The Shadow's Name

ROMAN

The rail yard stretched out before me, rusted metal and abandoned train cars creating a maze of shadows in the fading light. The scent of the rogue grew stronger as Gage and I moved silently through the graveyard of steel and concrete.

My wolf snarled beneath my skin, demanding blood. Three days since Vanessa and Fabian had disappeared. Three days of hell.

"There," Gage whispered, gesturing toward a figure darting between freight cars.

I nodded, motioning for him to circle around. This rogue wouldn't escape. Not when he might have information about Vaughn—the name that had haunted me since receiving Leo's frantic call.

The rogue moved fast, but desperation made me faster. I closed the distance in seconds, launching myself at him with cold precision. We crashed to the ground, his body hitting the gravel with a satisfying thud as I pinned him beneath me.

"Don't fucking move," I growled, pressing my knee into his back.
