Ethan nearly dropped the medical chart he was reviewing. Chen Wan'er? He hadn't expected gratitude from beyond the grave.

Locked in a bathroom stall, Ethan probed his new physique.

"Your body has improved," a feminine voice whispered directly into his left ear.

"Mm." The ghost's voice held dark amusement. "I owe you... entertainment."

Ethan shuddered at the implication. The former puppet queen was undoubtedly putting Lin Yingge through horrors beyond comprehension.

The ghost continued. Her tone shifted to biting hatred as she revealed the truth: Lin Yingge had killed Chen Wan'er's mother first, driven by twisted jealousy over Mayor Lü's affections.

"If my... father was involved," Chen Wan'er's voice turned icy, "I may need another favor."

Ethan exhaled sharply but nodded. Some debts couldn't be ignored.

"Ethan, you're quite the hero," the ghost teased. "If I were alive... well, you're not handsome, but—"

"Thanks?" Ethan replied dryly as the presence faded.

Pigeons fluttered around Ethan's outstretched hands as he scattered feed. The simple childhood pleasure now felt hollow.

He turned to see a woman in a cream-colored trench coat—his high school English teacher, Ms. Ye.

"You've grown..." Her eyes fell to his arms, and then she surprised him by squeezing his bicep. "Very firm. University life suits you."

Ethan coughed awkwardly. If only she knew it was from 188 points worth of combat upgrades.
