Chapter 39: Tsunade: He's Mine!

Are you a dog? Tearing down the door every day. Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the empty doorway, speechless.

"Lord Hokage." An ANBU ninja appeared, alerted by the commotion. She wore a frog mask; it was Haru. "I'll go find someone to fix it now." Haru glanced at the scene and understood what had happened. You regret it, I get angry, pow. She was all too familiar with this routine.

"Wait a moment," Hiruzen said, suddenly thinking of something. "First, go get Tsunade. I have something to discuss with her."

"Yes, sir." Haru instantly vanished.

Hiruzen took out his pipe, lit it, and took a puff. The displeasure brought by Danzo Shimura all disappeared into the smoke.

"Old man! You'd better have a real reason for calling me!" A few minutes later, the voice arrived before the person did. A dissatisfied tone came from far to near.

Hiruzen looked up and saw Tsunade, who had come to demand an explanation. He didn't even have to think to guess the reason. She must have had a bad run at the casino and lost miserably.

"Where's your door?" Tsunade noticed the empty doorway, paused for a moment, and asked.

"Don't worry about it," Hiruzen said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Who was it? Danzo again?" After a little thought, Tsunade guessed the answer. She snorted coldly and said, "You should really rein him in!"

"He's not an ordinary ninja. He's a ninja who has rendered meritorious service," Hiruzen said casually, tapping his pipe. "As long as it's for the sake of Konoha, just let him be."

"For the sake of Konoha? I think it's for the sake of himself!" Tsunade said with a look of disgust.

"Tsunade," Hiruzen coughed and said, "give me some face."

"Alright, speak. What is it?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes and said, "If it's nothing important, don't waste my time."

"I called you over because of Hagawa," Hiruzen said, coughing lightly to forcefully change the subject.

"Hagawa?" Tsunade's gaze sharpened slightly. "What about him?"

"Danzo came to see me just now. He wants Hagawa... wait! Stop!" Hiruzen subconsciously raised his hand, but he was a step too late.

POW!

Tsunade's fist smashed into his desk. "He dares?!"

Amidst her angry questioning, countless cracks appeared on the desk, and then it broke in half at the waist. Hiruzen's mouth fell open. My desk that's been with me for two and a half years! A look of heartache appeared on his face. This desk was quite good to use. To get another one, he would have to get used to it all over again.

"Don't worry, I've already refused him," Hiruzen said quickly, afraid she would continue her destruction.

"You'd better have!" Tsunade said, clenching her fist霸气 (bàqì) - domineeringly.

"It seems you care about him a lot," Hiruzen said with a smile. "Why don't you take him as your student?"

"He's still far from ready," Tsunade said with a pout.

"Do you know why Danzo came looking for me today?" Hiruzen asked in return.

Tsunade raised an eyebrow slightly. If she remembered correctly, Hagawa was the one Hiruzen had snatched from Danzo's hands. Logically, there was no need for him to come again, unless something special had happened today.

"The final exams?" Tsunade asked after thinking for a moment.

"Correct," Hiruzen nodded. "He defeated Kakashi."

"No wonder." A look of realization appeared on Tsunade's face. Based on Hagawa's current performance, he was already no less than Minato Namikaze. Plus, he was from an orphanage before. It was natural that Danzo Shimura would be unwilling to let him go so easily. The best way to protect Hagawa was to give him a status. And "her student" was undoubtedly the best one.

"I'm very optimistic about Hagawa," Hiruzen said after a pause. "If you don't take him as your student, I'll go find Jiraiya. He might be more suitable than you."

"No way!" Tsunade said without thinking. "He's mine!"

It was the first time she had met someone who could change her luck. How could she possibly give him to someone else? Besides, what if he became lewd and perverted after following Jiraiya?

"This won't do, that won't do. You can't possibly want me to take him as my student, can you?" Hiruzen couldn't help but laugh. As the Hokage, his students were in even more danger. And he was old; he had long since lost the heart to teach students. He pushed him to Tsunade because besides Hagawa being truly excellent, he also had the thought of finding her a companion. Ever since Nawaki died, Tsunade had been all alone, without any bonds. She was the best medical ninja in the world, and also the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. For whatever reason, she had to be kept in Konoha.

"Damn you, Danzo!" Tsunade said, her mood foul.

Hiruzen calmly smoked his pipe. He knew Tsunade very well. To put it bluntly, she had a sharp tongue but a soft heart. She said she didn't care about Konoha, but she cared more than anyone else. As for Danzo Shimura, she could curse him all she wanted.

Just then, Tsunade, with a cold face, turned and walked to the door.

"Tsunade?" Hiruzen quickly called out to her.

"You go and tell Danzo that Hagawa is my student! Tell him not to show his face in front of us!" Tsunade said, punching the wall next to the door.

"..." A corner of Hiruzen's mouth twitched. My god, can't you just talk without using your fists?

"Haru," Hiruzen said helplessly. "Put all the losses on Danzo's head." As for Tsunade, she had no money at all. Putting it on her tab would be pointless.

"Old man, what's going on?" A moment later, a head suddenly poked in through the window. It was Jiraiya. He climbed into the office, looked left and right, and tutted in amazement. "What? Did the Cloud Village invade?"

"The Cloud Village isn't that bold as to cause trouble in my office," Hiruzen said, looking at him. "What do you need me for?"

"I'm leaving for a while," Jiraiya said after a few seconds of hesitation.

"Going to find your ethereal Child of Prophecy again?" Hiruzen couldn't help but frown.

"The Child of Prophecy is real," Jiraiya said in a deep voice.

"Konoha Village is not very peaceful right now," Hiruzen said slowly.

"Minato has already learned the Flying Thunder God Technique. With him here, there won't be any problems," Jiraiya insisted, ignoring the tense atmosphere.

"You!" Hiruzen got angry and slapped the table, but hit empty air.

"If anything happens, just have Minato contact me. I will definitely rush back," Jiraiya promised.

"Forget it. You can go," Hiruzen sighed, no longer trying to stop him. With Jiraiya's strength, stopping him was meaningless anyway.

"Thanks, old man." Jiraiya's eyes suddenly darted around. He casually threw him a book and said, "A gift for you." He turned, and just as he had come, leaped out the window and left.

"Taimanin?" Hiruzen subconsciously read the title of the book. He casually flipped open the book and his heart skipped a beat. This unfilial disciple! Am I that kind of person?

Hiruzen coughed lightly and put away Taimanin.
