[ Chapter 6]:The Oscar-Worthy Monster

Bix gasped.

His eyes opened.

This time… he wasn't dead.

He wasn't drowning.

He wasn't in the cell.

He was—

—back at the reunion.

Hours before the nightmare.

Right when someone had suggested trekking to the mountain.

For a split second, Bix thought he was about to get hit—again—by Tento. Instinctively, he crossed his arms to shield his face.

But nothing came.

He blinked.

Everyone stared at him in stunned silence… and then burst out laughing.

Even Hiroshima chuckled.

Even Mira giggled behind her hand.

"Bro, what are you doing?" Tom said, chewing his gum. "Invisible boxing match?"

Bix lowered his arms slowly, confused—and then remembered.

This is before the massacre.

This is when they were still planning the hike.

This is his chance.

Heart pounding, he stood up.

"I need to tell you something," Bix said, trying to keep his voice steady. "If we go trekking—Miss Chizuru is going to kill us. She's part of a cult. She's planning something inside that mountain building."

The laughter stopped.

The silence was louder this time.

Then—Tento's fist slammed into his face.

Bix collapsed to the ground, spitting blood.

Miss Chizuru was sobbing, her hands trembling. "Bix… why are you saying such horrible things?"

Everyone surrounded him now—angry, disgusted.

Even Hiroshima looked away. "What the hell, Bix? She's like a mother to us. You're seriously sick in the head."

Only Mira didn't say anything.

The bus was called.

They were leaving.

Bix sat alone, bruised and shaking. He knew exactly what was going to happen…

But had no idea how to stop it.

---

The Storage Room

As the others got ready to leave, Bix watched Miss Chizuru slip away into the storehouse beneath the front hall.

He followed.

And this time, he wasn't empty-handed.

He gripped a large kitchen knife, stolen moments earlier.

Bix stepped into the dusty room. Shadows danced under flickering lights. Miss Chizuru turned to face him.

"I know what you are," he said, holding the knife with both hands. "You're a monster."

She began to sob again—but halfway through, her crying twisted into a slow, rasping laugh.

"Well done, kiddo," she said, voice now calm and cruel. "I don't know how… but you're right."

Then she smiled.

"Here's your reward."

Before Bix could react, the world tilted.

His body stumbled.

His grip loosened.

His vision spiraled up—not down.

And he saw his own body fall headless to the floor.

He was screaming.

But his head wasn't attached.

He was dying—again.

---

RESET

Bix jolted awake—screaming.

He looked up.

Tento's fist was frozen midair—again. But this time, he hadn't thrown the punch.

Everyone stared at Bix in confused silence.

He didn't speak.

He just… walked out.

No more warnings.

No more begging.

He crossed the road and sat on a piece of broken concrete, facing the sea.

He wanted to disappear.

They're laughing… again. Just like always. I died screaming, and now I'm here, playing clown to people who will be corpses in hours. God, it hurts more now that I know what's coming.

But then he heard a voice.

A little girl teaching her younger brother to ride a bicycle nearby.

"I'm scared I'll fall," the boy whined. "There are sharp stones everywhere…"

The girl smiled. "Then steer your fall. If you know you're gonna crash, fall into the grass. You still fall—but at least you survive."

"…Thanks, sis."

Bix blinked.

Her words echoed in his head: Steer the fall.

Bix waited for the bus. If he could sabotage it, maybe he could stop the trip.

But there were too many people watching.

So he slipped away.

He needed help. He needed a vehicle. And only one person might have something: Goto.

"Five minutes ago, I had my truck," Goto shrugged. "Now it's gone. All I've got is an old bicycle."

"I'll take it," Bix said, without hesitation.

The shortcut to the mountain was brutal.

Each pedal was a battle.

His legs trembled.

Sweat stung his eyes.

The air turned cold.

Halfway through the climb, the skies opened.

Rain. Hard, merciless rain.

The trail became mud.

His tire slipped—he crashed.

Blood ran down his leg. The bicycle was mangled.

But he didn't stop.

With trembling hands and limping steps, he dragged himself upward.

The jungle church stood in the clearing like a haunted skeleton.

