Chapter 50

Kitazawa couldn't help smiling as he listened to the excited chatter in the classroom.

At this point, Hyuga Neji had practically become some kind of terrifying demon king in their imaginations.

Then again, he couldn't blame them.

Neji's reputation absolutely preceded him.

"All right, listen up. I'm going to announce the rules for the friendly match."

Kitazawa clapped his hands. Once the class quieted down, he explained all four events they'd be competing in.

"These four events… sound really familiar."

Ino blinked in surprise. "Aren't they the same special training exercises Kitazawa-sensei gave us?"

"Could it be… Kitazawa-sensei can see the future?" Sakura asked in awe, eyes shining.

After all, Sasuke and Hinata had started specialized training over a month ago, long before any friendly match against Second Year Class A had been scheduled.

"It's not foresight," Shikamaru muttered, scratching his head. "Sensei probably picked events he's been training us for all along."

"Hahaha!"

Naruto puffed out his chest and put his hands on his hips. "I'm totally going to take first place in the physical fitness test!"

Thanks to his naturally strong body—and Gai's relentless taijutsu training—Naruto was brimming with confidence.

"Tch. Show-off."

Inuzuka Kiba crossed his arms, scowling at Naruto's smug grin.

"You're just jealous!" Naruto shot back proudly.

"…!"

Kiba clenched his teeth in frustration.

Deep down, he knew he couldn't beat Naruto in physical stamina. The kid's endurance was insane—sometimes Kiba wondered if Naruto was secretly a ninja dog himself. He was practically Konoha's hyperactive mad dog.

"We still need to be cautious of Hyuga Neji," Shino Aburame murmured, adjusting his sunglasses.

"It's fine!" Ino said brightly. "We've got Kitazawa-sensei!"

"That's right!" Hinata echoed, her voice gentle but firm.

Shikamaru shook his head with a sigh.

They were all piling so much pressure onto one Chunin teacher. Did they even realize what they were expecting of him?

He figured it was going to be a rough fight… but in the end, it was just a friendly match. Losing wouldn't be the end of the world.

"To help prepare for next month's match, I've put together a training plan tailored to your abilities," Kitazawa announced calmly. "We'll go over the details during the practical combat period. For now—let's start class."

The first lesson of the day was on the Will of Fire.

Kitazawa was a pro at teaching it by now, delivering the lecture in a way that had the entire class listening—and laughing—in good spirits.

By the time the class ended, the students were chatting and smiling as they gathered their things.

Kitazawa headed back to the office, with Sasuke and Hinata following close behind.

He didn't even have to assign them anything—they both immediately launched into their own training routines.

Soon, it was afternoon: time for the final class of the day—practical combat.

Kitazawa stepped forward and laid out his plan.

He split the entire class into two groups based on the results of their first monthly exam.

The first group consisted of those with average scores. They wouldn't participate in the friendly match and would simply focus on regular lessons.

The second group, made up of the top performers, would be led by Hinata and Sasuke.

Sasuke was continuing his training in chakra nature transformation.

For chakra control exercises, Kitazawa added Ino, Sakura, Shikamaru, Choji, and Shino alongside Hinata.

Meanwhile, the remaining students—under Naruto and Kiba's leadership—focused on rigorous physical conditioning.

As for the actual combat practice, Kitazawa planned to begin intensive special training in about two weeks.

When the class finally wrapped up, Shikamaru slumped down onto the ground, looking like a dead fish.

He hadn't expected Kitazawa-sensei to assign him tree-climbing training. It felt like a catastrophic blow to his carefully cultivated life of laziness.

Kitazawa spotted him lying there like a salted fish and chuckled softly.

That was just how Shikamaru was. If no one pushed him, he'd never move on his own.

"Good work, everyone! To reward you for your efforts today—I've brought snacks!"

Kitazawa grinned as he pulled out a summoning storage scroll.

Hinata instinctively placed a hand over her stomach.

As soon as Kitazawa said the word "snacks," she suddenly realized… she was starving.

"That's awesome!"

Akimichi Choji's eyes lit up at the mention of snacks. He sprang to his feet like he'd been revived from the dead.

"It has to be Kitazawa-sensei," Ino Yamanaka said with a bright smile.

