<p>Relying on Scarper's willingness to fight for Gaia, whatever your personal differences, you compose an email asking him about Everlite's involvement with the Northern New York pipeline battles. This was before your time, but Scarper may remember something that no legitimate newspaper would report.</p>

<p>You conduct more research at the library as you wait. You can't get far, but Everlite (with branch offices in Holyoke, Worcester, Hartford, Connecticut, and Troy, New York) spent years aggressively pushing for new pipelines to supply New England with fracked gas out of Canada. They met defeat in New York (Clay's greatest triumph), but succeeded elsewhere. Nothing in these news reports strikes you as obviously criminal or unnatural, but that's just the mainstream news.</p>