Bix pushed open the creaking door.

Lightning flashed.

He ran to the altar. Opened the hatch.

He descended into the bunker.

And there—

He froze.

Father Solomon lay on the ground.

Dead.

A shotgun pierced through his chest.

Blood soaked the floor.

His fake eye was gone.

And his real one… was wide open, staring blankly.

Bix's breath caught in his throat.

He nearly vomited.

No. No no no. Not him. Not the one person who believed me.

Not the one person who might've understood.

I'm too late. The island took him too.

It always takes something.

…Then I'll take something back.

Tears stung his eyes.

He was too late.

Or maybe… this was never meant to be stopped.

But something inside him hardened.

Through the fear… came focus.

He knew what he had to do next.

He simply reached for the grenade clipped to his belt, yanked the pin, and muttered:

"I won't let you keep winning."

Boom.

Light.

Pain.

Silence.

---

RESET

He woke up—again.

The moment of Tento's punch, paused in midair.

But Bix no longer flinched.

He ducked, sidestepped—and walked away before anyone could speak.

This time, no drama. No warning. No stares.

Just action.

---

He ran to Goto and asked for a vehicle.

This time, he got it.

A sturdy old truck sat idling behind the restaurant. Bix jumped in and took off at full speed.

The rain greeted him like an old friend. The road was mud and stone, but he didn't care.

He accelerated, harder, faster, furious.

But in the forest—a pit. The front tire dropped in hard.

The truck bounced violently. Bix jumped out, lifted it, his hands trembling and wet, and somehow managed to force it free.

---

He reached the church.

Sprinted down the stairs into the basement.

> "Father! You're in danger—we need to leave now!"

Father Solomon stared at him, stunned. "How did you get into my basement? Who are—"

But a sound—footsteps upstairs.

Heavy. Precise. Calm.

Bix panicked. "Please! Take a weapon! Grab the shotgun—grab anything!"

Father started up the stairs. "Let me see who—"

> Boom.

His head exploded mid-step. His body collapsed like a puppet cut from strings.

> "NO!" Bix screamed. "NO—NO!"

The killer stepped into the basement slowly, blood splashed across his shirt like art.

A face Bix recognized—a man who worked near Goto's restaurant.

Bix shook as he lifted his blade. "Why? Just tell me why!"

The killer tilted his head.

"Why you?"

Then smiled, and plunged the knife into Bix's stomach.

"See ya."

RESET

Tento's punch again.

This time, Bix didn't dodge—he caught the arm and pushed Tento hard with both hands, and stormed out.

He went to Goto asked for his truck for ride.. Goto happily gave him

He reached Goto's truck, climbed in—

—and froze.

Mira sat in the passenger seat.

"What… what are you doing here?" Bix stammered.

She looked at him seriously. "I could ask you the same."

> "I—I…" he started, then dropped his voice. "I'm trying to stop something terrible."

Mira nodded. "okay, I believe you."

"What? Why?"

She smiled softly.

"Because… you never say something without reason.

Remember when I was on crutches in 5th grade?

I wet myself during PT. You grabbed a water bottle and poured it onto my skirt,to prevent everyone from making fun of me . You never told this to anyone.

You got punished from teachers to protect me."

Bix's eyes burned.

"You've always protected people, Bix. That's why I know… you're not crazy."

Mira gripped his hand.

"I'm with you."

Mira holds Bix's hands looking into his eyes..

Breaking the silence, Goto asked "Is this for what needed my truck..?"

Bix chuckled and accelerates the truck

Goto whispers,"kids these days..."

Mira asked bix to follow her instruction, bix nodded and drove as Mira asked..

She guided him to a quiet house near the old port.

An old man opened the door. His face lit up.

"Mira. And… Bix? Is that really you?"

It was Uncle Jojo.

A retired military vet, and Mira's distant uncle.

Mira asked him for some equipments...

Without questions, he opened his garage.

A collection of weapons—rifles, pistols, grenades, even a rocket launcher—lined the walls.

Bix's jaw dropped.

Jojo handed him a rifle, a belt of grenades, and a bulletproof vest.

