A Lunatic's Requiem

Lucian Veil is a jack of all trades, a novice of many yet master of none.



He drifted through life, many hobbies treated like fleeting dreams - abandoned when it's spark failed to give him meaning. Even his escape, his favorite novel, ended in bitter disappointment. An unsatisfactory ending left it hollow, just like him.



Saying the remarks on his mind, the system appeared, forcing him to change it himself. Thrust into the novel's world, Lucian awakens as "The Jack". A third party player shrouded in mystery forced to perform roles for scenarios in the overworld and dungeons - portals to the underworld where one battles the horrors of hell.



To alter the course of the protagonists he dances through the shadows with uncanny adaptability. But if every role rewrites fate, can a man wearing a thousand faces remember his own?
