Chapter 70: Divine Soldiers Descend From the Sky and Shock Dai!

"Ninjutsu: Thousand Needles!"

The Watermelon Mountain Pufferfish Ghost was ruthless when he attacked. As his voice echoed, the long orange hair behind him suddenly defied gravity—each strand straightened and hardened with chakra, transforming into thousands of steel-like needles aimed directly at Kakashi!

Faced with this wide-range, indiscriminate assault, Kakashi didn't even try to dodge.

Instead, he channeled a massive amount of Sage Chakra into his Lightning Style Armor, reinforcing it far beyond its normal limits. While Lightning Style Armor was traditionally a B-rank support technique focused on enhancing speed and physical prowess, Kakashi was determined to push it beyond its intended use.

Ordinarily, the defense boost it provided was limited—evident even in the Fourth Raikage's version. But the Third Raikage had eventually broken past his physical limit by continuously bathing his body in Lightning Style, becoming an absolute monster in both offense and defense.

That transformation had taken decades of training.

Yet Kakashi had no such luxury. He had to survive now.

Thanks to his prior experience with techniques like Sage Art: Fire Release - Burning Fang, and his deep mastery of Lightning Style, Kakashi managed something incredible at the brink of life and death—he evolved the Lightning Style Armor using Senjutsu chakra into something new:

Sage Art: Lightning Style Armor.

But he felt no excitement. No pride.

The Watermelon Mountain Pufferfish Ghost, wielding the massive sword Samehada, was still too dangerous.

Kakashi's only chance was to strike in the fleeting window when the enemy launched his hair needles—Samehada would be out of reach, and its massive chakra-draining ability would be unusable.

Kakashi made his move.

Lightning crackled in his right hand as he charged straight through the needle storm. He blocked the sharp hair projectiles with his reinforced Sage Armor and rushed toward the enemy.

"Chidori!"

"You've fallen into my trap, brat!"

"Ninjutsu: Thousand Shields!"

The Pufferfish Ghost sneered. With a flick of his head, the long hardened hair abruptly shifted from offense to defense—sweeping inward to form a dense steel shield mere inches from his body.

The shift was too sudden. Kakashi had no time to alter his path.

He poured even more power into Chidori, punching through the Thousand Shields—but the resistance slowed him down just enough.

His heart sank.

He tried to pull back, arm still sparking with residual lightning, ready to retreat—but it was too late.

"Longsword Technique: Killing Circle!"

Kushimaru Kuriare, who had just recovered from earlier paralysis, had been waiting.

He'd used the time Kakashi attacked to quietly lay down a trap—steel wires arranged like a spider's web.

As Kakashi turned to flee, he found his path blocked in all directions by razor-sharp threads. Above, below, behind—no escape route remained.

Earth Style…

Kakashi considered sinking into the ground.

But he never got the chance.

"Ninjutsu: Thousand Rebellion!"

The Pufferfish Ghost wasn't done. Though some of his hair had been destroyed, he plunged the rest into the ground—then, with a surge of chakra, hundreds of needle-like strands erupted from below Kakashi like spears!

The scene resembled the infamous Wood Style: Hell's Chaos, except this was pure hair and cruelty.

And it wasn't over yet.

"Explosive Sword Slash!"

"Water Cannon – Rapid Fire!"

"Thunder Blade Technique: Falling Thunder!"

Three more of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen had coordinated their assault.

Jinpachi Munashi swung his explosive blade violently, creating a roaring shockwave of heat and air from Kakashi's right.

Meanwhile, Kuri Chiyo mimicked dual pistols with his hands, firing high-pressure water bullets with machine-gun-like speed from the left.

And above, Raiga Kurosuki raised his blade to the sky.

A massive bolt of lightning struck down like the wrath of the heavens—aimed squarely at Kakashi!

Now he was trapped from every direction—above, below, left, and right. No retreat, no defense.

But Kakashi still had one card left: Flying Thunder God.

"Seriously… I'm just a regular Jōnin. Is all this really necessary? You guys are way overkill!"

Kakashi muttered with a bitter smile.

He'd strategically avoided using Flying Thunder God until the last moment. He had planted seals earlier during the fight—waiting for the right opportunity to use the element of surprise.

This was that moment.

Just as he was about to teleport—

"Seventh Gate: Open!"

"Daytime Tiger!"

A thunderous voice rang out behind him. Kakashi turned.

A green blur raced toward him, trailing billowing blue steam.

Hands clasped in front of him, Might Dai launched his ultimate move—Daytime Tiger!

Two streams of pressurized air spun between his palms before releasing a massive white tiger formed entirely of condensed air pressure. The beast roared forward at speeds multiple times faster than sound, blasting apart all the incoming jutsu and traps in a single breath!

BOOM!

The air exploded.

The shockwave blasted apart all the enemy attacks, unraveling the wires and collapsing the Thousand Rebellion needles from the ground.

A path was cleared!

Kakashi seized the opening.

In an instant, he flickered forward with lightning speed and reappeared beside the green figure.

"Uncle Dai?! What are you doing here?" he asked in shock.

"I ran into Guy while patrolling the coastline. When I heard what happened, I rushed here as fast as I could."

Might Dai's tone was serious, but full of youthful passion. His eyes burned with fierce determination as he stared at the Six Ninja Swordsmen ahead.

"Thank you, Kakashi. You risked your life to buy time for Guy's escape. I'm deeply grateful."

Kakashi scratched his nose, a little embarrassed. "C'mon, Uncle Dai. Guy's like a brother to me. It's what anyone would do."

"And you just saved my life, so I'd say we're even."

But Dai shook his head.

"No. You saved my only son."

"I may be simple, Kakashi, but I remember favors. You're not just Guy's friend anymore—you're a benefactor to our entire family."

He paused, and then his expression hardened.

"But we can settle this later. First, we deal with them."

The warmth vanished from his voice. In its place—cold, burning fury.

These enemies had almost killed his son and his son's most trusted friend. For that, Might Dai would show no mercy.

"Kakashi, fall back. Leave the rest to me!"

Before Kakashi could even respond, Dai vanished.

A boom echoed across the battlefield.

In less than a second, Dai had crossed hundreds of meters—his steam-powered body a blur. He appeared in front of Jinpachi Munashi.

CRACK!

A single punch exploded against Jinpachi's chest. The air distorted from the sheer force. Jinpachi's eyes went wide as his sternum shattered—he was sent flying over a hundred meters and crashed violently into the earth, forming a deep crater.

Blood sprayed from his mouth. He lay there, barely conscious, clearly dying.

"So fast!"

The Watermelon Mountain Pufferfish Ghost's face twisted in fear.

But before he could react, Dai launched forward again.

The ground split apart under the force of his kick, wind howled, and his body vanished—only to reappear behind Kushimaru Kuriare.

BOOM!

One kick.

That was all it took.

Kushimaru's head was obliterated, his body lifeless before it hit the ground.

In under three seconds, Might Dai had taken down two of the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

Even Kakashi—no stranger to life-or-death battles—was left stunned by the display.

Might Dai, often mocked as the "Eternal Genin" of Konoha, had just turned the tide of the battlefield.

And he was only getting started.
