After eating, Nova and Alicia headed outside the cave to continue climbing to the top of the mountain so they could better observe their surroundings.

They wanted to know if there were any signs of civilization nearby.

Maybe they could find a road leading to some towns or villages in the area.

That way, they could figure out which direction they should take and get out of this wilderness.

The sky was cloudless and blue with the sun shining brightly high above, and it wasn't long until they reached a flat surface at the end of the path they were following, giving them a magnificent view of the vast land below.

Nova squinted his eyes as he took in all the details while Alicia stood by his side, holding onto his arm with both her hands. "My god! This view is gorgeous!"

"It is indeed." Nova agreed with a nod of his head as he scanned every possible area visible to his eyes. "The forest looks endless, with so many trees that they can be seen even from the distance."

Nova turned his gaze towards another part of the terrain and saw that the land beyond the forest looked like a plain grassland.

It wasn't covered with vegetation as densely as the tall trees below the mountain they were standing on.

Instead, it had green grass growing on flat ground, reminding him of the meadows he loved so much as a child.

There was a long, winding river flowing along one side of the area with its stream clear and blue. Its waters looked clean and inviting, perfect for anyone to go swimming in.

"We should head in the direction of the river! I am sure that if we continue following its stream, we will come across some people sooner or later. Besides, there's the chance that a town or village has been built near it. That should be our first goal right now," Nova suggested after analyzing the situation. He then looked over to see what his beloved wife had to say about this plan.

Alicia agreed right away, nodding vigorously in agreement. "I think that it sounds like a good idea too!"

Nova took in one more look at their surroundings before leading Alicia down the mountain.

The path they chose to take was not an easy one, but they continued to descend nevertheless, and soon, they arrived at the foot of the mountain.

"Alright, just like last time, I'll be scouting ahead of you while you follow behind at some distance. Watch out for any signs of trouble. I'll give you a sign if there is anything dangerous nearby, so be vigilant!" Nova reminded Alicia after they reached level ground.

"Okay, got it! Please stay safe, Nova." She replied, planting a quick kiss on his lips before she stepped away from him.

The journey was quite uneventful for Nova and Alicia.

It was a simple and straightforward route as long as they didn't stray too far off course.

Along the way, Nova spotted several types of wild animals wandering the forest around them, but thankfully, he managed to avoid most encounters.

Every now and then, they would stop for a short break, allowing them both time to rest and regain their stamina so they could continue forward without exhaustion slowing them down or making them careless.

A few hours passed before they got out of the woods.

The pair took a moment to enjoy the nice breeze that blew across their faces as soon as the trees weren't blocking it.

"We made it without problems!" Alicia exclaimed and hugged her son-turned-husband tight in joy. "I was so nervous the whole time! But nothing bad happened even once!"

"Heh, I can imagine... I was nervous too, to be honest..." Nova chuckled. "Still, I guess we shouldn't jinx it and assume that the rest of the way will be just as peaceful and trouble-free."

"Right you are, darling~ You should remember that luck may turn around at any moment! We have to be prepared and ready for everything!"

Nova nodded his head before taking off once more.

They soon spotted the river and headed towards it.

The water looked crystal clear with a bluish tint under the afternoon sun.

Nova dipped his hand into its refreshing coolness and washed his face to refresh himself after hours of walking through a forest.

Then, he decided to take a drink from it.

The cold, clean liquid soothed Nova as soon as he swallowed it.

Meanwhile, Alicia couldn't resist the temptation of taking a dip in the river, so she took off her dress and entered the water naked.

"What are you doing?" Nova asked when he saw his wife jump into the river.

Alicia laughed and splashed him playfully before replying, "Taking a swim!"

"Right now? Why not wait until we find somewhere more... uh... appropriate?"

"But I feel so dirty after all that dirt and grime that stuck to me since yesterday. I want to wash them all off, and this river looks too good to ignore! Don't you want to swim too, Nova?"

"Umm... yeah, of course..." Nova muttered, gazing at Alicia's beautiful body. "Still, did you check for dangerous beasts lurking around or even something like alligators living in the water?"

Alicia stopped laughing and stared at him as if he grew two heads.

She then pouted, "Don't think that I am an idiot or anything! I made sure that the area was safe before entering the river. Now, what are you waiting for? Get out of those clothes and join me! You shouldn't be wasting a chance for some fun, after all!"
