It was so unexpected Drahon had time to react.
With the force the wind was using to come at him, it looked like one that would break bones.
But then, in the tiniest bit of seconds, Drahon's dragon came out of thin air.
It seemed to blink into existence and, doing so, it took Drahon on it and stormed upwards.
Devon's dragon did the same, and the other players immediately started to summon their dragons.
Well, only a few actually, as before some could say the words or think about it, axes had chopped off their heads, and soon, four players' heads were on the floor.
The skeleton monsters were precisely very fast, and this was just a testament to this.
Drahon flew high above the air, now controlling his dragon. It was hard to steer, but he managed to. Devon was behind him, and the remaining players were flying towards the clouds.
The reason they were doing so was because the skeleton monsters were roaring towards them. A roar from a Vicious-ranked skeleton monster was enough to veer one towards the floor, and that was what the players were avoiding.
ROAAAR!
The skeleton monsters roared. Even though Drahon and Devon had a great amount of stamina, they still had to be careful, as they didn't know if the windy roar from the monsters could affect them.
The roar caught a player with a Ploxer dragon though, and it reeled his dragon downwards onto the hands of a skeleton monster who ripped it apart.
Now in the clouds, the players all paused and looked downwards.
"Guess we're safe," a female player with a Bronzer dragon said.
Devon made a face.
"Not exactly."
The other players were curious.
"Why?" a male player with a Ploxer asked.
"Well, our mission to complete level one is to defeat all skeleton monsters, and so we can't just hide and run away when we see one."
"Didn't you see the other players that died?" the female player asked.
"It was unexpected," Devon said. "Now that we know what we're about to face and are prepared, I'm not sure we'll have to die like the others."
The players were speechless, including Drahon, who was also curious to hear what Devon was about to say. Although he and Devon might be 'friends' (technically), Devon was normally someone that didn't talk so much, and now that he was doing so, they had to listen because he might be up to something.
"I see level one as a stage to fight, something like kill or be killed. Let's say this stage is fast-paced," Devon explained. "We might escape these monsters, but then, we have to kill all of them to get out of this level."
"So what are you suggesting?" a male player asked.
"Fighting the skeleton monsters shouldn't take time. I have a dragon that can breathe fire, a horrific type of fire, that is." Devon pointed to Drahon.
"What can your dragon do?"
Drahon was surprised by the question. Of course, Devon knew the type of his dragon and what it could do. Why was he asking?
Devon suddenly winked at him, a gesture only he saw.
Drahon's face brightened up. He now understood what Devon was trying to do. He was trying to make others do the same by starting from him.
"Oh…, my dragon can breathe out fire from its mouth," Drahon said.
Devon pointed to the others, and they followed suit.
"Mine can roar out fire but not so strong and powerful," a player with a Bronzer dragon said.
"Mine can roar out nails and steel," a player with a Ploxer dragon said.
Drahon was astonished.
Nails and steel?
He decided to ask.
"Nails and steel?"
The player nodded in the affirmative.
"Yes. It's SSS-ranked."
Drahon only nodded.
SSS rank?
Then it was possible.
'That meant a Ploxer dragon wasn't so bad after all. Haha.'
"Mine can breathe out ice and freeze people and things," a female with a Winterer dragon said.
"Mine can…"
"Mine can…"
And so on, the other players said what their dragons could breathe without actually saying what type of dragon they had.
All the dragons could do something, except for two players who said:
"Our dragons can do completely nothing."
As sad as it may have sounded, Drahon was a bit amused.
'Completely nothing, they would be cooked soon.'
"I'm sure I'll not make it to the next level," one of the players with the Tier F Ploxer that said his dragon could do nothing blurted.
"Surprised I'm not dead yet," he added.
Drahon tried to cheer him up.
"You surviving up to this moment or not getting your head chopped off back then is a sign you still have hope. Who knows, after this level, you might awaken a higher-ranked dragon."
The player was brightened up with those words.
"Okay," Devon resumed talking. "What are the weaknesses of the skeleton monsters?" he asked the players.
"The joints," the female player who had been speaking earlier said. "We try to strike from that region, and soon they'll be all down." She was smiling now.
"The joints, the ankles, the shoulders, the—"
Devon interrupted him.
"Fire!" he said a bit on top of his voice. "The fuck is the joints. I mean, you might be right, but that's just us taking the hard way. Fire is the easy way."
"Why?"
Devon was visibly alarmed by the question.
"What happens if one gets in an accident with a car and it explodes?"
"The person burns," Drahon said.
"That is it. The skeleton monsters are merely bones, and we shouldn't even bother fighting them."
Drahon took control now. (Devon is starting to become the MC, don't you think?)
"So we simply burn them. And the people with Winterer dragons freeze them, so we burn them."
"Exactly," Devon said, and the players all smiled.
"The dragon who can breathe steel and nails, weird powers, but also great, as we'll need every help we can get."
The players were all ready to plunge downwards and start razing the walking bones to ashes.
"Think we can do it? I mean, we can, but I expect it to be hard," a player with a Ploxer dragon said.
Drahon grinned.
"Nah, not at all. This should be very easy."
He and Devon exchanged glances. They would surely be doing combos.
