The last week of school was a blur. Class photos, farewell messages, and yearbook signings.
Miyu drew a tiny heart next to her name in my yearbook. I added a smiling star next to mine in hers.
On the final day, our homeroom teacher gave a small speech that made even the class clown tear up.
Miyu squeezed my hand as we walked out of the school gates.
"This isn't goodbye," she said.
"No," I smiled. "It's the start of something new."
