter's hands after reading the message. His body began to tremble in fear.

Slowly, Patriarch Simon stood up and picked up the communication device. After reading the message, the patriarch began laughing loudly.

"The boy lives up to his name," Simon muttered while placing the device on the table.

"Father… what should we do now? It seems like Leo found out about our betrayal," Peter asked in a trembling tone.

"This is why I warned you in the first place. You said Leo would be killed as soon as he finished the task. It was all your failure, son," the patriarch Simon said as he lit a cigar.

"I'm sorry, Father… I underestimated Leo. As per our plan, when Leo killed the Skull Organisation head, our Clark Family was supposed to be the first to take action against him to prove our innocence. But I never expected Leo would be able to escape from a world-class bounty. What should I do now, Father? Should I send assassins into the Abandoned Country?" Peter asked again, staring at his father with hope.

"Don't worry… I'm sure that Leo still doesn't know about the betrayal we committed. Also, Leo will die inside the Abandoned Country because of the radiation. So, follow our plan and occupy the crystal mining sites belonging to the Skull Organisation as soon as possible," the patriarch Simon Clark declared as he stood up from the throne.

"Yes, Father," Peter said in a relieved tone.

"Patriarch…"

John Clark, the brother of the patriarch, stepped inside the grand hall.

"Is there any news of Leo or the Organisation?" Simon asked in a weak tone.

"Not yet, Brother," John replied.

"Then you may leave… Inform me if there's news from the Frost Family or the Skull Family," Simon instructed.

"Brother, that isn't why I'm here. Our family soldiers captured the old man who was living with Leo. The old man wants to speak with you. Should I bring him?" John asked with a questioning look.

The patriarch Simon raised his eyebrows slightly. The old man who had been living with Leo had never spoken to any outsider until now. Simon didn't understand what he could possibly want to say at this point.

"Bring him in…"

The old man, tied with a glowing rope, was dragged inside the hall.

"Tell me, old man, what is it? If it's not worth my father's time, you're going to die right away," Peter said as he moved close to the captured old man.

The old man, breathing heavily, slowly raised his head and stared directly at the patriarch.

"Simon," the old man addressed the patriarch by name.

"You made a big mistake by turning against Leo. Greed has covered your eyes. But remember my words… One life is enough to kill. One life is enough to take revenge… The evil you've done will bring the carnage of the last remaining heir of the Sage Clan…"

Shkkk—

Suddenly, Peter moved his dagger and sliced the old man's throat.

"Bloody nonsense… How dare this old shoe call my father by name!"

"Idiot!"

The patriarch slapped his son with a frustrated grunt.

"What happened, Father?" Peter asked with an angry look.

But only silence followed.

Patriarch Simon sat back on the throne and continued to stare at the dead body of the old man.

The last words spoken were ringing in his ears like a curse.

"The Sage Clan… why? Why, out of all possibilities…?"

Simon muttered, as haunting images from his childhood resurfaced in his mind.

"What's wrong, Brother? I've never seen you like this. Did we make a mistake?"

Finally, the silent brother John asked the patriarch with a serious expression.

"The Sage Clan is one of the three Yogic Clans that were wiped out in old India. The Skull Organisation was the culprit behind that massacre.

According to this old man, Leo belongs to the fallen Sage Clan, and he actually killed the Skull Organisation head for revenge," the patriarch Simon explained in a weak tone.

Peter continued to stare at his father in confusion, unable to grasp the gravity of the situation.

But John—the elder brother of the patriarch—understood very clearly what had just happened.

"One life is enough to kill… One life is enough to kill…

God, now I understand the meaning of that message,"

John cried out in fear.

"John, we absolutely cannot allow Leo to survive in the Abandoned Country. We must do everything in our power to kill him! Otherwise, we'll be facing the devil in the future… So we absolutely—absolutely—cannot allow him to survive!"

The patriarch stood up and declared in a loud tone.

John immediately took out his crystal pad from his waist and connected it to the Dragon Division.

Instantly, more than ten holograms appeared on the screen.

"Ready the battleship…

Pass the command…

Send the top ten assassins of the Dragon Division to kill Leo.

Begin preparations immediately."
