That night, Liss stood on a ridge, watching a universe rebuild.
Thessaly joined her, arms crossed, cloak rustling.
"You okay?"
"I don't know who I am anymore," Liss whispered.
Thessaly took her hand.
"You're mine."
Liss looked at her. "But I'm changing."
"So change. I'll keep up. Just don't let go."
Liss pulled her into a kiss.
It wasn't dramatic.
It wasn't even desperate.
It was home.
"Then stay with me. No matter what I become."
"I'll stay," Thessaly whispered, resting her forehead against Liss's.
"Even if you become the end of everything.
I'll still kiss you there."
