Fainted from Anger

After leaving the hospital, Nevaeh quickly returned home.

However, as soon as she stepped inside, she found Frank looking at her with a complicated expression.

He blocked her at the door, pulling out a divorce agreement and handing it to her. "Nevaeh, please sign this!"

Nevaeh was taken aback. "You promised me..."

"I'm sorry, but I have no choice!" Frank replied, his voice tense.

Nevaeh shook her head firmly. "I'm not signing."

Was Cassius really that impatient after just three days?

Frank's face tightened at her words. "Then I'm afraid you'll have to face the consequences."

With that, Frank clapped his hands.

Soon, two bodyguards, Girard and Sawyer, approached and lifted Nevaeh, carrying her into the guest room.

Before closing the door, Frank left her with a warning. "Mr. Cassius said that you'll be released as soon as you sign."

The door was locked, and Cassius's voice seeped through the crack. "If she doesn't sign, don't bother giving her any food."

Frank felt a pang of guilt but didn't dare to argue.

---

Three days later.

As soon as the old man was discharged from the hospital, he came to Cassius's house.

"Grandpa, how's your recovery?" Cassius asked.

"As long as you don't anger me, I won't kick the bucket," the old man replied, glancing around. "Where's Nevaeh? That girl hasn't come to see me. I miss her."

It suddenly dawned on Cassius that Nevaeh was still in the house.

For three days, Frank had mentioned that she would rather starve than sign the papers.

He turned to Frank, who nodded in agreement, and Cassius immediately went to find Nevaeh.

In the room, Nevaeh lay on the bed, looking thinner and curled up, her face pale. When she saw the light coming in, she squinted and looked toward the door.

"Nevaeh," Frank said, filled with guilt. "Are you okay?"

Nevaeh lay on the bed, her voice weak. "Let me go home today. After I come back, I'll sign."

"The old man is here. Can you..."

At the mention of the old man, Nevaeh struggled to sit up in bed. But as soon as she did, a wave of dizziness hit her, and she felt like she might faint at any moment.

She struggled to hold herself together as she slowly got out of bed and walked out of the room.

Frank tried several times to help her, but she refused each time.

"Grandpa," Nevaeh appeared, standing before the elderly man, forcing a smile as she called out.

Her voice was faint, and her figure seemed to waver. The old man was taken aback by Nevaeh's condition.

"What... what happened to you?" Seeing Nevaeh like this, he looked at Cassius in disbelief. "What have you done to Nevaeh?"

Frank lowered his head. "Grandpa, it's my fault. I just wanted Nevaeh to sign something, but I didn't expect..."

"Sign what?" the old man's voice rose in anger. "She is my granddaughter-in-law from the family! What kind of document could justify torturing her like this?"

"A divorce agreement," Cassius suddenly spoke up.

The old man's hand trembled, and with a loud thud, his cane fell to the ground.

"You! You actually want to divorce Nevaeh? Do you even care about me, your grandfather? So, you want to starve Nevaeh, huh? This marriage was my decision, and if you want to end it, then you can starve with me!"

The old man's chest heaved violently as he gasped for air, his entire body shaking with rage.

"Grandpa, I gave her money. She won't be at a loss," Cassius explained.

"Money? Nevaeh saved your life! I know you have feelings for someone, but that woman hasn't shown up in three years. Even if you find her, I will never allow her into this family!"

After the old man finished speaking, his vision blurred, and he suddenly collapsed backward.

Cassius reacted quickly, catching him. "Grandpa!"

However, this time, the old man had genuinely fainted from anger, and no amount of calling would wake him.

Seeing this, Nevaeh, despite feeling dizzy herself, stepped forward and grabbed the old man's wrist. Her expression turned serious. "Quick, get Grandpa to his room. His blood pressure is rising; he can't be agitated any further."

As soon as she finished speaking, Cassius pushed Nevaeh aside. "Are you satisfied now?"
