Neyvar was sitting on the bed. The silence of the house surrounded him. He whispered:
"I feel strange..."
A moment later, his eyes grew heavy, and without warning, he fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, soft sunlight entered the room through the window.
Neyvar got up, washed his face, and refreshed himself.
The housemaid had prepared breakfast. While eating, the sound of a carriage stopping outside was heard. Heavy footsteps approached the door.
Neyvar stepped outside. A man in official armor with a golden Ve emblem on his chest stood before him.
Neyvar, frowning:
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The knight bowed respectfully:
"I have come on behalf of Lord Zeltor Velthar. He is busy today and sent me to escort you to the academy, Sir Neyvar."
Neyvar narrowed his eyes. He hesitated, then nodded briefly in agreement.
But in the knight's mind:
"This boy… already reached the fifth layer of the Common Level at this age? Impossible... Lord Zeltor, where did you find such a monster?"
The carriage began moving. It passed through cobblestone streets and royal buildings until reaching the heart of the capital—where palaces shone like stars in daylight.
Neyvar looked around with wide eyes:
"Wow... I've never seen a place like this before."
The knight smiled:
"This is the imperial capital, young man. It's unlike anything you've seen."
The carriage stopped before the majestic gates of Velmora Academy.
Tall gates, silver-armored guards, and a luxurious atmosphere showed this place was no ordinary ground.
Neyvar stepped in. The interior radiated grandeur. Walls adorned with family crests, stained glass windows, and statues of past heroes.
The knight handed him over to a middle-aged instructor, who then led him to class.
Before the lesson began, the instructor raised his voice:
"Kids, we have a new student today. Come in."
In the classroom's silence, Neyvar entered with slow but firm steps. His eyes calm yet piercing. He wore the academy uniform, though no one knew the beast sleeping beneath this quiet face.
The instructor said:
"This is Neyvar Venmar. He will be with you from now on."
Whispers broke out among the students:
"Who is he? Doesn't look noble..."
"How did he get into Velmora? Must've used connections."
"Even beggars are getting in now?"
Neyvar said nothing. He simply sat down. He wasn't one of them—and didn't want to be like them.
Recess. Neyvar decided to walk around a bit. In the hallway, a group of noble boys blocked his path.
One of them, sneering:
"Hey beggar... You think Velmora is for people like you? This place is for the pure-blooded nobles, not street rats."
Laughing, he threw a strong punch at Neyvar's chest. But… nothing happened. Neyvar didn't even blink.
Neyvar calmly said:
"You just dug your own grave..."
The boy stepped back, fear flickering in his eyes. But before Neyvar could do anything—
💥 Footsteps echoed down the hallway.
A girl with long black-blue hair, sapphire eyes, and a formal uniform appeared.
With a swift motion, she grabbed the boy's arm and tossed him aside. Her cold eyes fixed on him.
"You should be ashamed of yourselves. Nobility means honor, not bullying.
If you can't act maturely toward others… you don't even deserve your family name."
Then she turned to Neyvar. Her tone softened, but it remained proud:
"Hey, are you okay? Sorry… if I'd arrived a bit sooner, maybe you wouldn't have been hurt.
I must protect the weak… especially in a place like Velmora."
She then shot a sharp glare at the boys and said:
"If you don't want to get crushed right here, leave."
The boys didn't say a word. Quietly and without protest, they stepped away and slowly walked off.
Neyvar only watched.
The girl never said her name. And still, in her eyes, Neyvar was just a "weakling in need of protection"...