Mira took a sniper rifle, a pistol, and vest too.

They leaves him saying , Goodbye...!

"Go slay the demons, kiddos," Jojo said with a crooked grin.

In truck

Mira asked bix, not to turn his head right..

"I am putting my vest on."

He in embarrassment said, Don't worry I won't .

"Eyes forward, hero." Mira again growled

But he couldn't help glancing sideways. Mira was adjusting her top.

She caught him.

"Idiot!"

She smacked his head. The truck veered slightly.

They both laughed.

The moment felt human—for a second.

The rain came again. When entered the forest

But this time, Bix drove clean.

The truck roared through the forest trail and reached the church without issue.

Down to the basement.

Father Solomon turned in shock, before he can ask anything

"Way to destiny has arrived," bix whispered.

And pleaded

"Please ,Hear me out."

And he told him everything—except the time leaping.

Solomon listened. Mira stood beside him, silent but firm.

"You believe all this ?" the priest asked to mira

"I believe him," Mira replied. "That's enough."

They heard the footsteps ,

Then, they hid in silence as per father instructed

The steps became louder..

The killer had arrived, bix whispered

Father Solomon readied his shotgun. Mira stood hidden in the altar of church, sniper, covering the entrance.

Bix waited behind a crate—rifle in his hand,

The killer entered like a ghost, smiling in the dim candlelight.

"Found you."

He lunged—

Father fired—a blast to the shoulder.

Mira shot next—the bullet grazed his thigh, staggering him.

But he still moved fast. Inhumanly fast.

He slashed the priest across the chest—Solomon fell, coughing blood.

Bix tackled the killer to release father. In this commotion rifle went flying. Father then grabbed killer and rolled, punching, clawing, teeth bared.

Killer was now exhausted and injured brutally..

"You think this ends with me?" the killer hissed. "There are others. Always others."

"Maybe," Father growled, "but you're not walking out."

He shoved a grenade into the killer's jacket and kicked him toward the stairs.

Mira fired again—straight into the grenade.

> BOOM.

The fire roared up the shaking the walls.

When the smoke cleared—

The killer was dead.

Burned. Blasted. Gone.

Solomon bled out, hand over his cross, whispering prayers.

Mira dropped to her knees. Bix sat beside him

Silence.

"Did we win?" she asked.

Bix didn't answer.

He looked at the killer's body.

And said," We won.."

Father layyed smiley saying, "what a Great exercise..! "

Mira drank a bottle from truck..

But for some reason inside of bix whispered: "No."

Rain continued to pour as Mira finished cleaning Father Solomon's wounds and tied the bandage around his chest.

"You're still bleeding, will you able to her" she said, concerned.

"I'm a priest," Solomon muttered. "Perishing monsters is part of the job."

Bix helped him up. "Can you move?"

"I must. There's more to do." Solomon roared

Solomon turned to Mira. "You stay here. It's too dangerous outside."

Mira hesitated. "But—"

Bix interrupted gently, "Please. Stay safe. Don't do anything crazy."

Mira nodded reluctantly. "Be careful."

Bix and Father Solomon jumped into the battered jeep and sped off into the storm.

---

Meanwhile...

Their classmates were making their way through the rain toward the ruined house under Miss Chizuru's lead. The air was thick, not just with moisture—but with dread.

Miss Chizuru stopped near the old, mossy floorboards and smiled.

"Get down into the basement," she said sweetly. "There's a hidden staircase. Much cleaner than this floor."

The students murmured in confusion but obeyed. They followed her into the trapdoor, descending the stairs into the shadows below.

Only Tento stayed behind.

"I'm not going," he said firmly.

Miss Chizuru's smile twitched.

"You should come down, dear. Don't you trust me?"

"I just… I don't feel right about this."

Her expression turned dark.

"You little bastard," she hissed. "You've always been a problem. Now you die here."

Tento backed away in fear as she pulled out a knife and advanced toward him but he somehow wasn't able move his body..he stood in fear

Just then—

CRASH!

Headlights tore through the mist. Father Solomon's jeep smashed through the trees and skidded to a halt. He jumped off the jeep, shotgun in hand.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" bix shouted,

coming from behind the jeep.

