Neyvar stood beside the golden statue and muttered under his breath,
"Who is this?"
A woman's voice calmly answered from nearby,
"He's the savior of this city."
Surprised, Neyvar looked to his left and saw a beautiful girl standing next to him.
"So, he's a great man?" he asked.
The girl looked at him in surprise and said,
"Don't you really know him?"
Neyvar replied,
"No."
The girl glanced again at the statue and said,
"That's Velmara Eugene Delacoros... or as everyone calls him, the 'Red Pearl'."
Neyvar stared at her, astonished, thinking to himself,
"Red Pearl? That must be what that kid told me last night..."
Curious, he asked,
"Hey! Who exactly is this 'Red Pearl'?"
The girl looked serious and said,
"Do you really not know, or are you just pretending?"
Seeing Neyvar was serious, she sighed and continued,
"About six hundred years ago, this empire was in chaos, but he saved everyone from the devil.
The rest you'll have to read about in the library or learn at school."
Neyvar was surprised,
"Six hundred years ago?"
The girl responded,
"Yeah, so what?"
Neyvar thanked her and walked away.
The girl, still surprised, thought to herself,
"This guy is really strange..."
Neyvar went home and had breakfast with Alicia.
Alicia said,
"Young master... that sword..."
Neyvar smiled,
"Yeah, I just bought it. I was only drawn to its color, haha."
Alicia, worried, said,
"I don't mean to offend, but that sword is black and no one in this empire uses it because they say it's cursed... and I think there might be a spirit in it, sir..."
Neyvar hesitated but said,
"I don't know... I feel something strange from it..."
Neyvar got ready and left for the academy.
After class, he went outside for some fresh air and came back to find out they had a practical test where they would have to fight each other...