She wasn't particularly greedy for food, but hey—who would turn down free snacks?

"Sasuke-kun, I'll get some for you!"

Sakura Haruno practically launched herself from her seat, rushing over to Kitazawa.

"…"

Sasuke let out a small sigh, looking helpless.

He really wasn't a fan of snacks.

"Sasuke-kun! Here's yours!"

Sakura bounded back, presenting him with a bag of treats.

Sasuke was about to refuse when something caught his eye. Inside his snack bag were dango—his brother Itachi's favorite.

Curious, he glanced at Sakura's bag and noticed the contents weren't quite the same as his own.

Did Kitazawa really pay attention to details like that?

For a moment, Sasuke was genuinely impressed.

He took a cautious bite of the dango and thought, 'It really is sweet.'

"Kitazawa-sensei."

Hinata approached shyly once the others began drifting away.

"This… is for you?"

Kitazawa grinned and handed her four large bags of snacks, practically dumping them into her arms.

"Th-thank you, Kitazawa-sensei."

Hinata's cheeks burned crimson as she clutched the bags, her embarrassment obvious.

"I told you before," Kitazawa said, patting her gently on the head. "Being able to eat well is a blessing. Don't be shy about it."

"Mhm."

Hinata felt a warm glow in her chest and nodded softly.

"I'll walk you home," Kitazawa offered, relieving her of the burden of the giant snack haul. "There's no way you're carrying all this by yourself."

Hinata's heart fluttered, and she nodded quickly. Truth be told, she wanted any excuse to spend more time with Kitazawa.

When they reached the Hyuga Clan compound, Kitazawa spotted a familiar figure ahead—a man standing tall and dignified, his posture like a pine tree, radiating authority.

"Father!"

Hinata hurried forward and bowed deeply.

"Hiashi-sama," Kitazawa greeted, thinking to himself, 'Just as I expected.'

"You're Kitazawa?"

Hiashi spoke calmly, his expression neutral as his sharp eyes assessed the young teacher.

"I am."

Kitazawa nodded politely.

"Thank you for taking care of Hinata these past weeks," Hiashi said, offering a curt acknowledgment before turning and heading toward the courtyard.

His manners were flawless, but Kitazawa could feel the faint undercurrent of Hyuga pride—and perhaps a touch of condescension—beneath his words.

Kitazawa wasn't surprised.

Both the Hyuga and Uchiha clans were famously proud, though the Hyuga were masters at hiding it beneath a mask of polite decorum.

"See you tomorrow, Kitazawa-sensei."

Hinata gave a small, reluctant wave, clutching her snacks as if they were treasure.

"Why do you have so many snacks?"

Hiashi glanced at the four bulging bags in her arms, a rare look of confusion crossing his face.

"They're a reward from Kitazawa-sensei," Hinata explained after a short hesitation. Then, summoning her courage, she added, "And… I can eat all of them."

"You can eat snacks," Hiashi said, his brow furrowing, "but you shouldn't overdo it. Your regular meals are more important."

"I really can eat a lot," Hinata blurted out, gripping the bags tighter. "I have… a big appetite."

Hiashi blinked in surprise.

For a moment, he was tempted to dismiss it as nonsense. But then, a thoughtful look came over his face.

As clan head, he understood better than most that a large appetite could actually be a hidden advantage. After all, the Akimichi clan thrived by storing up chakra through their formidable eating habits.

"How much can you eat?" Hiashi finally asked, his voice unexpectedly serious.

"If it's the bowls we have at home… I can eat ten bowls right now," Hinata said, careful but determined.

Hiashi stared at her for two seconds, then suddenly burst into loud, genuine laughter.

"…Ha!"

"…?"

Hinata stood frozen, stunned. She had never seen her father laugh like that—not ever.

'Is he… happy because I can eat so much?'

'Maybe Kitazawa-sensei was right after all.'

[Current Mission: Feed your deskmate, Hyuga Hinata, until she voluntarily reveals her secret.]

[Mission Reward: Byakugan.]

[Host has completed the mission. Reward granted.]

Elsewhere, as Kitazawa strolled through the village streets, his eyes went wide.

'Holy crap! A mission reward like this… is the system handing out gold bars or what?!'
