"Clan Leader, someone left this outside the door."
"What is it?"
Motonami Uchiha furrowed his brow. He was already a Chunin—why so flustered?
"Clan Leader, you'll see."
He had rushed all the way using the Shifting Body Technique and now pulled out a manga volume wrapped in black cloth from inside his robe.
Unfolding the cloth revealed a manga volume. On its cover was a man wearing a mask with his forehead protector slanting over one eye, looking handsome and cool.
"It's just another brat's comic from the Sakuma family. What's it got to do with us?"
Motonami didn't get it.
He flipped through several pages casually—he hadn't read the earlier parts of the story, so he couldn't understand what was going on at all.
Because of that, he skimmed quickly.
Soon, Chapter Twelve.
"Hm?"
Suddenly, his chakra surged!
Furious, Uchiha Motonami's nostrils trembled slightly.
"Mū, what's wrong?"
His wife sensed the disturbance and came out, puzzled.
"Nothing. A clan member wanted to talk to me."
Motonami replied.
However,
When he turned around, where had that Chunin gone?
He wasn't there anymore!
Slightly stunned, Motonami looked down at the manga in his hands.
[Multiple Shadow Clones]... just to deliver this manga into my hands—what was his purpose?
Motonami's mind raced.
It was just a comic—fictional through and through. Holding a clan meeting over this? That's a bit much.
This masked ninja seemed to be called Kakashi Hatake—an outsider.
"Masked ninja… Kakashi Hatake… Danzo..."
He thought things through, one by one, suddenly changing expression.
The Uchiha Clan's standing in Konoha rested primarily upon the Sharingan.
If outsiders could also use the Sharingan, could the Uchiha still maintain their superior status?
Hypnosis, copying, Genjutsu—the abilities of the Sharingan were perfectly demonstrated by Kakashi.
Even though it was only a manga, if everyone in Konoha started thinking this way, the Uchiha would truly be in danger.
"Clan Leader, there's a kid here!"
At that moment, someone rushed in shouting.
Looking up, Motonami recognized Uchiha Eno, Ryo's father.
Seeing the manga in the Clan Leader's hand, Uchiha Eno paused briefly before scratching his head and saying, "You've already found out, Clan Leader?"
"Some stranger specifically brought it here."
Motonami said calmly. "Send word out. We're having an emergency meeting."
"Yes!"
Uchiha Eno immediately left.
Before long, all the elders and important members of the Uchiha gathered together.
Because of their hostility toward the Sakuma Clan, very few among the Uchiha had even touched this manga. Most elders and Jonin present had never seen it before.
Motonami handed out freshly printed pages, then sat silently at the head seat.
After a while—
"That little brat is too audacious, making up such stories about us Uchiha!"
"Clan Leader, this is an insult!"
"This must be punished strictly by Hokage, or else our clan will lose face completely."
For a moment, the meeting hall exploded with anger.
Uchiha Motonami remained silent with his eyes closed, gradually causing many others to fall quiet.
At this moment, Eno Uchiha hesitated before asking, "Clan Leader, do you really think this is just a kid's made-up story?"
"What's your take on it?"
"Feels more real than made-up. That brat might actually be one of Danzo's disciples."
Motonami Uchiha nodded and stood up.
After scanning the room with his eyes, everyone quickly fell silent, and only then did he continue speaking, "This is very likely Danzo's way of testing us, as well as issuing a warning."
"The civilians are fools. If most people believe the Uchiha can be replaced, even if Danzo takes action, there won't be much uproar or opposition."
An elder who hadn't spoken finally voiced his opinion.
The Uchiha had been granted special police authority, yet they remained detached from the mainstream of Konoha. Naturally, they looked down upon commoners and had no interest in mingling with them.
"If Danzo threatens us like this, we could ally with the Hyuga clan."
An elder pondered for a moment before suggesting this plan. The Hyuga, another clan relying on dojutsu techniques, faced similar concerns.
"Elder, the Hyuga clan won't form an alliance with us," Motonami Uchiha sighed. "They have their main and branch families, and besides that—"
Compared to the Uchiha, the Hyuga clan was far too obedient. As long as Konoha didn't lose its mind, it wouldn't move against the Hyuga; instead, it would protect the Hyuga's power to balance against the Uchiha.
If that was the case, why should the Hyuga worry?
However, among those present were many who hated Konoha and Danzo. He kept those thoughts to himself.
"Eno, you should personally discipline that punk and test Danzo's reaction."
One of the elders spoke.
"Yeah, show that kid who's boss!"
"Let's test the waters first. We can see what the other side does next before deciding anything else."
His suggestion gained support from many others present. After thinking it over momentarily, the rest agreed as well, believing there would be little loss in doing so—it might only result in a scolding at worst—and they nodded accordingly.
Motonami Uchiha glanced around the room, then sighed. "Alright then. Let's proceed with this plan."
So proud. So arrogant, these Uchiha.
Yet since Madara's betrayal and the subsequent changes, the clan meeting system was already distorted—things would never be decided by the Clan Leader alone again.
"Kagami, I wish you were still alive."
If only his younger brother were still living, perhaps things would've turned out completely differently.
The next day.
Akaba originally planned to lie in bed a bit longer when suddenly, early in the morning, he heard rustling sounds coming from the window, followed by a figure jumping through it.
"Who the hell? Hmm? Oh my god!"
Initially groggy, he sat up abruptly, using the blanket to cover himself tightly as soon as he opened his eyes.
"C'mon now, we're all familiar enough. No need to react so dramatically."
Tsunade glanced toward the bed, a slight smile appearing on her face, before lazily waving a hand—a half-hearted greeting.
"Morning already? What're you doing here? And yeah, I've got a door—use it!"
Akaba was getting angry.
Morning time was perfect for sleeping in, but now because she climbed in through the window, his peaceful slumber was ruined!
"Tsk. Your latest arc? You've really pushed it this time. Making wild claims about the Uchiha's eyes—do you wanna stir up a war?"
Tsunade said in a stern tone.
"C'mon, it's just manga anyway. And maybe step outside? I gotta change."
Akaba waved his hands helplessly before adding weakly.
"It doesn't matter. We're comrades who've entrusted our lives to each other."
Tsunade said with a smile.
"Fine, I guess there's nothing I can do about you."
He sighed, grabbed the clean clothes and started changing. "I need to go to the manga shop later. Do you have anything else going on?"
"Not really, but I'm curious—do you know exactly what consequences this will bring?"
"So what if they do?"
Akaba had already finished dressing within a few seconds.
He looked indifferent as he checked his watch—it wouldn't take long for the Uchiha to catch wind of this.
"You know the Uchiha are definitely coming after you because of this. You still want to go out?"
"Yeah, I'm not one to back down either."
Akaba replied calmly.
Though he didn't yet know what Danzo would do, since he'd agreed, he was sure he'd send a warning to the Uchiha.
If only one or two Uchiha showed up, it would mean they were backing down. Then even if a fight broke out, it'd just be a small skirmish—completely risk-free.