Tento seized the moment to break free. Bix and Solomon jumped out of the jeep. Miss Chizuru was knocked aside by the impact.

Bix rushed to Tento. "You okay?"

"Bix?! What are you doing here?"

"I'll explain later! Where are the rest?"

But Miss Chizuru stood again a ten feet apart them. Bones cracked into place. Blood reversed itself. Her body was whole.

She looked at Tento. "Save me, your lovely mother..." she said in a mocking, sugary tone. Then she burst into laughter. "I'm such a bad actress."

Solomon raised his gun. "Oscar-worthy, actually."

She giggled. "Don't make me blush."

She grabbed the jeep and tossed it into the air like a toy.

"Bix, go!" Solomon barked. "Save the others! I'll handle this creepy gorilla."

He turned to Tento. "Boy! Come here!"

He handed Tento a grenade.

"I've never used one!"

"You've fought monsters Everyday right...! Don't worry You'll hsve to throw it after removing the pin and Survive till the end. Look at your friend Bix."

Tento pulled the pin and threw it with all his strength. It exploded against Miss Chizuru, sending her into flames.

"He was my ex-Best friend," Tento muttered.

Solomon grinned. "Whatever helps you throw harder."

INSIDE THE BASEMENT

Bix found the room full of rusted hospital beds. Just like before, the students were tied up—but this time, the keyholes weren't sealed with wax.

He found a hammer and smashed their locks open.

Everyone looked stunned.

Tom sat up. "Something's wrong with Miss Chizuru…"

"We know," Bix said. "Let's just get out!"

OUTSIDE THE BUILDING

Outside, Father Solomon was being overwhelmed. Bix and the others hurried out of the building.

They were stug by fear to see there lovely teacher like a a Monster...Bix asked them to follow him to, down the broken road from the mountain .

Behind them, Miss Chizuru tossed Solomon and Tento aside and charged toward the fleeing group.

BANG!

A sniper shot cracked through the air. Miss Chizuru fell.

Everyone turned. Mira stood atop the hill, rifle in hand.

Miss Chizuru screamed. "NOOO..

She tried to rise, but Solomon and Tento tied her up with ropes. Solomon slammed a talisman onto her forehead.

She convulsed, her eyes wide.

She turned to Mira and whispered,"He will be coming for me!"

before collapsing unconscious.

Tento then asked , Hiroshima to call the cop and hand her

But Father Solomon disagrees with him,

"saying cops don't take these cult thing seriously

Only few know about these cult and it can back fire as she a resident of Kobashi Island for a long time

And people loves and cares for her..."

So , Father suggests them to take her to Hotel Leo

To his surprise, Hiroshima says ,"that where they are staying..!"

Father Solomon smiles, thats Great ...! and then I have to make a call..

The rescued students huddled together in a broken truck they'd taken from Goto's garage. Others followed in Solomon's damaged jeep, driven by Tento.

They arrived at their hotel—but found it locked and empty.

Tom called the receptionist's number.

No answer.

Then, the door creaked open. A man in a neat uniform stood at the entrance.

"Welcome," he said with a grin. "Guests of Father Solomon, I assume?"

He stepped aside. "Come in. I'm Leonardo, the owner of this hotel."

Father Solomon smiled faintly. "It's been ages."

Leonardo nodded. "So… cult business again? Or the island's curse?"

The students froze.

"How do you know about that?" Mira asked.

Leonardo looked at Miss Chizuru's unconscious body.

"Who'd have thought she'd be the fourth?"

"Fourth what?" Hiroshima asked, stepping forward.

Leonardo glanced at Solomon, who nodded slowly.

Leonardo replied, "Ten years ago, Father Solomon and I fought three cult members. The Whispers."

"Whispers?" Bix echoed.

And defeated two

Leonardo continued:

"The Whisper of Gluttony & The Whisper of Lust. "

Bix muttered, "This island… it's not done with us yet.

<"Author's note">

"Father Solomon fought 3 cult members 10 years ago… and only 2 were defeated? So who's the final Whisper?"or whom you want as next whisper....?😈
