Chapter:1.4

CHAPTER 1.4:

AMBUSH

As he walked inside, Glaive was astonished at the sight he saw ahead of him.

"The heck is this?" He mummers

The shock didn't come from surprise nor did it come out of joy but because of disappointment.

Broken screens, pathetic makeshift repairs, no sort of defensive plating or anything of the sort was in sight.

"Are you kidding me!?", frustrated Glaive grabbed Swan's collar and lifted him in fury.

"You expect me to believe the rebels only have this crap truck?"

However Swan said nothing and only looked Glaive in the eye with a unbending resolve.

"Tch, the base better be somewhat decent."

"Don't worry about that.. We got a pretty good base."

Then with a thud, Glaive let go of Swan and begins looking for anything of use.

Frustrated and furious, Glaive turns to the other two- Olivia and Garam.

He looked at their battered state, a image of the past flashing before his eyes only to fade away the next second.

«You ain't gonna scream at them? I thought you were done being soft.»

"Shut up!"

Mumbling to himself in rage and much to the confusion of his new allies, Glaive decided to try his luck in the pile of broken weapons.

One by One he brought out parts- Stocks, energy cells, ammunition, scopes, and a lot of different parts.

He grabbed them all, checking for their sizes and fittings to make something for use. Luckily for him, a single mostly intact weapon stood out from the rest.

He came closer, lifted it and begins checking.

Oiser-13, a standard military handgun for EWV. A coilgun made with simple easy to use settings that works quite well for its difficulty. Light enough to juggle.

"This will do. *Turns* Oi bald head, get me some calibrator."

"DO THAT YOUR--..." Garam roared and recieved a death glare from Glaive, "A-A-Alright!!"

Forgetting about his surroundings, the exile was jolted awake by a sudden sensation.

It was hostility, not the annoyed type like Garam's but murderous one.

The truck suddenly stops, coming to a quick halt as only a single robotic voice of Pepro came.

"We are surrounded."

Gritting his teeth, Glaive looks to Swan and jumps out of the exit.

Ahead of him stood dozens of vehicles, military armored ones with turrets and soldiers scrambling around.

He raised his gun, quickly taking a shot with the makeshift gun as he hit a single soldier in the head.

'40 meters, plausible.'

The soldiers were baffled, they expected the rebels to try negotiating like they have always done.

However the sudden shot that came out of nowhere was nothing more than a alert and distraction.

Meanwhile as the soldiers were focused on Glaive. Swan jumped from the other side alongside the other two.

Vision break

The soldiers who glared at Glaive suddenly felt something akin to a small electric shock.

Soon, the soldiers noticed something peculiar.

Their vision was faded away and everyone of them begin panicking around and reached for their guns.

However the damage was already done.

Glaive saw the fading black eyes and turned to the rooftops where many other soldiers remain.

Shifting his focus, he crouched and then shot up like a bullet, reaching the rooftops in a moment and shoulder-bashing a sniper far away.

Then he raised his gun again, unloading the whole magazine into the soldiers nearby as he moved like a Phantom.

Glaive was a blur that didn't stay at a spot, his mobility similar to a fly's as he weaved through the shower of bullets.

Glaive shifted his stance, his gaze still locked onto the soldiers as he grasped a gun and begins firing.

Each bullet hit the target, some as headshots while some only hit the joints but not a single one missed.

The shootout continues. One by one the soldiers fell until Suddenly all of them begin retreating.

"I guess the bigshots arrived."

Glaive's prediction was spot on as from between the soldiers, several figures walked out.

Seven people, armed with exo suits and laced with all sort of weaponry.

They were heavy armored, their suits strong enough to block his current gun bullets like mosquito stings.

«You know.. maybe it's about time you let me take over.»

"Hmm. Fine. But no going berserk and forgetting the rebels."

«Tch. Okay grandma.»

Then in a unexpected fashion, Glaive tossed his gun away and begins laughing.

His laugh was demonic, similar to psychopaths who had tossed away his sanity.

"So you are the my enemies eh? Good good.", he leaned forward, put his hand on the ground and-

Sprinted forward.

The muscles on his body begins bulging, growing larger and then compacting themselves as his frame grew smaller.

The figures didn't even have a moment of recognition until all they saw was a flash that appeared in front of them.

Glaive drove his fist forward, digging it inside the metal plating of the suits. He ripped through them, his arms like drills as he pierced straight through the armor.

His hand pushed out on other side, smeared in blood and flesh of the person he just slaughtered.

"ONE DOWN!"

The other reacted quickly, aiming their own weapons towards Glaive as they blasted him point blank with bullets and explosives.

However he just pushed through as if the explosion didn't hurt a bit and the bullets simply bounched off his body.

Enhancer type evolver- humans who have awakened up to 30% of their dormant brain power and unlocked the ability to change their muscles structure.

The enhancers can toughen their skin to levels of metal by compressing their skin and muscles to extremely dense levels.

"It's a enhancer! Change to ele-URGH." One of the soldiers said before he was impaled by the hand spear.

The figures retreated, their suits shifting to a different mode as they bombarded Glaive with hundreds of tasers.

The tasers spun around his body, tangling him in a mess of wires.

Soon, he felt the electricity pass through his body, burning his insides with heat as steam begins rising from him.

"THESE DAMN BASTARDS!!" Glaive roared and dug his feet into the ground.

He pulled, bringing his enemies closer and killed three more in burst of rage.

The remaining two were terrified, their body frozen in fear as they watched Glaive lunge towards them in madness.

However the one watching decided to intervene.

A massive metal fist ripped through the building, smacking Glaive straight on and sent him flying many buildings away.

It was a mech, a smaller one than the military's yet thrice as big as the exo suits.
