Chapter 64: Thessaly’s Vow

That night, Liss stood on a ridge, watching a universe rebuild.

Thessaly joined her, arms crossed, cloak rustling.

"You okay?"

"I don't know who I am anymore," Liss whispered.

Thessaly took her hand.

"You're mine."

Liss looked at her. "But I'm changing."

"So change. I'll keep up. Just don't let go."

Liss pulled her into a kiss.

It wasn't dramatic.

It wasn't even desperate.

It was home.

"Then stay with me. No matter what I become."

"I'll stay," Thessaly whispered, resting her forehead against Liss's.

"Even if you become the end of everything.

I'll still kiss you there."
