Meeting his Parents

These two people were none other than Arvin and his father Marvin.

Marvin wasn't as furious as Arvin. Instead, he was observing the land.

"The blood is still fresh. Someone must have killed it an hour ago. But I didn't find any human blood, which means someone strong killed it."

Hearing that, Arvin shook his head frantically.

"That's impossible. Nobody has come to this place. You said that before, remember? Otherwise, how could someone not take away the Fourth Rank baby bird?"

Marvin waved his hand and said.

"No, you are wrong, son. Since you fought this beast two days ago, someone must have heard the noise and come here."

"But your words do make some sense. If someone strong had found this bird, he would've taken it away. After all, it was a two-year-old bird that had reached Fourth rank."

"So, the person who killed it mustn't know its true value. Go and see the surroundings. We can find more clues."

After hearing his father's order, Arvin looked around and saw two dead bodies.

He couldn't remember their clothes, but he could feel some similarities.

He tried to find another dead body, but no matter how much he tried, he didn't find anyone.

"Dad, I found the bodies of two new students. One more person is missing. I didn't find any limb or head. I did find some torn clothes. They don't belong to me, nor do they belong to the other four."

Hearing that, Marvin narrowed his eyes and said.

"You think that new student is still alive?"

Arvin shook his head.

"I don't think that's possible. After all, I threw him towards the eagle. So, he should be the one to die first."

"But he didn't."

Marvin interjected.

He pointed at the dead bodies, a torn cloth, and many broken branches.

"It is clear that there was a fight. These two got their heads eaten without any other injuries, which means the one who fought should be that new student."

"Impossible! Even I couldn't' fight it. That new guy wasn't even rank one."

Arvin immediately denied. After all, admitting it meant he was weaker than that person.

"Yes, he couldn't fight it, but this bird was a child. And, what do children do the most?"

Marvin asked with a smile. He seemed to have found a clue.

Arvin also realized the hint and said.

"Play!"

"Yes, that bird played with this kid until someone came and rescued him. After two days, they returned, or that person returned alone. No matter what, the only one who knows the clue about this bird is that kid."

"Since we didn't find that kid's body, he must be alive and has returned to the sect. You should go and find him. Don't alert others. If you make a mess in the sect, even I can't save you, especially with your current situation."

"Find a way to bring him out of the sect, and then we can ambush him and get the information, understand?"

Arvin showed a look of displeasure. He knew what his father was talking about. After all, they were both students of the same sect.

If Oak revealed the truth to the sect, he might get warned by the sect, and if anything did happen to Oak, he would be the first suspect.

Although the sect wouldn't kill him, it would punish him; otherwise, how could anyone trust the Blue Wave Sect in the future?

"Don't worry, Dad! I know what to do."

He rolled his eyes and replied.

"Anyway, we have nothing to do here. Let's return!"

Marvin shook his head and pointed at the pond.

"I want to search that pond. I have a feeling that something is there. I trust my guts. After all, it gave me such a powerful technique."

"Okay, ..Dad!"

Arvin nodded and waited on the side while his father jumped into the pond.

Soon after, Marvin returned, but his face was extremely gloomy.

"Dad, what happened?"

Arvin didn't understand why Marvin returned with such a gloomy expression. He didn't think there was something underneath the pond that could stop his father.

"I made a mistake. I should've entered this pond two years ago."

Marvin's tone was filled with anger as he spoke.

"What happened?" Arvin looked confused.

"That boy who came with you didn't receive help from others, at least not from other people. He found some kind of treasure underneath the pond. No wonder I found that book underneath the tree."

"All this time, someone died here, and his treasures were left scattered. That's why those two birds came to this place. Before that, Purple Flame Birds couldn't be found in this area."

"That's why their child reached fourth rank within just two years. This pond has a chilling energy which repels the bird, but the atmosphere around here is hot."

"This temperature change must be caused by someone who died here. That person's treasure was also inside the cave, but it should've been found by that boy."

"He must have used some kind of treasure to kill the beast. We must find him and take those treasures. Let's go, son! I will search around this place, you return to the sect and find the information about him."

Hearing all this, Arvin helplessly asked.

"Are you sure you are right, Dad? You came to his place before. That boy came after, but not only did he not get killed, but also received some kind of treasure."

"This can only be explained by those without powerful luck. If he were that lucky, how could he be born with no background? His talent is only at Three Stars Martial Spirit."

"Yeah, he was a bit stronger, but that could be the result of his technique. So, how can you be so sure that he got some kind of treasure from this place, which has been here for who knows how long?'

Hearing his son's words, Marvin didn't react much. He waved his hand and said.

"It's nothing, something you can do now. But if you ever faced a life and death situation or some kind of extreme situation like I did while devouring those monsters, you will awaken the Sixth Sense."

"You can always trust your Sixth Sense. Although I didn't train my Sixth Sense for battle, I did awaken it. It's telling me that the boy had some kind of encounter, especially after I visited that cave."

Hearing that, Arvin felt speechless, but he nodded.

"Alright, I will find more information about him from the sect."

Saying so, he left while Marvin kept looking around.

'That boy must've gotten some kind of weapon, otherwise he couldn't have killed the bird. This weapon should be related to that powerful person.'

'So, did he just receive the weapon, or did he receive something more? It must be something more, right?'

'After all, there were several strange cracks inside the cave. These cracks were also newly formed.'

'I also saw a human handprint on the ground. Something must have happened to that boy. Some kind of inheritance, maybe. No matter what, I can't let it slip away.'

'Since he has inherited from a powerful being, those things would be extremely useful for me, but the more time I waste finding him, the more treasures and resources will be used up by him.'

'So, even if I have to risk offending Blue Wave Sect, I have to get those from him. Of course, I can't let the Blue Wave Sect know about the fruitful encounter that boy got.'

'Otherwise, they will swallow it alone. I must do it in secret. As for after that, I can just put the blame on him. Since there is already a grudge between my son and him, the sect will also have to believe it.'

'Now, I just need to find this boy. Where are you, boy?'

Marvin didn't know the boy he was talking about had already left the forest. After becoming Second Rank, his speed was several times faster than before.

Not to mention using Internal Strength, without even that, he could run sixty miles an hour.

If he used Internal Strength, that speed would increase even more.

While Marvin and Arvin entered the Eastern Wilderness Range, Oak had already left the forest and was running towards the Outer Region of Red Stone City.

Because of his Sixth Sense, he took a different route and didn't meet the father/son duo.

It was only after he reached the city, his Sixth Sense stopped giving him any kind of warning.

After all, it was just a sense, not omniscient ability.

'Since I have a lot of money now, I can take my parents to the Inner Region. So, even if Arvin searches for my parents, he would have a hard time finding them.'

'After all, the Inner Region is too crowded. More importantly, it is also safe. The only problem is that I no longer have any Silver or Bronze Plates.'

'I only have Gold Plates.'
