Reunion

Chapter thirty five

Leera storms back to her chambers, her face burns with fury. 

Amendiel had refused to see her. Again. The guards at his door turned her away without even letting her speak. That worthless half-blood has taken control of his mind.

"Mistress," Xeli says softly as Leera enters. She's the same servant who put the hairpin in Daela's belongings. "Maybe a milk bath would calm your nerves? You look so upset."

Leera's hands ball into fists. "He won't even look at me! That creature has ruined everything!"

"The bath will help," Xeli continues, her voice sweet but fake. "I'll have the half-blood get the milk. Fresh from this morning."

Leera stops walking. Her lips curve into a mean smile. "Yes. Send her to the other stable near our training ground. Make sure she knows the milk must be perfect."
