Molding the Story

Hearing his words, the guard couldn't help but show sadness in his eyes. But after all, he had seen too many scenes like this, so he controlled his emotions and asked.

"So, what next?"

"Well, Senior Brother from the sect took me to hunt a Third Rank beast in the Wilderness. But it turned out to be a Fourth Rank beast."

"That bastard just threw me towards the Fourth Rank Beast, but thankfully, a powerful hunter was passing by. During the life and death situation, my potential was fully explored and my Five Stars Martial Spirit was awakened."

"That hunter saw this and saved me. He also gave me that dead beast, which I used to increase my strength. While returning to the sect, I found that exact person who took away my father's wealth."

"That bastard was just a Third Rank. How could I not take my revenge? Unfortunately, I was so angry that I didn't even register his words while killing him."

"It turned out that he had an elder brother who was very powerful and a Sixth Rank Cultivator. I became nervous about my parents' situation, so I brought them to Inner City."

"Unfortunately, I don't even know who that cultivator is; otherwise, I would've asked for help from the Sect."

Hearing his words, the guard's eyes lit up.

"Then, do you have any way to describe appearance? Since those two are related, we might be able to find them."

His words made Oak pause.

After all, all of this was just bullshit. Well, most of it was. So, he had to find a way to either change the topic or he had to continue with this bullshit.

'Yeah! Why should I hide this? I am afraid of that person, but that person can't attack me in the sect. More importantly, I am much more powerful now.'

'As long as I am given some time, I will grow stronger than that person. I can't be a coward anymore. Even if it is challenging, I will face it head-on.'

Oak nodded his head and lowered his voice.

"I believe that person was somehow related to Arvin. It might all be a big coincidence, but that person had a burned feather mark on his face. I heard Arvin's father is a Sixth Rank. I haven't confirmed that he is behind this."

Hearing that, the guard's eyes shrank as he stood up in shock.

Because Oak spoke in a low voice, most of the people didn't hear him. Even his father didn't hear him.

The guard cautiously sat down and whispered.

"Brother, you might be right, but I haven't heard of Arvin having an uncle. His father Marvin has two feather marks on his face, but he has been covering them for two years, so I am not sure about now.'

Now, it was Oak's turn to be speechless.

What he said was something he made up, but now it had become closer to the truth.

This couldn't be true because Oak was lying to the guard, but even so, it was extremely surprising that there could be a coincidence like this.

'This is good. I finally got the information about my enemy. I don't believe there are too many people with feather marks on their faces. And, he was Fourth Rank during that time.'

'Now he is Sixth Rank. He knew about the position of those birds, which means he found something from there that helped him improve his strength. That bird was just a baby bird, so I believe he found its parents.'

Suddenly, he remembered something.

In his Space Ring, something was missing. It was a lower technique of the 'True Blood Devouring Technique'.

'Could it be he found that technique and used the blood of those birds to increase his strength? That makes sense. It also explains why Arvin improved so much in such a short time.'

'But there is a problem. His mark was burned, and Marvin has two, which doesn't make much sense.'

"Brother Guard, did he have a burn mark on his face that resembled the feather?"

Oak asked.

The guard shook his head and said.

"No, even if he did, that would've been healed a long time ago. His feather marks looked purple. That's all."

'It might not be him, but my Sixth Sense tells me that he is. Once I see him, I can figure it out. For now, let's not talk about it.'

Oak nodded and returned to his parents.

When he approached, Root whispered.

"Oak, why did you make a story like that? Couldn't you just hide about the evolution of your Martial Spirit?"

Oak shook his head and replied.

"Dad, I underestimated the influence of Five Stars Martial Spirit. These guards are Third Rank, and I am only Second, but they started looking at me like I am some kind of king or a prince."

"If they just do that, it wouldn't be a problem. But they even tried to curry favor with me. They are expecting some kind of benefit in the future, but we don't even know each other."

"So, the only reason they did this must be to use my influence in the future. And since they behaved so well, there is an eighty percent chance that I will use my power to help them in the future."

"It's just a belief in their heart, but just for this belief, they are doing their best."

Hearing that, Root understood why Oak changed his plan and did something so outrageous. He not only revealed the secret evolution of his Martial Spirit to the guard but also to those people.

But then again, Oak mentioned that his Martial Spirit awakened during a dangerous encounter rather than taking some kind of drugs.

Well, no idiot would say something like that, and people might still get suspicious, but Oak had forged a complete story.

What did it mean?

Unless they found this imaginary hunter, others had no way to prove that Oak encountered some kind of inheritance.

"Don't worry, Dad. Our son has always been smart." Unlike his father, Aria didn't seem worried.

At this moment, even if they did die, she wouldn't be worried about her son. Because his future was set, and his ceiling was extremely high.

For her, that's all it matters.

"Mr. Oak!"

The guard called him out.

Oak turned around and saw the previous guard with another man. This man wore a purple robe. His long hair was tied in a ponytail and his eyebrows were a bit too high.

Except for that, he looked normal.

The guard introduced him.

"This is Mr. Nanier. He is the broker who can do a little bit of everything. You want to find information? You can find him. You want properties? You can contact him."

"There is nothing that he doesn't know."

As soon as he said that, Oak asked.

"Then, I have a question. Is there someone who will save Marvin if he is in danger?"

Nanier's eyes narrowed as he showed a slit smile and spoke.

"If you are talking about Marvin, the father of Arvin, then no."

His response gave Oak a pause.

He nodded his head and said.

"Let's talk! Do you know any nice restaurants with private rooms?"

Nanier's smile got bigger as he said.

"Of course, I know. Please, follow me!"

Soon, Nanier took him to a big restaurant. They booked a private room and ordered some food.

"Now, let's talk about the house. Mr. Nanier, I need a place that is hard to find in the Inner Region. And even if someone wants to find it, he must ask others."

Nanier paused and replied.

"Sir, there are only three houses that fit your requirement, and all three of them are mansions costing over twenty Gold Plates. Of course, they are only at this price because this is just the Inner Region."

Hearing that, Oak turned toward his parents, who seemed a bit scared. He took out a storage book, and from there, he revealed sixty gold plates.

"I want to buy all three."

"What?"

Root and Aria stood up in shock, but Oak managed to pull them down while Nanier looked with an intrigued expression. He clapped his hands and said.

"Nice idea! You know that there are no perfect walls. If your enemy is trying to find your parents, he must search all three houses. Coincidentally, these houses are almost two lanes apart."

"So, this person can't do it within a single day. Because that would cause a lot of problems for him unless he had the power to suppress everyone."

Hearing that, Oak nodded.

"You are also smart to figure out. This is a small fortune I made. If I die holding this fortune, it will only aid my enemy. So, I would rather spend it all than save it."

Nanier looked at him with a hint of surprise and said.

"You are very interesting, Sir. Now, there are very few people who think like you. It will be fun working with you. So, should we seal the deal?"
