[Chapter 94: Small Meeting in the Restaurant]
After about ten minutes, Vera caught her breath softly, her lips moist, her cheeks flushed, and her hair tousled as she tidied up her clothes.
Feeling a bit shy, she got out of the Rolls-Royce after the driver opened the door without looking away, holding Charlie, who had a playful smile on his face.
"Goodbye, Mr. Corleone, Mrs. Corleone!" The driver in a sharp suit politely bowed and said goodbye.
"Goodbye!"
Hearing this, Vera hid her face even more, but she couldn't help but delight in her imagination.
'Mrs. Corleone? That sounds pretty nice.'
Lost in thought, a little shy, the young lady with a tender face tugged the hand of Charlie, who was walking confidently with a beaming smile, waving back to the driver, then headed for the restaurant ahead.
Charlie slightly shook his head, "Such youthful innocence!"
...
Upon entering the restaurant, the two sat down.
Charlie couldn't help but smile squinting at Vera a few times.
Perhaps because teasing Rachel had satisfied his mischievous mood, he didn't tease Vera just now. Instead, he waved to the waitress to hand over the menu. "You order, order a bit more!"
He then pulled out a twenty-dollar bill and said to the waitress, "Two sparkling waters, and bring me a pen and paper!"
Then he explained to Vera, "I need to sort out some earlier business strategy ideas."
"Oh, okay!" Vera felt a little melancholy. Charlie was great in every way, except that he was often too focused on his career.
"Uh... okay."
The waitress, dressed in a dark blue suit, looked at Charlie with a frown, confused by the unusual request of this customer.
Seeing she was completely ignored, she hesitated but then politely responded and walked away with hands behind her back.
...
A few minutes later, Charlie laid his head down on the table, frowning slightly in thought, writing and sketching from time to time.
He was accustomed to detailing his thoughts in writing during important plans.
He had gained a lot today.
Besides securing several movie profits, arranging financing, and advertising for quick cash flow,
he was mainly dealing with three people.
Frank Giustra, Kerry, and Jason Trumm.
Charlie wrote these three names on the paper.
He planned to ask someone to investigate them thoroughly later. They could provide him with connections in advertising, finance, and local government.
These would effectively help him produce films and assist Corleone Entertainment Group's development.
Also, a Horror Theme Park!
After writing those words, Charlie circled them.
Disney had leveraged vacation theme parks to command huge offline traffic, greatly strengthening its company brand and controlling effective offline merchandise sales.
Moreover, it maintained close ties with local authorities.
This business model embedded film media deeply offline, making its social influence comparable to powerful manufacturing!
And that was real power.
Charlie sighed and shook his head, acknowledging it was impossible for him to deeply root himself in local influence now. His Horror Theme Park concept was far from Disney's.
For now, he'd better focus on producing a few films and expanding sales channels step by step.
Only then, a few years later when Lord of the Rings burst onto the scene, could he claim even greater rights!
Charlie knew well that with his current resources, no matter how many quality products he developed, he was still just a high-level employee working for others.
After entering Hollywood on a big stage, he needed time to quietly solidify the industry chain, hone internal skills, then he could soar.
The market's upper structure was already fixed; any latecomer lacking a solid foundation upfront would hit the ceiling hard later on.
...
Vera placed her order, rested her hands on the wooden table, and gazed at her boyfriend with sparkling eyes.
Charlie looked utterly captivating when seriously thinking.
She wished he could always be like this. Usually, his face bore a roguish smile, unpredictable and capricious.
Though that brought many surprises, it also lacked a bit of security.
No one could keep such a perfect act over time.
Vera noticed that her boyfriend seemed unreliable and probably wasn't her true destiny.
Sadly, she hadn't figured it out yet.
"What're you thinking about?" Charlie looked up with a smile, exhaling quietly, snapping his fingers to call the waitress.
"Nothing," Vera shook her head, blinking her eyes dreamily. "I was just thinking I should work hard to build my career, and then..."
"And in a few years, our careers and love will both flourish, we'll marry, have kids, and spend our lives together?" Charlie said, grinning and picking up the thread.
Vera's smile brightened, biting her lip, waiting for more promises from him.
Unfortunately, the waitress arrived. "Hello, sir, may I take your order?"
"Read back what we just ordered!" Charlie said without looking, taking a sip of sparkling water.
It was the same waitress, inwardly grumbling about the difficult customer. She politely said to wait a moment.
Moments later, she returned with a sheet of paper, reading aloud, "Green apple cheesecake, black truffle sardines, French foie gras..."
After halfway listening, Charlie waved his hand, "Enough, add two filet mignon, a plate of Italian spaghetti bolognese, and a bottle of Ensanse red wine. Oh, and tell the kitchen not to add that annoying macaroni, put more tomato sauce instead!"
Charlie glanced at Vera and smiled, "I feel like I could eat an entire cow. Want anything more?"
Vera shook her head; she knew her boyfriend's personality was changeable - sometimes carefree, sometimes picky. Helplessly, she exchanged a look with the waitress.
"Uh, okay!" The waitress shrugged slightly, smiled, and left.
...
After more than ten minutes, Mitch Pierza and Patrick Whitesell arrived.
Everyone ate heartily while chatting.
Mitch Pierza excitedly said, "Boss, you're amazing. How did you do it? So our movie projects are already guaranteed profits? We don't need to worry about cash flow anymore!"
"Pretty much!" Charlie nodded. "I need you and Etto to contact Kevin ASAP, and come up with a product placement proposal for the movie projects to attract corporate investment. Jason will assist.
Also, I've made some new character settings for the killers and an interesting hunting game. You should bring these to Gore.
Lastly, Patrick, I need you to get involved and connect with friends introduced by Jason Trumm and Frank Giustra."
Everyone nodded.
Etto took some papers, puzzled. "Charlie, you are doing a lot of work on distribution channels now. Shouldn't you focus on contacting companies? I think the Wrong Turn project need you the most."
Charlie laughed, "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the project. But I believe the product is just the base. Corleone Entertainment Group lacks a management system and a sales promotion platform.
The same product can sell at different prices depending on complex business tactics!
Without these, the control of resources and profits won't be ours.
I think, besides focusing on promotion strategies, we need to build media relationships and a good public relations team.
This is a good opportunity. Through Jason Trumm, Frank Giustra, and Kerry, we can gain lots of connections in media, retail, and government sectors."
