“…Are you crazy?”

“No, I’m normal.”

“Why should I?”

“Didn’t you say you wanted to get revenge for the crown prince? And I thought you were going to become emperor? It’s all part of the plan so just go with it.”

“No.”

“What?”

“I’m not doing it.”

“You’re not doing it?”

“That’s right, I’m not doing it.”

“Now now…”

I put down the teacup I was holding and stood up just like Rexid.

When I shoved my face close to his, he flinched.

“Student Rexid, did you think it through before you answered?”

“Of course.”

Rexid was being stubborn until the end. I expected this sort of reaction but…

“Don’t you want revenge? I thought you were going to do whatever it took.”

“You’re saying I have to get married to a woman that I don’t even like, right?”

It was a sharp question. It seemed Rexid wasn’t as dumb as I thought.

“A new heir will be necessary since Raven died. I have no footing in central politics. So I would need another form of power to get on the list of candidates…”
