Chapter 70: The Book of the Dead

"There are still some matters within the clan I must attend to. I'll take my leave now."

Motonami Uchiha said with a smile.

"Take care, no need for formalities," Danzo replied impassively, seemingly unaffected by the Sharingan message.

Motonami bowed slightly and vanished in a Body Flicker.

"Teacher, do I still need to continue training?"

"No. Dismiss your clone."

Danzo cast him a glance and grumbled.

"Meh, I'm just a Genin—not some big shot like you guys."

The clone muttered sarcastically.

Danzo ignored him and disappeared with a flash.

The Akaba clone dissolved simultaneously, its memories returning to the original body.

On the streets of Konoha, the real one immediately changed direction.

He had planned to go home and sleep, but thinking about Tsunade, he decided to head toward the manga shop instead.

There were many people at the shop buying comics, while Tsunade sat by the door lost in thought, so much that she didn't even notice Akaba's arrival.

"Aren't you leaving yet?"

"Huh? You're back!"

Tsunade stood up and quickly asked, "So how did it go? What did the teacher say?"

"Not much really—just told me to add a patch."

Akaba replied as he sat down.

"A patch?"

Tsunade thought hard but still couldn't understand the meaning behind this foreign-sounding term.

"It means adding more background details."

Akaba explained.

When talking about patches, The Book of the Dead was essential, although certain adjustments needed to be made based on current events.

He sat down and immediately started sketching Kakashi's portrait.

This page needed to be added to the next volume, so he had to rush through it as soon as possible.

"Kakashi?"

Tsunade glanced over and then watched in surprise from behind.

Within a minute or two, Kakashi's black-and-white illustration appeared on paper, his forehead protector pushed upward, revealing the Sharingan in his right eye.

However,

after finishing the portrait, Akaba immediately put the paper away.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!"

Tsunade could already imagine the vast blank space below, waiting to be filled with content. How could he stop now!

"I feel a bit tired. I'll rest for a bit and continue later."

Akaba yawned as he spoke, "You forget—I was woken up super early today because of you."

"What a tightwad!"

Tsunade muttered in frustration. Was climbing through windows in the morning really such a big deal?

"If you promise not to climb through windows anymore, I'll keep going."

"You!"

Tsunade clenched her fists, took several deep breaths, and scoffed coldly, "Fine! No windows—it's not like I want to anyway!"

"With those words, I suppose I can manage to work overtime."

He spread the paper open again and picked up his brush.

At first came a simple introduction of Kakashi: an elite Jonin from the Hidden Leaf Village, former Anbu member...

"A Jonin at twelve? Isn't that a bit over the top!"

Tsunade exclaimed in surprise.

"Jonin's just a title. In wartime, they die off fast, so people move up quicker."

Akaba answered briefly before continuing writing.

Next came a set of stats: [Ninjutsu 10, Taijutsu 9, Genjutsu 8].

At first, Tsunade wasn't sure what he meant, but by the end, it clicked.

Ten must be the top score—the higher, the stronger.

Looking at these entries, this ninja named Kakashi from the manga seemed almost omnipotent, showing no weaknesses at all.

She was about to label him as "perverted" when she caught sight of the "chakra" value: 5.

"Five? You're kidding, right? This chakra level is outrageous."

Elite jonin were usually among the most highly respected warriors in the village. For such a ninja to have only 5 chakra was simply absurd.

"No exaggeration there. The Sharingan isn't without cost."

As Akaba explained, he continued adding annotations.

The main reason for writing this section was to provide patches for non-clan members using the Sharingan. Naturally, Kakashi's chakra issue became a key point.

"The Sharingan, also known as the Eye that Sees Through Souls, draws its power from the Uchiha bloodline and one's spiritual willpower."

Tsunade read line by line, but by the end, she stared wide-eyed, struggling to believe it.

This information must've been stolen from the Uchiha clan's library!

"Because his teammate voluntarily donated it, the Sharingan transplant was successful. However, lacking the Uchiha bloodline means he pays an enormous price to use it."

Akaba didn't spell it out clearly, but precisely because it was vague, it sparked more imagination.

Tsunade fell into thought before asking, "The condition for awakening the Sharingan is voluntary donation. And his low chakra level is because of the Sharingan?"

"Something like that."

Finally, Akaba added a note thanking the Uchiha clan for their help with the Sharingan information.

"Did the Uchiha clan give you all this information?"

Tsunade asked, still struggling to believe.

"Yeah, straight from the Uchiha Clan Leader himself."

Akaba smiled without further explanation.

Having just received the clone's memories, he himself couldn't quite believe it yet, but that was the truth.

He left this page on the Sketchpad to dry, then handed it directly to Tsunade.

"Why are you giving this to me?"

Tsunade blinked in surprise.

"The Senju clan is close with Izumi Yamano. Please do me a favor and deliver it to him. Put 'urgent' on the last page."

Akaba said calmly.

Hearing this, Tsunade nearly bled from frustration. Whether she agreed or not, this piece of paper would ultimately end up in her hands.

He sat on the chair, holding the paper suspended in his hand.

"Hey, take it already!"

"You! Hmph, I'll deliver it for you, but I'm climbing through your window again!"

Tsunade took the page containing Kakashi's information and sneered.

"My house has a front door."

Akaba looked annoyed—could she really go back on her word after agreeing?

"I walk through doors and you get up? Don't care, I'm leaving."

Tsunade waved dismissively.

She'd never admit she hadn't been able to sleep last night and had woken up early just to peek through the window and see who was with him.

"Fine, whatever. I need to go back and catch some sleep anyway."

After failing to persuade her otherwise, Akaba could only give up.

It wasn't a big deal after all. Although every time Tsunade climbed through his window did make him feel somewhat ashamed, much like getting caught doing something utterly embarrassing—it was awkward at first, but over time the embarrassment faded.

Tsunade vanished instantly with the Body Flicker Technique.

Akaba had originally intended to go home and actually get some sleep. But just as he turned around, he suddenly realized where Tsunade had gone—he hadn't gone toward the Senju clan territory, had he?

"That direction leads to the factory. Is this idiot really going to deliver it for me?"

He stood there blankly for a moment. It really wasn't necessary at all.

For reasons he couldn't quite explain, Akaba felt a tinge of regret creep in. He should've just done it himself from the start.

"Master, are you leaving?"

Sakuma Yunlang said, a trace of regret in his voice.

"What's wrong?"

Akaba glanced around and noticed quite a few people had gathered.

Each held a manga volume, and when Akaba was stopped, one person stepped forward: "Lord Akaba, my child really loves your manga. Could you please draw a poster? I'm willing to pay!"

He was just an ordinary man, not a ninja, and one hundred silver taels was quite a sum for him.

Looking closer, Akaba noticed many others were in the same situation—shy, ordinary people who hesitated to ask for anything.

Fair enough, but keep your money. I'll draw only ten posters, and starting now, each manga update will come with ten lucky volumes that include a poster.
