So What?!

"According to my memories, I must have reached the Old Sea Bay Region. If my guess is right, there must be a big city nearby. It's better to rest for tonight and find a path of survival tomorrow," Leo said to himself as he made preparations for sleep.

He chose a small trench near the Blackwood tree and covered the area around him with rocks arranged in a specific pattern. He removed his crystal watch and placed it on the tree stump. It would detect the movement of any creatures and sound a warning.

After setting everything in place, Leo lay down inside the trench and covered himself with dark tree branches. From a distance, it would appear like normal flat-ground.

Due to exhaustion, he fell into a deep-slumber within moments.

The morning was peaceful, with a clear sky. But the atmosphere was soon disturbed by unusual vibrations originating from a long distance.

In the distant horizon, two human figures were seen running in fear.

One was a white-robed elderly lady, whose hair had already turned half white. The person beside her was a young girl.

Fear was evident on their faces as they fled from some kind of danger.

Bang!!!

The elderly lady's body crashed into the ground, leaving a long trail of blood along the path. They were now close to where Leo had been sleeping.

"Aunt Ila… are you okay?"

Streaks of tears stained the young lady's face as she saw the bleeding shoulder of the elderly woman.

"Princess Sony, do not worry about me. Leave… escape before that bastard catches up to you," the elderly lady said in a weak and frail tone, biting down on the tip of her tongue to bear the pain.

"No! How can I abandon you just like that? If not for you, Aunt, I would have died long ago. I won't leave without you," the young lady replied, shaking her head.

With an emotional sigh, the elderly woman took the support of the young lady and began moving forward. Soon, they picked up the pace and crossed the area where Leo was sleeping.

The crystal watch had already begun giving warning alarms… but Leo was in a deep sleep. [Even world-class assassins can't escape the joy of sleep. What a pity…]

The elderly lady fell to the ground again, just a few meters ahead. This time, she completely lost the will to continue.

"Princess… I can't go any further. You must not let emotions affect you.

This old woman pledged to save your life—it is an honor to die for you.

If anything were to happen to you, I would feel a lifetime's worth of guilt and shame.

Hurry up and leave…" she cried in a pained voice while pushing the white-dressed princess forward.

"Catch them… HAHAHAHA!"

A dark, cold voice, accompanied by a mocking laugh, rang out from a long distance.

Upon hearing that laugh, the pupils of the white-clothed princess shrank. She turned around in terror.

Three figures wearing thick black clothes rushed toward them with angry roars.

The fallen elderly lady began to shed tears. She clearly knew that there was no way to escape now.

The princess also understood that she would not survive today's calamity.

She tightly gripped the dark metal sword in her hand and stood, waiting for the enemy to approach.

Among the three black-robed figures, the man in front was lustfully staring at the princess, his heart racing with excitement to catch her and indulge in pleasure.

But in his lustful frenzy, he completely overlooked the crystal watch, which was glowing beside the tree. He directly stepped on Leo's body, still lying in deep sleep inside the trench.

The man didn't notice anything and continued running forward. The other two followed behind him with sharp swords in hand.

"William, you will definitely die like a dog one day," the princess cried, lifting her sword.

"Don't worry about my death, Sony. After enjoying your body and occupying your tribe, nobody will dare touch me," the leading man—William—said as he stopped in front of the white-clothed princess.

"I dare you to touch her!"

The elderly lady, while sitting on the ground, held her sword upright in defense.

As they engaged in verbal confrontation, the princess's eyes shifted behind William.

"Which of you idiots stepped on my chest?"

Leo asked in a casual tone while retrieving the crystal watch from the tree.

The three black-robed men turned around in surprise after hearing Leo's voice.

Only then did they realize the presence of another person.

"A normal human figure…" William muttered as he observed Leo from head to toe.

The main difference between Dark Humans and the humans living in the outside crystal world was their body color. The people of the abandoned country had purple lips, a sign of crystal radiation exposure.

That's why they were all shocked to see a normal human, unaffected by the radiation in the abandoned country's environment.

But soon, the surprise on William's face faded. His usual arrogant smirk returned.

"I'm the one who stepped on you. So what? Who asked you to hide like a rat underground?

You don't know who I am—I can kill you with a snap.

Now kneel, and wait for my judgment. After I finish this beauty, I'll deal with you," William said sternly, turning back toward the princess.

Leo remained silent for a minute, contemplating whether to act or not.

He wasn't in the mood to kill the man and risk making himself a target of the local tribes.

But taking a step back might make him appear weak.

"Are you going to apologize or not? I'm giving you one last chance," Leo said firmly, a serious look in his eyes.

"Bastard, how dare you ask me to apologize? My father is the clan master of the Night Owl Tribe—we have more than 17,000 hunters. One word… just one word… and you'll be hunted like a dog! Kneel down now!"

William shouted while pointing a threatening finger at Leo.

He thought Leo would cower after hearing the name Night Owl Tribe—but Leo's expression didn't even flinch.

'SHOOOKKK!'

A crystal arrow, shining like a fiery beam of light, pierced straight through William's chest in the next second.
