The Alpha's Justice

The silence in the car felt charged as Adrian's words hung in the air. "My wife. It suited you."

My heart hammered against my ribs. What was I supposed to say to that? Before I could formulate a response, Leo stirred against my shoulder, saving me from having to reply.

"Are we home?" he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

Adrian's gaze lingered on me for a moment longer before shifting to his son. "Yes, we're home. Why don't you go inside and rest for a bit?"

Leo nodded sleepily as Hudson opened the car door. He climbed out, then paused, turning back to look at me. "Are you coming too, Miss Sera?"

I hesitated, glancing at Adrian. His expression was unreadable, but he nodded slightly.

"I'll be right behind you," I promised Leo, who seemed satisfied and headed toward the house with Hudson.

When they were out of earshot, Adrian turned to me. "I'd like you to stay. We need to talk about what happened today."
