Chapter 12
“He’s already dead.”
“Ah.”
Rexid let out a quiet laugh as I took a step back in fright.
My very flustered gaze and Rexid’s stare met in midair.
“The crown prince and I are… no, were the same age. Ten years ago, when I was still living with the imperial family, we relied on each other a lot.”
“…”
“The crown prince’s personality isn’t much different what’s known about him in the rumors. He’s soft and weak. So much so that he thought I was his best friend, not knowing I was simply hiding my claws the entire time.”
It wasn’t difficult to recognize the agony in Rexid’s expression as he tried to act indifferent.
‘Why is he lying?’
I wondered, but I acted like I was listening.
“He came to visit me in Drax very often. When he came around this time, I thought it must have been my chance.”
“Ah, I see.”
I observed the crown prince lying down in the coffin once again. They must have cared well for the body because he hadn’t decayed much at all.
