Chapter 87: An Irresistibly Tempting Plan

[Chapter 87: An Irresistibly Tempting Plan]

Charlie's eyes lit up, his mind firing like a high-frequency CPU chip, working rapidly. To become an excellent content developer in the entertainment industry, one had to have a keen observational sense about the real happenings around.

He could read and understand interesting social events beyond the average bystanders, gaining creative inspiration from them. Charlie had plenty of excellent works from later generations stored in his mind and didn't need to dig hard for material from life.

However, upon hearing this story, he was distinctly alert to the fact that this was already a widely known incident with a broad audience.

If he tracked and adapted it, it would be extremely beneficial for his content's promotion!

He happened to have a project called Wrong Turn, and maybe with some tweaks, he could borrow this real-life popular case to stir up publicity? This could save tens of millions in distribution and promotion costs!

Using reality for publicity stunts?

Charlie's mind was very active, and he caught another piece of information. But since he was currently focused on Wrong Turn, he didn't delve deeper into new inspirations.

After a simple analysis, Charlie was very confident this could work! The script had similarities with the real case -- both involved traveling by car through isolated areas and encountering brutal attacks, with perpetrators using cruel methods.

Besides, could filming the movie locally bring more fame and boost the local tourism industry?

At first glance, a gruesome murder wouldn't seem good for tourism, but turning the mindset around, bad things could be turned into good.

Having gone through even more intense information society experiences, Charlie knew that often, controversy or bad news wasn't to be feared -- being totally ignored was the real worry!

...

"Honey?" Vera touched her boyfriend's shoulder curiously as she noticed him spacing out.

Within just a few seconds, Charlie organized his thoughts and spoke with bright eyes to Jason and Frank, "Guys, I have an interesting idea. The brutal Park City murder case is famous throughout North America. Its media storm might even be bigger than the Independence Day movie!"

Jason nodded in puzzlement. "Uh, probably."

Looking at Charlie's excited expression, his face darkened a bit. As the person responsible for public safety in Park City, Jason had been overwhelmed for months due to the case's severity. Luckily, the case was finally solved.

Charlie smiled excitedly, "My current film project, Wrong Turn, is quite similar. It tells the story of a group of young graduates on a road trip who are brutally attacked while passing through a remote area. The attackers are initially conceived as strange mutated humanoids due to pollution and toxicity -- they hunt and eat people."

It's a typical slasher horror film using knives and other violent means, a favorite type for small studios due to low production costs and widespread audience. The famous example is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series.

Frank Giustra, interested in entering the film industry, was familiar with this genre. He nodded slightly. "That's a good choice, very suitable for Corleone Studios' current production. So you want to use Park City's murder case for publicity?"

Jason grinned thoughtfully, "That's actually a great idea. If you want to shoot in Park City, I can help you."

Charlie shook his head, "No, not just that! I envision this as a series. The main selling point would be these strange humanoid creatures with different hunting tactics -- their arms sharp as blades, tongue like a snake's, and others.

Could we perhaps build a horror adventure experience park locally in Park City? Initially, tourists could escape from staff dressed as movie villains -- a new type of haunted house. If we attract some visitors, we could expand to role-playing movie characters, like immersive live-action gaming. In later sequels, we could add puzzles and escape games for players to enjoy in the real venue."

Jason, Frank, George, and Vera were all stunned by Charlie's wild creativity, but gradually Jason's interest grew.

It sounded feasible.

Charlie thought while speaking, growing clearer in mind, "The amusement park's game formats could evolve, not just puzzles or thrills but competitions like capture and escape with prizes to attract visitors.

If successful, these special events could be broadcast on cable and wireless TV. The nearby props and merchandise production and sales could support the local Park City economy."

His ideas sounded quite good. Jason thought seriously and was impressed by Charlie's performance.

Charlie concluded, "North America has tons of young people seeking thrills, extreme sports, costume balls, and so on. I believe this new type of amusement park could attract them!

Now Park City has a golden opportunity! A brutal murder case made it famous across North America and even worldwide. Why can't we seize this chance to turn Park City into the capital of horror and thriller games?

If we succeed, how many jobs and industry chains could it bring?"

Jason was stunned by Charlie's grand blueprint. He looked to Frank, hoping the savvy businessman would offer advice.

Frank took a deep breath, applauded warmly, and looked at Charlie with delight, "Brilliant pitch, fantastic concept! A novel idea -- a horror amusement park aimed at drawing young people.

Charlie, I'm thinking the founders of Las Vegas decades ago were just like you, building a paradise from barren land."

"Yes, an amazing plan. Unbelievable!" George Clooney said with astonishment.

Vera stared at Charlie adoringly with loving, starry eyes.

Oh my God!

He was my boyfriend!

All the gloom Rachel brought before vanished into thin air.

Charlie laughed and shook his head, modestly saying, "You guys are making me blush."

The selling points, unique perspective, and the well-known real murder cases were just foundations for success.

Achieving the goal of becoming the horror amusement capital would be very difficult.

Compared to Las Vegas, Charlie felt deeply embarrassed.

Even if the plan succeeded, it wouldn't compare. The purpose of amusement parks is to attract crowds. The main money comes from selling merchandise, snacks, and dining.

Family-oriented parks like Disney couldn't hold a candle to Las Vegas, let alone a horror amusement park concept.

But if it really worked, it would be a commercial miracle for Park City!

Jason Trumm himself could build substantial political capital from it.

Having such a brand, Corleone Studios could rapidly open distribution channels and complete the business chain.

Frank Giustra and George Clooney also realized the benefits if they joined.

But for Charlie, there was a key question.

If Jason and Frank wanted to do this, why did they have to collaborate with him?
