FABIAN
The note trembled in my hand, the words burning into my vision like acid.
*Alpha Fabian, the attack on Vanessa wasn't ordered by rogues or rivals. The threat comes from within your own walls. Trust no one in Silverclaw.*
No signature. No scent. Nothing but these seventeen words scrawled in block letters on plain paper.
"When did this arrive?" I asked Gage, keeping my voice steady despite the storm raging inside me.
"This morning, sir. A young beta found it slipped under the main gate." My head of security stood rigidly at attention. "We've already begun investigating."
I folded the note carefully, sliding it into my pocket. "I want forensics on this. Every test we have. And security footage from every angle of the perimeter."
"Already underway, Alpha."
"And the messenger?"
"Vanished." Gage's face hardened. "We're tracking scent trails, but whoever delivered it knew our patrol patterns."
