Setting: Emberpath Ridge — the route toward the Emberforge
Time: Morning after Vel'Asheira's awakeningSky: Gray, overcastWind: Cold, metallicFlame Sync: Weakening
Lyra sat by the stream, staring at her sword.
The blade that once cut through sorcerers, beasts, and silence itselfnow flickered, cracked with dull flame veins.
It pulsed against her palm like a dying heartbeat.
Ever since the Sixth Flame had awakened,Lyra could feel her weapon… resisting her.
As if the world had changed—and it no longer wanted her old strength.
Kael approached.
"You okay?"
Lyra didn't answer right away.
Then, finally:
"No.This sword… it's breaking.And I don't think I can fix it."
She held it up to him.
"It was made from my flame. If it's dying, does that mean I am too?"
Kael looked at her—not with pity, but with resolve.
"Then we reforge it.Together."
The Emberforge
Legends said it lay deep in the Emberpath Ridge.A forge that didn't use heat—but memory.
It could shape weapons from flame, yes—but only by extracting something the bearer would never get back.
A sacrifice.
And Lyra had made up her mind.
"If I lose my memories… of the war, of the blood, of all that pain…maybe that's not such a bad thing."
The Trial of the Emberforge
When they reached the cavern, the forge was already lit—but no fire glowed.
Only a white anviland a basin of mirrored liquid.
Lyra stepped forward.
Her sword in one hand.
Her past in the other.
A voice echoed—not aloud, but in her soul.
"What do you give to burn brighter?"
Lyra whispered:
"I give my rage."
And with that—
Her memories of vengeance,of the betrayal that turned her into a warrior,of the friends she lost in the first siege—
faded.
Not gone.But unreachable.
Her sword shattered.
And from the shards,a new blade rose—coated in black and ember-gold.
Not burning.
But waiting.

Kael placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Do you remember why you fight?"
Lyra looked at the blade. Then at Kael. Then at herself.
"Not everything.But I remember who I'm fighting beside.That's enough."
