A month passed and I finally got them to let me run. So I would go on runs every morning and night.
It took them a week after my runs started for them to start asking to meet my wolf. I've been avoiding that for as long as I could.
But then the pinned me to the couch and alpha ordered me.
"I.. don't have..... a wolf!" I strained out.
Their mom dropped the plates she was washing and even their dad peeked out from his office.
"What do you mean you don't have a wolf? You were in wolf form." Ruby asks.
"I.. refused to look for my mate. And my wolf was mate centered. So she left me to go back to the goddess. But it's not like me refusing to look for a mate is some crime so I assume the goddess allowed me to still shift." I explain.
"But your heightened senses. Aren't they hard to control?" Scarlett asks.
"I figured it out..." I sigh out.
"Wait so all that time we spent begging to meet you we were just begging you to shift? Not for your wolf to give up control?" Ruby asks.
"Yeah." I answer.
"Oh my. Can you tell me the reason you didn't want to find your mate?" Their mother asks.
"Oh hi stranger, let's have kids and spend the rest of our lives together. Or it could be oh hey you're my bully, I'm going to try and reject you. Oh wait.. my wolf won't let me and you're stopping me from saying the rejection and threatening to hold me in your basement. Alright I guess we're lovers now." I state.
"But that's not always the case." Their father says.
"But that's very likely in my pack. There was only one mated pair that had no bad blood and weren't strangers. And that was two Omegas." I inform.
"Did you ever find your mate?" Scarlett asks.
"I did..." I answer hesitantly.
The twins' fists clenched at my words and I see them tense up.
"Did you reject them?" Ruby asks.
"No." I say slowly.
"Oh, how come dear? Especially given your view on mates." Their mom asks.
"This is going to be a long story.." I sit up a bit and groan out.
"We have time." Their father says.
"My pack was attacked and my alpha went crazy right before it. I ran from the attack. I didn't have any training so I couldn't fight. A week or so after I fled I came across a wolf. It was a wolf who belonged to the pack that attacked mine. It was their alpha." I start.
"What..?" Their mother gasps out.
"So like I said my wolf left me. Well she came back for a moment and said mate. Except that alpha I saw her once before. She was creepy to say the least. I ran more. She chased me." I continue.
"You're hiding something." Scarlett says. I sigh.
"As I ran from my pack I became a rouge. And my wolf talked to me at that time saying if I went crazy because it was still a risk for me after becoming a rogue she would come back and take over and go straight to our mate." I say looking away from everyone.
"What?!" Ruby booms.
"But back to the story. I ran from the alpha and came across a waterfall. I didn't want to risk leaving the stream I've been following because it was my source of water and I've been eating the occasional fish. But climbing down meant slowing down and getting caught." I go back to the story.
"Don't tell me..." Their father starts.
"So I.. jumped off the waterfall into the stream and I stayed under long enough to not be seen when I resurfaced. However not long after resurfacing and swimming Ruby and Scarlett found me..." I finished my story and they all looked at me shocked.
"You could have died!" Scarlett scolds.
"But I didn't." I say as if that was going to help.
"You're insane!" Their dad says.
"I think your daughters are more crazy." I argue.
"Enough! We can't change the pass so girls go take her to your room and calm down. You don't ever do that again. And honey she's right about our girls." Their mom says.
We all immediately go to obey her. After that things calmed down a bit. Eventually after three weeks the twins asked why I didn't ask to meet their beasts.
"Because if you don't want to introduce me I respect it." I state.
"That's surprising mature of you." Ruby says.
"I know you ain't talking. You both pout if I so much as beg for your attention." I say.
"Shut up." Scarlett says pouting at being called out. I rolled my eyes.
That night on my run right as I was about to head back I was tackled. I turned and look and saw... my mate.
I growled but she only shifted and next thing I know I feel a prick. Then I started to black out.
